My cohortmates and I wanted to surprise someone w a little mariachi serenade for his 21st birthday. We found this business offering a virtual zoom serenade for 2 songs, played by 2 mariachi members in full uniform for $80. Their website and appointment system was clear and easy to navigate, and I noticed I had to be careful during booking cause they are going by east coast time and we were on the west coast. I was a little worried about the lack of positive yelp reviews, the fact that they need payment in full, and given the mariachi band surprise was going to be through a zoom link, it would be pretty easy to take the payment and not show up. I reached out to express my concerns and Mariela was very communicative and reassuring. I also asked for a text to confirm an hour before their scheduled time that everything would be good to go. She said, "Hi Connie,  We received the payment. We will text before connecting, no problem.  As per the reviews, we been in the industry for 10yrs having up to 20 events in a weekend during the busy season, unfortunately people are more inclined to leave many bad reviews for a mistake or a missed service caused for extreme bad situations where is out of our control or where we are involved in accidents. We always make it up to our clients or come up with a solution, but it's not mention after the fact. Versus leaving one good review for every 50 events of great service. It's a reality many businesses have now days." I appreciated her detailed response and it made me feel more at ease as a customer. Come the day of, true to their word I received a text 1 hr before confirming they were good to go. And they showed up on time. What also made me happy was they were very nice and accommodating as well. They typically give you a zoom link to click on during the appt time, but in our case I requested they enter our zoom link bc there were 20+ of us all connecting from home. They said 'no prob'. I also asked if they could mix in our birthday boy's name in a song or message and they said also said 'sure' and gave a short intro saying 'this song is for ____ from your friends and we'd all like to wish you a HBD'. It sounds small but its a nice personalized touch that makes things a little more special, esp during covid. I took off a star just cause I felt it was a bit pricey for 2 songs time and esp given everything was done virtually. But I still had a good experience. Thanks for the mariachi service! This past Mother's Day my cousin planned a beautiful party for my Aunts including a Mariachi band. She reserved the band and put down a deposit over a month ago. My Aunts always wanted a Mariachi and on Mother's Day the band was scheduled to arrive at 4:00, and we understood that they maybe late due to the holiday but 5:30,6:30,7:30 and they never showed up. We called and called and no response back with and update. Quite upsetting to everyone when that was their gift on their special day. Finally we get a text saying we're not respecting their time? What? Your in the service industry and made a commitment. Very unprofessional, the band should know how many events they can handle and not over book. Do not book. I hired a Mariachi band for an event last night and they never showed. I called to see what was going on and the person I spoke to didn't know why they weren't there. After finally getting in touch with the band, I was told that "their car was broken into" and that they would be there in 40 minutes. Over 2 hours later then scheduled. They did not reach out to tell me what was happening and when I asked why I wasn't contacted I was told "the band didn't let her know". If I didn't call would I have not been contacted? Never showed up. One of those moments when you realize you should have checked yelp before hiring someone. As with others, I paid a deposit, scheduled them for a really important life event (50th birthday!), and they simply didn't show up, didn't text or call or write, and then ghosted me and never returned my deposit. We had a great party, so we're fine: but what kind of person does this to people on the biggest days of their lives? It's really astounding. So disappointing. Booked this groups for a surprise birthday party. They texted that they were stuck in traffic. 2 hours later. No show, no communication after the initial text. 3 hours go by, multiple texts sent and phone calls made, no answer. Final text, " sorry they won't be able to make it, will refund your money." After having a confirmation with them, I find this very unprofessional. They didn't make proper scheduling of their time and left us without entertainment on a special day. I have mixed feelings about there performance at my mother in laws birthday party. I reached out to them a few days in advance to ask about songs we wanted them to sing but they never got back to me. Then I called the day of and none of the songs that we wanted were in their collection. They did show up early which was good and did an ok job at the party even though we didn't know any of the songs played. Anyway, thank you for the service but we will not hire again. read more

We tried to contact them all day starting at 9 am (texting, calling, etc) to confirm and they didn't answer back until 7!! We had a 300 person gala, that they didn't even bother to show up to after they verbally confirmed with me earlier in the week! Such a disappointment!
