Guys, do not use this attorney! Or else you waste your time and money, and worst case, he'll make you lose money!! If I could pick zero star, I would've done so! I used this attorney for child support case. I listed below the bad experience I had with him and his office. 1. Communication is terrible. Office didn't pick up phone, reply email promptly. It's common that in one week or two your case is not moving. Gomez himself also didn't reply your text on time. He could show up 3 weeks later! In my case, the worst time, he and his office didn't reply me and didn't show up after one month when I decided to fire him! 2. No organization. He forgot my appointment after I spent 1 1/2 hr to drive to his office! I had to reschedule and drove another 11/2 hr back home. Either office failed to notify him about my ex's lawyer's letter, or he forgot, I only got 1 day to response ex's requirement of production of document before due date. It was terrible that I had to spend overnight to provide tons of inducements! 3. Not professional at all. This is the worst! Didn't advise child support could be retroactive to the filing date. This is basic legal knowledge, but he failed to inform me. Basically he wasted me 5 months to work on the case but not even file to the court. I lost the time to file retroactive my child support. If he had filed my case in the early phase, I could've claimed child support back to the filing date. Instead, I had to fire him after 5 months and find a new lawyer to represent my case. The positive first: Mr. Gomez is very polite and pleasant. He is good in Court. He is in Court a lot. He has been an attorney for over 30 yrs. and knows the law. The negative: This office seems to function on quantity and is very lacking on quality. Mr. Gomez has many clients, too many, and sometimes has to lawyer out a case. The office staff is never capable of answering a question regarding your case. They give you the run around, "Let me check on that, Call back, Mr. Gomez is in Court, and this went on for (3) months before I finally had my question answered. Very remiss as to what is going on with your file; missing documents that you have provided them for your case. If you choose to go with this Attorney, make sure you keep duplicates of everything you provide the office with. Make your own file for the Court Room, and take your file on the Court day, as most likely when the opposing attorney needs a document pertaining to your case, the document will be provided by you from your file, as Mr. Gomez,s file is in disarray. My experience is still not over, I am stressed with this office and am totally lacking in any confidence that my case is being attended to as this attorney over books his clients and the results of that leaves a lot to be desired. Worst experience ever. He plays on people's desperation and does not deliver the job you pay for. The only reason I filed BK was because I had liens and to stop a $1300 a month garnishment. I am a single mom of 4, so that is when I contacted Mr. Gomez. The only thing he did was stop the garnishment & took my money. Fast forward 2 years, trying to sell my house, I found out he never filed the proper forms to lift the liens, now I am about to lose my house, because Mr. Marcus Gomez WILL NOT RETURN MY PHONE CALLS. If I could give zero stars and a negative I would. Straight nightmare! First, check out his Cal Bar discipline for spending his client's settlement check, because he was in a financial bind. HE IS VERY negligent, takes months to answer emails/calls. Schedules meetings only to discuss what he said he WOULD do 3 meetings ago. He filed paper work without sending it to me for review. I showed up to court, waiting for him, only to find out he called the court that morning to reschedule the trial, without notifying me (twice)! This guy even had the nerve to leave the Norwalk courthouse, during trial, and sent me a text saying he had to go to LA!! The judge asked me where was my attorney!! He never listened to anything I requested of him. He is all about getting your $ and nothing else. I'm still struggling, because I retained him. I cant believe I paid for a nightmare!! I highly recommend you seek other Counsel and stay far away from this attorney. I am in the United States Army and hired, Marcus Gomez, to represent me for my Divorce case in January 2010. Marcus Gomez never communicated with me, never responded to any of my emails, never returned any of my phones calls, never entered any of the appropriate documents I sent him for Trial, never sent me any documents to review before filed, never sent me any documents to review from opposing counsel, never briefed me on what is going on with my case or what he is doing with my case, has taken money from my family and not completed the services he was paid to do, has never sent me any billing information, never submitted the appropriate documents for Trial in April 2010 resulting in opposing counsel falsifying the Judgment by adding orders that were not Order at Trial, opposing counsel also removed orders that were actually ordered at Trial, and Marcus Gomez was not even in the court room at the last hearing causing the Judge to sign the illegal Judgment from the Petitioner's attorney. Marcus Gomez took advantage of me being on active duty Army. He never did as I asked or answered any of my questions. The last conversation with Marcus Gomez started off with these first words by him "I am doing your God Damn Appeal." He will throw at you he has been on the news but will fail to leave out his disciplinary actions in the past. If this is the attorney that you would like to represent you then by all means hire him. He wasted 9 months of my time and has caused me to lose a majority of my visitation with my children, doubled my Child Support, gave the Petitioner all Community Property after I requested numerous times to have it divided, informed Marcus Gomez of all the Contempts against the Petitioner and refused to submit paperwork. The secretaries in his office have caused numerous errors to my documents resulting in major issues. They still have never sent me copies of documents I have requested.
