This McDonalds has recently been renovated to the new style where you can order your food on the…read moretouch screens if your paying by card/contactless. If you have read my review of the McDonalds at Junction 32, then you'll already know that I am not a big fan of this new styling. While the place looks nice inside, I still think that the overall system of ordering/collecting your food needs more work. It's a good idea in pricipal, it just doesn't seem to execute very well. For example, say I am paying cash, so I need to go to the manned till. All I want is a milkshake or tea/coffee etc. So I pay the member of staff at the till and then have to queue again at the collection point (like in argos!). This never used to happen before as the member of staff would get my drink there and then. When you combine all the orders that have been placed through the touch screens and manned tills, this can sometimes end up being quite a wait! For the kids, there are touch screens and the tables so children can be entertained. They have also added the recycling bins too, but does everybody really put the right rubbish in the right bin? I have a feeling not. On the whole, just a standard McDonalds with a facelift. I eargerly await to see if they improve the ordering/collection system.

This Mcdonald's is actually situated on the Kingswood retail park in Hull, set slightly back from…read moreAsda. It is well situated, close to restaurants, a bowling alley and a cinema. This Mcdonalds is quite large, and has a seating area inside, picnic tables outside, a car park, and a drive through. It is currently undergoing some renovations and improvements, so the drive through is currently closed, but the staff have said it will be re-opened within a couple of weeks. This Mcdonalds serves the usual array of fast food, and always has the limited additions available. Mcdonalds food is cheap, filling, and I find it tasty! You can get children's meals from £2, and snacks from as little as 69p. The service in this Mcdonalds is always good. It is normally very fast service, with polite staff.

I am basing my review on a recent wedding I attended and can only comment on my stay here…read more Like most weddings, you tend to stay in the venue the wedding is taking place. Considering this venue deals with wedding guests a lot you would assume it is equipped for it. I stayed the night before and the night of the wedding. The room I stayed in had no iron/ ironing board to prepare for the wedding. Meaning most, would have creased up shirts/ dresses and un-groomed hair, unless you bought them ready pressed and your own hair dryer. We tried to make the bride/grooms bedroom a bit more romantic and special, but found the bedroom with an unclean/unmade bed and no clean towels. When we asked the reception about this (two very helpful ladies) stated they only clean the rooms every 3 days (for reference, the groom stayed in the room the night before). Although I appreciate to save on energy, water and wages, they don't need to clean the rooms everyday. It makes sense for the night of the wedding to show some professional courtesy and check the bride/grooms room is up to standard. Please note. After asking reception they got the cleaning department to resolve the matter. All was ok eventually. Overall the venues was nice and the wedding event was a success. However, I felt the need to review to hopefully highlight the issue and help the venue to be better.

I was impressed and intrigued by their menu and was not disappointed. I have visited this location under other ownership and management before, and they finally have seemed to get it right! My friend and I decided that a late Friday afternoon would be the best time to go to avoid any massive queueing and surprisingly we were correct. It was an absolute delight, from the warm atmosphere to the friendly and unobtrusive waitress to the impeccable food. They also had a great selection of drinks, including beer on tap and spirits. All of the food is made with fresh local ingredients, and if there is something that is not on the menu that you want, the chef is quite accommodating if you ask. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, well laid-out, has a good intimate feel to it, and great light from windows that span the front of the building. My companion and I shared the Italian Job Ciabatta (Italian style meatballs sauteed in Napoli sauce and topped with melted Mozzarella cheese), the Bacon and Brie Ciabatta (both came with a side salad and home made cole slaw) and an order of onion rings. Both sandwiches were very large and tasty, but the bacon and Brie had to be my favourite. The onion rings were golden brown, tasty and cooked to perfection. We were both impressed by the exemplary service, fantastic menu, vast selection of drinks on offer, interesting wine list and reasonable pricing. it is nice to have a restaurant in town that has a nice decor, quick service and that is reasonably priced. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for someone looking for great tasting food and good value. I look forward to trying their outdoor tapas menu and enjoying some of their live music evenings (every Wednesday and Friday from 7:30PM) in the future!
