There was an older gentleman sitting in a chair hooked up to oxygen behind the counter. Strange, but whatever. Turns out some of the good scotch on the shelf was in an aisle that was inaccessible to walk in -- covered and blocked by big shelf. I asked the employee if he'd let me walk behind the counter and into the aisle with the good scotch so I could take a look. He shook his head no. So, I walked out.

The lady clerk behind the counter ( and yes more glass enclosure) was very polite and pleasant! I saw the standard items for sale. Cold beer, cigarettes and cigars, ice, canned goods; etc. and the prices seem fair! But once again; when I shop I insist on handling my prospective purchases! I don't buy bent cans and I religiously look at expiration dates. This whole concept of shopping from behind a glass enclosure is alien to me and I don't like it! I deducted one star because I can't select and choose my purchases. I don't want to be too hard on these folks. They have pretty much eliminated their shoplifting problem! I will not make a purchase here as I insist on making my own selections!

You better know what you want because the clerk is being kept from other tasks with any indecision you may have. This place is NOT located in a bad area. I'm not sure how many 750 ml bottles of liquor people steal, but the threat must somehow be real. I felt a bit like a criminal with my eyes darting around, not sure what I wanted. If I wasn't sure, did I look suspicious? I finally just left and drove a couple miles to a place with more inventory ALL merchandised out in the open so I could browse. Spent $80 so this place lost a sale with this silly concept. Maybe they save money on staff this way!?
