They have another place situated somewhere around the sea end of the Gòtic. It is a dive bar, deam light, no terrace. With the bar and a small room at the end. But people come here for the music, most recent rock and roll and indie music bands, the cheap medianas at 1 euro until 10 pm, and the nice service by the waiters. They even give you some peanuts and roasted corn for free. I have to say that I didn't notice any kind of weird smell that some other reviewer felt. Go early because it gets packed and the space is quite small (nor a problem if you want to have your space invaded). I also notice that they offer a few pasta dishes for 7 Euros, not a bad option if you want to go out all night.

Cheap food, good music, good drinks, helpful bouncers…read more However, I was physically assaulted by an employee. I had lost my wallet and was moving through the huge crowd on the floor, accidentally bumped into an employee (staff shirt and earpiece) and immediately apologized multiple times in both Spanish and English and explained that I lost my wallet, but he grabbed me by my shirt and screamed at me "I don't care about your wallet!" and shoved me away. I thought he was going to harm me physically with how loud he yelled at me, how tight he was gripping my shirt, and how angry he came off after a simple mistake and profuse apologies. Luckily, the bouncers at the door were helpful. I told them I lost a wallet and they immediately had it and asked basic questions of what it looked like and what was inside. Once I confirmed they gave it back, told me to be safe and to have a great night. I can't give this place more than 2 stars for the physical harassment and blatant disrespect I faced at the hands of an employee. That employee needs better training for how to deal with large crowds, which are super common here (I have been 10+ times). It seems that most of the employees, particularly the bouncers, are here to help, which is amazing. I love it here, but with this experience it's hard to want to come back.

There's few things more annoying in life than Google telling you somewhere is open, only to show up and find out it is not. I get it, that's Google, it's ultimately a 3rd party thing, and stuff can go wrong when that is setup. What I find unacceptable is when a businesses actual homepage is inaccurate. That's your homepage, and you're 100% responsible for making sure it is providing accurate information to your customers. So after finding their open hours, and being lured in by their offer for free futbolin from 17-21 every Friday and Saturday, I showed up at 1722 Saturday, August 22nd only to find their doors closed, and no signs of life at all. Thanks for making me come all the way down for nothing, and wasting a bunch of my time. I won't be back.

First off, we never came here for a full meal. Just drinks and tapas. The atmosphere here is…read moremellow: lighting a tad dim, TV's placed throughout but not loud or distracting. There's a full bar and although it seemed to get consistent business, was never crowded. This makes it great for either warming up before a big night out or a chill place to relax over a few drinks for those days you might want to refrain from going too hard. I should say we didn't find the alcohol selection particularly exciting: a couple variations of Leffe, Guinness and of course, no local tap lineup would be complete without Estrella. Pricing was slightly less expensive than what you would pay at bigger restaurants in the area - I believe the Leffe was about 4€ for a healthy pour. We probably paid 5€ at other places nearby. Advertised happy hour specials changed regularly and were a good value. Although we didn't have the opportunity to drop in for lunch, we did try the tapas which, while not exceptional, were still pretty tasty. The tortilla patatas were my favorite and I suppose the fact that I remember them at all is probably notable. I wouldn't be able to tell you the tapas value for price because I don't think we ever paid for them . . . Which is why El Otro is getting four stars today. We only ever sat at the bar here and although we didn't chat a whole lot with the bartenders, they were always very friendly - regularly checking in with us to make sure we were satisfied. They were patient and seemed receptive to our (often sad) attempts to order in Spanish. Whether taking shots with us or offering a sample of the tapas - all on the house - the bartenders always made sure to show their appreciation for our business and friendly attitude and we made sure to show our appreciation by tipping at the end of the night - something we almost never did in Barcelona. If you happen upon the Gracia district, stop in, be friendly and they'll treat you right. Customer service like this goes a long way when a lot of other bars and restaurants are taking their tourist customers for granted.
