What they did have was pretty good. Tthey had Leg Avenue costumes and a few other Mass Market retailer costumes, but they also had some others which appeared to have been either theater quality or previous rental style up for grabs. Prices were decent as well. Not only do they offer costume, but also all the accessories, wigs and makeup to go with, so that's a big plus. What a great thing to have in town!

But as of a few months ago I guess it was waiting for someone to occupy and that's where Halloween City comes in to play. I believe the Halloween City has been here and opened for at least 2 maybe 3 weeks now. And I must say I do believe this is a first for Portsmouth, VA. It seemed like before, Halloween City locations were set up in every city in Hampton Roads except Portsmouth. But no need to fret any longer Halloween City is here and they're fully stocked. Well it looked like they were to me. The workers were standing by to offer any assistance. And the manager or owner of the store was jovial from the moment I walked in until the time I left. And he promised me a coupon when I return next time! Now I must say, it was maybe 2 handfuls of guests shopping last night so crowd control was superb for the workers. I can only imagine as the holiday nears it's going to be craaazy getting into there. And parking is decent right now. But as volume increases not sure how the parking will hold up... It'll be interesting to see. Nevertheless, go shop now while most sizes are still available and parking isn't an issue. They're offering 20% off of a single item (coupon needed). Costumes for everyone are here. Masks! Tats! Decor! Just go see. The spacing of the aisles are ok. Some areas are tight in maneuvering, but it's not a huge deal. It's Halloween it's all fun anyway. They were ready when I arrived and looked adorable. They have something for every single occasion in this store and it's a great one stop shop for party items and balloons. This location is super convenient and parking isn't too bad either. The line can sometimes be super slow, but I believe the employees do their best to move the line as fast they can. I do not believe this location has a clearance section, if so, I haven't found it. But other locations do, so keep your eyes open for that. You just may find something you didn't even know you needed or wanted :) Check them out if you are in the area. Other shopping is nearby such as: Food Lion, Dollar Tree and Burlington.
