I saw multiple pairs of travelers forced to sit apart because there was simply no space. They crammed people in like sardines. The tiny selection of food was awful, and the coffee was so bad I actually had to throw it away, and I don't even have high standards when it comes to coffee. Thank God for Priority Pass, because I can't imagine anyone willingly paying for access to this place.

The one complaint I have is there is only one bathroom stall per gender.

It was pretty empty when we arrived around 7AM. It had coffee, tea, and an assortment of pastries, lots of beverages (Schwepps, Coke, etc.) , cereals, yogurts. I wish they offered fresh fruit like oranges, apples, or bananas. enough seating and TVs. Restrooms were inside the lounge so that was nice we didn't have to exit. They were also clean.

I decided to visit Florence first, mostly because there are no direct flights from NY to FLR and I wanted to get the longer/layover trip out of the way first. After a quick pit stop in AMS, I finally reached my destination in FLR. After landing, I could definitely see why there are no direct flights from the US (maybe?) here - FLR is a pretty small airport. Because our flight was short, we actually boarded and exited the plane on the tarmac and after a short bus ride were shuffled to baggage claim. Everything was really efficient - I didn't interact with many staff members but the bags came quickly. In terms of aesthetics, FLR seems kinda dated/tired - but if you can look past that it has all the amenities that make it a good airport. Clear signs, speedy service, and a rail just outside arrivals that leads you to the city center. Overall, nothing outstanding about FLR from my perspective but also nothing negative - it got me out of the plane and to my destination quickly which I all I can really ask for.

No!! Not here, the group assignment on your ticket is of no concern. And then you find out why - everyone rushes to the line and then you find out you're not actually boarding a plane but being taken by bus all around the outside of the airport . Do you leave after the bus is full? No! They stuff you in like a sardine and then you stand for 30 minutes before being taken to the plane. Then everyone bales off and it's like a gladiator fight to reach the stairs up to the plane. No wonder Italy is a haven for pickpockets (don't get me started on the buses or the train stations) with everyone shoving and crunching all of the time. I hate to say it, but I hated the bigger cities in Italy.
