The Mariachi Divas performed live on stage and while under a large canopy for a school fundraiser. This, while it was raining in the city of Covina, Ca on 05/20/22. For a hour or two, the Divas were not able to perform on stage due to the stage being very wet, slippery and dangerous. The rain did not stop these ladies as they simply performed under the covered areas while stopping at numerous tables to perform great and traditional Mexican mariachi music. At times, even taking requests from festival guests including one of my all-time favorites, El Rey. When the rain stopped at about 10:00 pm, the Divas took to the stage and performed for another hour. The Divas were AMAZING!! They are true professionals, they are fun to watch, they interact with the audience the entire time, they are funny but most of all, they are incredible musicians. They regularly perform at Disneyland's California Adventure, they are two-time Grammy award winners and have produced and released seventeen albums. Their 18th album is scheduled to be released on May 28th, 2022 according to the Diva's leader and founder, Cindy Shea who also plays trumpet for the group. I hired Mariachi Divas to play for my daughter's quince. Her heart was set on having a female Mariachi and after searching I realized there weren't too many local female groups. They were actually all booked even the Divas, but after reaching out to Cindy Shea and told her how much this meant she said she would see if she could gather a few other Divas for that day. She did just that! When she sent me the contract I was ecstatic! The stressful part for me the text only communication, but for the future I know that they will come through. Thank you Divas! I personally would not hire them again. My family has hired them twice. The first being about 3 years ago for my dad's 65th birthday and this last time for my mom's 60th birthday. They were amazing the first time around, not so much the second time. The booking process is horrible. I felt like I was in a toxic relationship - I was left on read and wouldn't get a response to my text messages. First off. Their contract says that your event is not booked until you make the deposit and they confirm receipt of the payment. Well, once I made the payment it took numerous text messages and days for them to confirm receipt of the deposit. Then she got irritated asking what I needed. Since it's their contract and their terms, you would expect them to know what they require. Second. I asked for the playing time to be changed. Cindy didn't respond until 15 days later, and asked me if we still needed them to play. She said something about losing her phone or contacts.... Third. The day of the event - they didn't bring any microphones or speakers. I remember that for the first event they did. So it was hard to hear them. Fourth, one of the singers didn't want to play a song because they had already played it. However, the person making the request was the owner of the house and the one paying them. An aunt who is very outspoken, made it known that it wasn't right. Overall, they are talented but it seems like they think every gig is beneath them as they play at Disneyland and recently recorded a song with a famous Mexican singer. They need to have someone else manage their bookings as it seems it's too much for Cindy to perform and respond to text messages. Honestly, I regret hiring them. read more

This is a long overdue review....In one word: Excellent My father unexpectedly passed away on a Wednesday in late February. My mother wanted an immediate party thrown that Saturday afternoon for him...AND mariachis. She did not want a funeral, but a party and celebration of my dad. Obviously it was last minute and stressful but I needed to pull off some joy for my mom amid the sorrow of the occasion...The Mariachi Divas helped me do just that. I knew about the group as my mom is a mariachi fan and my dad frequented Manuel's El Tepayac where the ladies play sometimes on Sundays. My neighbors had seen them play at the local church festival the year before...Yet, this is not just some "local" band...These ladies are the utmost professionals and skilled in their musical craft. I contacted Cindy by phone/ e-mail and she got back to me promptly via text since she was leading the groupo in a practice. We discussed her availability that afternoon and thankfully her group was available (often such high caliber groups are book Saturdays for weddings or Saturday evenings as parties/restaurants....). Their pricing was simply explained. It was not cheap, but was reasonable. You have to be willing to pay for such skill/professionalism. Cindy was even gracious enough to add an additional performer to the number of players we requested because she thought it would sound better. Two days before the party, Cindy asked me for a list of requested songs that we would like played...It seemed they knew all the songs except for one, my parents wedding song...OH NO! but Cindy came through for us before the party by having a special practice session so the ladies could learn my parents wedding song...My parents had been together 38 years, just celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary the year before...It was such a thoughtful gift and a testimony to this group that they made this special effort for my mother. You would of never known they didn't know the song hours before and all the ladies were relieved with smiles they pulled it off with such short notice... This day was the first time that my family members had to come to our home without my father being there to greet them... but I like to think that as all of us mourned that my father's spirit of joy was there. Although they sound beautiful do not attempt to order any merchandise. I ordered a CD on 9/18/20 for my mother for her birthday and it never arrived. I sent an inquiry 2 weeks later on 9/30 and was told by Cindy herself it was "missed" and would take care if that day. I understood since we are all busy and I excused it. One week later I received a text from her assistant informing me they would offer me another CD free of charge due to their mistake. I accepted thinking finally the CDs would be mailed to my mother that day. Another week went by and still no CDs nor updates. I sent another text today to her assistant and I was told it should arrive on Saturday (today is Thursday). So after a month of waiting for one simple CD I cancelled the order. read more

I enjoyed watching the Live stream of the Divas on YouTube last night. My husband and I enjoy watching them perform every time we are at Disneyland. It is a must see/do for us with each park visit. Amazing is too small a word to describe these ladies. I have hired this group several times for my family events and each time they deliver the most beautiful and professional performance. Yesterday was my grandfathers funeral and the girls did an outstanding job. I texted Cindy only 4 days before the funeral and she made time to make sure my grandpa had a beautiful send off. The 4 girls who came, sang and played so beautifully. My family who was in from out of town were very impressed with their authenticity and talent. I tried and tried and tried again to book for my daughter's nuptials for February of next year and nothing! I left a message on phone, text, emailed, filled out a form on their website and still nothing. Outstanding. We encountered them on a rainy afternoon in California Adventure. We were having a late lunch at the Paradise Grill outdoor patio. The food was surprisingly good for an amusement park but we were wet and tired. The Mariachi Divas soon cheered us up with their lively tunes. We couldn't help tapping our toes and dancing to the music. The place was empty when they started singing but their fun and happy music soon drew a crowd. My niece and nephews were too shy, but the divas had some shakers, clappers and other simple instruments to let any willing audience members participate in their joyful music. They even got a conga line going at one point. They sang Mexican songs interspersed with English Christmas carols and a few Disney tunes. I may not understand Spanish but the divas' sunny dispositions, their angelic voices and overall musical prowess is universally appealing. When I Googled them, I found out they were Grammy award winners, a very high caliber of musical entertainment that is above and beyond the usual amusement park live entertainment. I attempted to book Mariachi Divas for my sons 4th birthday party in October, but the communication was completely off. I initially messaged them April 20th. I received a response April 21st in which I then responded to that day. I never received a response to that message regarding a deductible so I messaged them again on April 30th. They responded on May 10th regarding a contract. I emailed them back with all of my information that day and still haven't heard anything back from them. I understand they are very busy with all of the craziness of Disneyland and Coco events, but I found this to be very unprofessional. I have since found another mariachi band who will also play the Coco songs that initially drew my attention to Mariachi Divas. It is great that Mariachi Divas has enough business to keep them busy, but I suggest management let customers looking to hire them for business know they cannot take on more clients. read more

OMG I AM GETTING CHILLS WRITING THIS. The Divas played my wedding and it was all anybody has been talking about since. They are the most TALENTED, BEAUTIFUL, HUMBLE performers available and I'm so honored I got them to Catalina Island to entertain my guests and share my heritage with them. They were my first choice but given their stardom I didn't get my hopes up. I interviewed so many mariachi and I can tell you that even though they are called the Divas, they were nothing but angels to me and my family. It took a few tries to reach them (they're busy and famous, duh) but I did it and they were perfect. It was important to me that I have an all female team of vendors because I have many little girls in my family and I wanted to show them that you can be anything you want to be! My little nieces danced to Coco songs and my tias and Nina and nana danced to all the classics. The Divas were gracious, accommodating, PUNCTUAL, and just flawless. They played after my ceremony through the cocktail hour and I remember trying to get my veil off in the bathroom in a hurry because I wanted to go dance to Volver, Volver! Seriously, Cindy if you're reading this -- I owe you everything. You made my wedding something I'll never forget and that my guests will always cherish. The Divas played at my daughters Birthday. It was the best and most memorable experience we have had to date and just keeps coming back from friends and family. Cindy and the ladies (Divas) played several songs and many sentimental family songs that had so much meaning. Needless to say we had tears of joy in our eyes and so much feeling in our hearts. This presentation was the best 2 hours of a birthday that anyone could ask for. My family is from Panama and we listen to Calypso and Merengue which the girls played very well and knew. AMAZING!!!!!! My husband and I hired Mariachi Divas for our wedding. We could not have picked a better Mariachi to take charge of our mass/wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Very professional, friendly, excellent musicians and the director, Cindy Shea, she was open to hearing what we wanted for songs. When we asked for a particular singer to sing Ave Maria, she was not available, but Cindy made it happen and at least Melina, my husband's favorite, she was willing to go sing the Ave Maria which many of our guests reported got goose bumps when they heard her sing. Check her out on you tube, beautiful!. Our guests continue raving about these ladies, amazing voices, outfits beautiful, they even matched our wedding color, turquoise. They looked beautiful. I, the bride, wanted a particular song to be sung for the procession which was not in their repertoire but Cindy learned it and they performed it and it was absolutely beautiful. They did a little private serenade and the fees were very reasonable. They arrived to the ceremony site like one hour before the event and they traveled from far on the hottest day of 2010!
