We had just arrived in Torquay to stay and it was late so we decided to have a quick drive around and see what was on offer. We happened upon this place as one of the first places we saw that was still open at that time (about 9pm on a Monday night) and both ordered cod and chips. Lovely, it makes you realise how the fish is fresher in Devon than it is in Birmingham cause we are no where near the sea at all. Really tastey and a good price, would definitely go here again.

It is in a great location and they seem to be busy so I suppose that must mean something. We had lukewarm fish and hard chips. I don't think I'm going to try it again. It is situated on the road to Brixham in a small parade of shops and there is parking outside. They have competition from a Chinese takeaway and for my money I think I would rather go there or pop into the nearby Co-op and get something to take home and cook.

But this was not good enough and we were informed it was their busy time despite there being several other vacant tables in the restaurant so it was best we ate elsewhere. Never been spoken too so condescending, it's amazing how much damage to a reputation can one older lady do. If this is the owner of Scoffs, then she really is doing more harm then good with this high handed approach. Will never eat there again and I can safely say the same for the other 6 adults and 5 children in our party.

Most had fish and chips others the special. Both at around the same cost - around £11-14 for main dish. The quality was excellent and the delivery of food good. Overall one of the best fish meals I've had in a long time.
