I had a laparoscopy with Dr Smith on April 21st. She was an amazing doctor and incredible surgeon. A few days later, I tried to reach her because my pain was off the charts and I couldn't keep any food down. This was an emergency. The entire day, we tried reaching her through the office and the front desk people would not give her a message, would not let us wait on hold to talk to her between patients, consistently hung up on us when we said that it was an emergency. It was 5:30pm before Dr. Smith knew that we needed to contact her. I landed in the ER and was re-hospitalized because of this place. I am horrified to imagine what other patients may have gone through because of poor management. Please look somewhere else if you can; do not trust these people with your health or the health of your fetus.

Front desk staff and nurse were kind, and based on the reviews I was genuinely hopeful going in. Then Dr Elias came in and it fell apart. He never once addressed my mom directly, even after learning she needed a translator, he spoke only to me, as if she wasn't there. He asked a couple of rushed questions, had her undress, then removed her drainage tube without explaining a single step. It hurt her, and she had no idea what was happening because he never said a word to prepare her. He said it was infected, walked out, then came back and handed us a slip for antibiotics. No explanation of why it got infected, how to care for the area, what to avoid, or what to watch for. When I turned to ask if my mom had questions, he was already walking out the door. My mom had other concerns she wanted to raise, but after being brushed off like that, she didn't bother. That says everything about how this visit made her feel.

I've seen three other doctors - all highly regarded professionals, two affiliated with the UCLA medical system and one in private practice - and all of them emphatically confirmed I do NOT have that condition. I would never trust Dr. Vu. The whole experience with her was unpleasant, topped by a frightening diagnosis of a serious condition that was discredited by three other physicians.

This first visit, my BP read at stage 2 hypertension (i was later informed). Dr. Toni Vu entered the room with 2 students who were shadowing her. She didn't warn me or ask me if I was okay with the student doctors she just came in very arrogantly and didn't seem to care about my feelings. I asked her a series of questions, which she answered reluctantly as if she were annoyed with all of them. I asked her if my prenatals were good, and I tried showing her the ingredients, and she didn't even give it the time of day she just dismissed me and said yeah yeah they're fine. For most of the visit, she sat in a chair, and she didn't write anything down she let the students write everything. She told me everything looked good and didn't bring up my history of hypertension, which was on her chart since I've been a patient of Care for Womens for years now. She also didn't point out to me that my BP reading at this particular visit was really high, especially for pregnant women. She put on my visit that my medical history was non-contributory... now that I know more, i realize my medical history, my age, and it being my 1st pregnancy was the utmost contributor. She didn't bring up any of this to me. I'm not sure if the OBs discriminate against insurance or even against race, but looking back, i did not get good treatment from Dr. TONI VU from the getgo. I should have run from this establishment and never looked back. She was rude and lacked compassion. She also put all these notes for this visit that she checked all these physical things on me, which she didn't. Thanks for no help, Dr. TONI Vu, I hope you're proud of how you provided guidance to me and my baby who didn't survive. What is the point of going to doctors when they don't want to guide their patients properly, or they just treat you like a number? Then they wonder why people are always doing their own research nowadays.

Recently, I was talking with my girlfriends and realized I should still share my experience, even though it's been three years. There are a couple of reasons why I would never choose Dr. Sura as my doctor again. The first few visits were fine. They were very short, mostly just checking that everything was okay. But as I got closer to my due date, a couple of things happened that left me very dissatisfied. On my due date, I went to her office for an exam, and she performed a membrane sweep. If you've ever had this done, you know it freaking hurts! She never told me beforehand that she was going to do it or asked for my consent. I did not want a membrane sweep, and I was so upset and in pain. She just went in and did the sweep. Secondly, after delivery, she did not stitch me up properly!!!!! When I went back to have her check, she told me there was nothing she could do about it and that she could fix it when I had another baby. I don't remember exactly what I said in response, but I remember her words: "Don't you want to give your son a little brother or sister? You'll be back in a year or so. I know you will." It's been three years, and I'm not planning to have another baby anytime soon. I went back because I had a concern about my healing, and that response made me feel dismissed. Based on my experience, ladies, I would recommend choosing another OB-GYN.

I've been with her since my first pregnancy and have had the best experience. (I developed preeclampsia towards the end of my pregnancy, which was scary, but Dr. Fuller reassured me and made sure that my baby was delivered safely!) It is often times difficult to find doctors like her nowadays so definitely recommend her to anyone needing an OBGYN! Also, office is clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming when you come in.

I have recently been a 3yr caregiver to a parent who recently died of cancer. A brother with a sudden death. And an Uncles sudden death all within 16 months that my mental health and especially anxiety has overcome my mind and life. So a medical professional not caring about the well being of my anxiety is not helpful to my current personal mental state. NP Fuller knew from our first appointment about my anxiety with internal procedures being done and should've been mindful or even cared to put in her notes to hide the barbaric instructions before me walking into the room. Because after seeing these extremely long metal clamps and cutter was when my anxiety and fear overwhelmed me. There was no effort to explain what we were seeing, no reassurance, and we weren't offered any ultrasound printouts of our baby at all. The entire visit felt transactional, like he was trying to get us in and out as fast as possible. He also asked me in front of my partner if I had an std in the past. Granted me and my partner share everything with eachother, the doctor doesn't know our dynamic . Typically, doctors ask these questions in private, either on forms or one on one time, to respect patient privacy and reduce embarrassment or discomfort. Pregnancy is an emotional and important time, and bedside manner matters. Unfortunately, this provider comes across as rushed, dismissive, and lacking compassion. I would not recommend him to anyone looking for attentive, patient-centered prenatal care. Safe to say, we are searching for a new doctor. Also, the front desk girl is very rude. She doesn't greet you at all. She rudely said " name?".. THAT was my greeting. So cold and rude.
