I hadn't planned on shopping while I was in Montauk, but I had to check out the store after seeing the cute dresses in their window displays. The owner of the store, who I found out is responsible for all the buying, has amazing taste and a great eye for patterns and prints. I'd describe Next Door's look and feel as an eclectic mix of elegant, chic and quirky vacation wear. Think Calypso St. Barth meets Free People. The staff was very intuitive and friendly, leaving me alone when I just wanted to browse and ready to help when I had questions. They even took a dress down from their display for me because it was the only one left in the size I wanted. They're also very knowledgeable about what they have in their shop. When I was paying for the dress I picked out, the manager mentioned that they also carry a dress from the same collection in a different color and cut, and asked if I wanted to see it. The next time I'm in Montauk, I'll definitely be stopping by their shop again.

So, naturally, when in Greenport, I was basically on an all day high. Walking up and down the main street, there are a few little (and big) vintage and antique shops, but The Times Vintage was by far the coolest. It literally feels like you are stepping back in time a few decades (photos uploaded for proof). There's a section in the back that feels like a movie set from the 50s, except you can touch and shop. Ideal dream store basically. I almost immediately found a bag I loved and I am very rarely as decisive as I was when I proudly declared that I would be getting it. Perfect summer staple that I've been on the hunt for for awhile. I'm so happy I found it second hand! I can finally delete the Banana Republic and Jcrew versions I've had saved. They have everything from records to clothes to houseware, all very well curated and decently priced. Very much worth a visit.

This spot was a bit out of the way for me however the town is so nice we made a day trip of exploring the north fork. Being a fan of Ricky Teevees designs, this was a must go! This place is huge, the layout is fabulous. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was rather busy. The displays of everything are perfect & the space feels very lived in. Price wise this spot is up there however it's real vintage stuff. I didn't need any help however the staff seemed nice and played some good music :)

They also have many other items needed to enjoy when out on the east end. My good friend purchased a wetsuit in September to extend his swimming days when the weather turned colder. So he could swim in the bay or pool though chilly out! Not a surfer... a lawyer who loves to keep the swimming season going longer. Hahha. Matt, Eric and Chris were super helpful associates. Checking sizes, products via phone, checking stock in their affiliate stores and holding an item while driving over. It's especially important to get a wetsuit right size wise or water seeps in and its too cold for that. He loved the suit. Once he came over thinking the rear zipper broken... he couldn't reach the zipper tag or get out of it! I checked and it was inside out!! hahaha... Never put a wetsuit on inside out especially if you live alone.. could be trapped in your wetsuit. hahahaha three weeks later there was also a small tear ... and the manufacturer offered to repair via mail.. but so did Flying Point saving time and trips to the post office. Flying Point was great at getting the repair in and done efficiently. When I went to pick it up, just had to give my friends name and they went to the holding room and brought it right out. Its a good example of why a good local shop is really needed... when sizes vary significantly on items and brands. Shopping is so much more than price and mail service... Online retailers could never offer anything close to this great customer service and small town enjoyable experience.

As we were looking around have been in the store for about 15 minutes he was completely ignored. A gentlemen walks in and gets an immediate "hey how are ya" - fine I let it go. He tries on some clothes and at no point did he ever get a "hey can I help you find anything" or similar... instead we both were given dirty looks by a young gentleman on the floor and older woman at the register. We get to the register and carried out our purchase (No greeting until this point).. He's never felt immediate regret from purchasing clothing from a store until this experience. Giving the benefit of the doubt that hopefully this wasn't racial but please treat paying customers better..

It's a beautifully curated collection overflowing with incredible finds in every corner. It's run by one owner and features 12 unique vendors offering a wide range of items: tables, books, maps, flags, glassware, lamps, flags, baskets, nautical items, historical pieces, cute sunglasses -- basically everything you can think of and more. Some pieces are very reasonably priced, while others felt a bit steep, but the overall quality and variety makes it well worth exploring. The layout is impressive: there's street parking, two side parking lots, a spacious front store, two barns in the back, and a large outdoor area filled with beautiful teak furniture and garden décor. I'm officially obsessed -- hidden gems are tucked everywhere you look! Huge thanks to Pam for being so warm and helpful -- we truly appreciated your time. I found several fantastic pieces to use for my business displays and can't wait to return. They take cash and card. If you're in the area, this is an absolute must-stop! They're currently open 7 days a week, but be sure to check the hours before you go -- they closed at 5 p.m. when I visited. There's china, crystal, silver, lamps, jewelry, odds and ends, nautical thingies, etc. There's also a barn with furniture and chandeliers, also an enormous snake skin, I don't think it's from a local snake. Prices are on the high side for some things, but that's not surprising. Others are quite reasonable. It takes a while to wander the closely packed aisles. But that's very enjoyable. The owner is friendly and doesn't pester you, which is lovely. I swear I took a picture of the enormous snakeskin, but I can't find it.
