VIÑA DEL MAR , CHILE
I spent January 2015 in Chile. One of the places I and my companion traveled to was the coastal town of Viña del Mar. I have been there many times while traveling to Chile to visit friends. This time we were walking around trying to decide where and what to eat. Finally deciding to try Margarita's for some Mexican food. My Chilean friend is not too fond of Mexican food but I convinced her to try it.
I should have listened to my friend. I ordered the Chimichanga. My friend ordered some kind of combination. My Chimichanga was horrible.
The worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Then add to the experience that our waiter actually stood 8 feet from our table watching us eat and just stared at us. He stood there looking at us for about 15 minutes. Paleeeze !
I tasted some of my friend's food to see if she fared any better. No. Her food was just as bad. Now, full disclosure, I'm from Chicago,Illinois ( USA ).
We have a plethora of Mexican restaurants in the Chicagoland area and I have eaten in many of those Restaurants. I do know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. I have eaten Mexican food in Mexico, Arizona, California , Chicago , even in Santiago. But never have I eaten Mexican food that tasted like cardboard. This stuff was terrible.
I will return to Viña some day, but never will I return to Margarita Restaurant.
Only one sound to describe their food. Uuffffff. read more
