TL;DR:
I requested a honey balayage with caramel tones but instead, my hair was colored and recolored multiple times into completely different shades, including copper (which I never wanted). When I voiced my concerns, they were ignored, and I was blamed for the poor results--despite being told in my consultation that my hair was in great condition and my desired look was achievable. I spent five hours in the chair, paid $200 (plus a 20% tip out of kindness), and was then blocked when I requested a refund for the service. Now, I have to pay someone else to fix the damage. I do not recommend booking with Marie if you value honesty, professionalism, and accountability.

I had a truly disappointing and frustrating experience with Marie, and I feel compelled to share it so others can make an informed decision before booking.
I came in for a honey balayage with caramel tones, which we discussed and agreed upon in my consultation. However, throughout the appointment, my hair was colored and recolored three separate times into completely different shades, including copper, which I never asked for. I repeatedly voiced my concerns during the appointment, but my feedback was dismissed.
What made this experience even worse was that Marie completely backtracked on what she originally told me. Before I booked, she assured me that my hair was in great condition and that my desired color was fully achievable. But when things didn't turn out right, instead of taking accountability, she blamed me, saying my hair was "ruined" and would have needed to be chopped off--despite telling me the complete opposite before. That gaslighting and lack of honesty were just as upsetting as the poor result.
We spent nearly five hours in the salon (from 6:30 PM to past 11:30 PM), and I was still charged the full $200 for the service. Out of kindness, I even tipped 20%--not because I was happy with the results (I was not), but because I felt bad that she had spent so much time trying to correct something that clearly wasn't within her skill set. But at the end of the day, I should have been told upfront if my hair goals weren't achievable instead of going through multiple unnecessary processes, damaging my hair, and wasting time and money.
After the appointment, I reached out to request a refund for the service amount, given that the final result was nowhere near what was discussed and I now have to pay someone else to fix it. Instead of responding professionally, Marie blocked me. That level of unprofessionalism speaks volumes.
I left feeling unheard, frustrated, and devastated about my hair. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want a stylist who listens, communicates honestly, and takes accountability for their work. read more
