Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. It is a perfect example of a thriving shop that has learned to adapt by keeping up with changing consumer tastes.

I don't think anything can ever beat the old Arcadia location when I got super cheap and nice cosmetics for around $1 (think Missha and Majolica Marjorca, but this only happened when things reopened after the lock down), but you can still find some good deals here. Similar to the Arcadia location, there's a mix of legitimate items here and a couple questionable, potentially bootleg items, so make sure you check and read the labels and compare prices online and the such. I like how this location plays into the culture and touristy-ness of the Little Tokyo with the daruma statue photo op in front and the pressed penny machine. I'm a sucker for pressed pennies, so this was nice. I've gotten super cheap sword props for cosplay, cute super cheap random character plushies and merchandise (think generic cats), and in an ocean of blind box slop shops in LT, I prefer Maneki Neko in comparison.

I have been using Marianna's products since 1997 and although I am 47 years old, honestly, everyone things I'm in my early 30's. I no longer live in Los Angeles, but I have it shipped to me in my new home in Iowa. My hairdresser just told me recently that even though she's been seeing me for 5 years, I haven't aged at all. Okay, I'm lucky, maybe it's the genes? But there is no way I'm going to switch from Marianna's fabulous Bone Marrow Cream. Nothing else works as well--I know, because in times when I was unemployed I tried everything else to find a less-expensive alternative. This is the first product review I have ever written online. I have gone to Mariana Chicet for many years. Their products are incredible. I have super sensitive skin and cannot use a lot commercial of products! These are first class. During the pandemic, I switched for a short while to some other organic products for the face.......but always used the squalene oil to remove eye make up. This is the only eye make up remover I have ever used that didn't irritate my eyes! And also the eye cream. I just returned to have a facial, which was amazing with Ana. I purchased new products and all the redness from my face has gone away. I highly highly recommend. read more

I asked what treatment would be more fitting for me at the beginning, and I pointed out some small bumps on my face as my main concern. Helen straight up told me there was nothing she could do about those bumps... bummer. I was hoping she'd at least try to extract them. Anyhow, I still went ahead and decided on a regular facial as she recommended. I thought I might as well get my other pores clean since I was already there. But little did I know I was wrong... more on this later. During the session I kept thinking it was more like a face/neck/chest massage than a facial. soothing but very little extraction was done. But then I have not been to that many facial places... so I decided to just keep an open mind and enjoy my time there. At the end of the session, Helen told me that my skin is pretty healthy, so I "only needed to return 2 more times to get all my pores cleansed & extracted", and she "might try to extract some of those little bumps next time"... why not today? because "Today's extractions were done for free." I was confused on so many levels--I thought extraction is always included in any facial treatment. She gave me a brochure which lists all of the treatments offered here, and nowhere could I find extraction listed under any treatment. Maybe it was my fault to assume that extractions = main part of any facial. It's true that I am not an expert in this. But how much would I need to pay if I want my extractions next time? Which treatment do I choose? I have no idea. I was also a little shocked to be told that my pores had to be extracted over 3 treatment sessions--I don't know, maybe my pores are more clogged than others', or maybe my big face has more pores so she couldn't extract them all in 1 hour. But that's like a hairdresser telling someone who has a lot of hair that she will cut half of her hair today and leave the rest until next time... it just doesn't make sense to me. There was no one waiting after me, either. I would much rather be asked to pay a little extra for a longer session and have my pores completely extracted. Overall--I can't look pass the fact that my esthetician let me go with most of my pores clogged, and my esthetician still made it sound like she did me a favor for extracting some of them. Not to mention that Helen didn't attend to the small bumps at all but she will only try next time. $60 + generous tips later... my face feels and looks the same. I tipped generously because Helen was nice and pleasant. she also gave good massages and apologized way too much for her accent. It wasn't her accent that had made me decide not to return. If you are looking for a relaxing session, this is fine. Just don't expect much skin improvement...

I wanted her to get a facial so that when she went up on stage for her musical, the makeup would go on smoothly. I reached out to Angelika by messaging her, and immediately she responded. The first sign of professionalism is when someone gets back to you immediately and she was just that, professional. I asked about a facial for my daughter and she said that she had a teen facial. The price was $45 for approximately 45 minutes. I asked for her availabilities and was able to get in the same weekend. Arriving, you must let the front know that you are there for Angelika's Aesthetics because her room is towards the back of the salon. She made her way to greet us and took us back to her room. I had to sign a waiver since she was underage. She also explained what she was going to do, a microdermabrasion and a mask afterwards. To begin, my daughter doesn't have acne or any skin issues. She actually has incredible skin. However, she doesn't wash her oily spots which is her nose area, really well. So there was a buildup of dirt and such, with her pores being larger in that area. Once her facial was done, I could definitely tell a difference in her nose area. Her face was light red from the microdermabrasion but nothing significant. Angelika told us to stay out of the sun. The very next day, when I looked at her nose area, her pores were almost non-existent and her face looked flawless. We put her stage makeup on today and it just glided on. Plus, she made my daughter comfortable during the whole facial (she's a shy child). The location was convenient, there was plenty of parking spots, and the salon was very clean.
