Jade is a wonderful therapeutic masseuse. Do not go to anyone else for a therapeutic deep tissue massage. I have been twice in as many weeks and will be going again this week! I have tendinitis in my shoulder, as well as restriction in my neck (from a car accident) and lower back pain and she has been diligently treating those areas for me. Her massage room is dark, with the sounds of a water fountain and soothing music, just what you want in a massage room. Unfortunately, it doesn't completely drown out the street noise. Jade is attentive to what ailments you need treated. She even sends you on your way with a bottle of water! I typically don't write a massage review after one massage, but this is the exception. I have had plenty of massages over the past 30+ years as I go on a regular basis, every 3-4 weeks. Many massage therapists are robots, they do the same thing over and over again, I know exactly what they are going to next. Jade, so far, is an exception. I'm betting she is not a robot. She puts feeling into her massages and differentiates with different pressures and techniques. I've left other therapists because the price was not worth the quality of massage. Pretty good experience overall. Lady who gave the massage was nice, friendly, and welcoming. I'm used to massage therapists giving a full body massage and finding knots/tension and working them out--didn't get that here unfortunately. Left feeling relaxed but still having problem areas. I found Jade on Yelp after my massage therapist abruptly moved. I wasn't looking forward to searching for a new massage therapist. I am glad I took a chance on Jade! She is kind, attentive, knowledgeable and caring. Her massage is both relaxing and effective; much of the time with other massages I have only gotten one or the other. She has helped with major shoulder and neck pain/tension. The pressure she applies is wonderful. Her approach is methodical and she is able to explain her process and the reasoning for going about the massage in a certain way. Her office is casual. And the location is quiet. I was desperate. Very desperate. I was at work yesterday when suddenly, without provocation, injury or a defining moment, I was unable to turn my head without searing pain. I took Motrin, thought if I slept it would be better, but alas, when I awoke today, the same. Seriously, I could not turn my head more than just a bit before my neck and back of my head started to SCREAM! Desperate, I turned to Yelp for Help! I found Jade, at Marinas Massage. The Yelp reviews cited specific pain-relieving therapy that made me reach out. I sent her a text and was almost immediately rewarded with an 'I have an appointment at 1:45pm, will that work' return text. Her new address is 4210 West Vickery, so I set my GPS and off I went. Very non-descript location, red house with a VERY faded Larry Moore Realty sign in front. Limited parking, but my car fit just fine! Walked in, nice little waiting room and Jade came out immediately to greet me. She's a soft-spoken, gentle woman, clothed in scrubs, who was welcoming right away. I completed the intake, new customer form and REALLY liked the part where she talked about things that would naturally happen during a massage, such as falling sleep, movement of intestinal gas, sighing or yawning, etc. Made me so much more comfortable for some reason. Filled out the form and was led into the massage room. It was larger than most and had the most amazing spa-like smell. Great relaxing music playing and it was also set up for facials and other services, of which I did not partake today. Sooooo the massage. Starts out face down. Table has heated sheet/blanket underneath and one that covers you. She used some aromatherapy spay on the face rest, not sure what, but I didn't get all stuffy and sniffly like I usually do. She went right to the source of my problem, my neck on both sides and the back of my head and my shoulders. She worked tirelessly on the problem areas and still managed to hit the rest of my body too! She used varying pressure (and even said at the outset to let her know if I need more or less pressure), hot stones and I think MAGIC to make this happen. Quite frankly, she is the first massage person that I've felt comfortable enough with to ask her to adjust the pressure - just a little less firm. My massage was amazing! I left with increased range of motion and a serious decrease in neck pain. Hands down the best massage I have ever had----including expensive salons. I thought I had carpal tunnel syndrome in my left hand and arm. I made an appointment with Jade based on her amazing Yelp reviews. I had not had a massage in almost a year and had a lot of tension!! She used a special muscle therapy cream and really worked through all of the knots. I might've asked her to lighten up the pressure a little but I knew it was doing my body good (so don't worry, she has strong hands). Beware that the address listed here is not correct; she is on W. This was literally the best massage I have ever had. I don't know which part I liked the most- was it the heated blankets? Was it the incredibly soft sheets, the large size massage table (pretty much a twin size bed!), or the fact that she has hands of gold? Jade was excellent.
