From the moment we connected via email, I had a good feeling about her. She responded promptly, and she even communicated with me via text message, which I found very personable and accessible. Inside is a beautifully decorated office space, I would call it quite simple and zen. She gave me a little tour on my first visit. One of the many things I enjoy about my sessions with Jessica is that she takes the time to ask me questions about how I have been doing over the last couple of weeks. She is a wonderful listener and is always concerned about how I am feeling and what is going on in my life. She always remembers what we spoke about and remembers my loved ones' names, which I find very thoughtful and nice. After we catch up on life, she asks me what my main concern(s) are currently. I tell her what they are and then she proceeds to guide me through a meditative hypnosis wherein we focus on the topic or person of my choice. From the first session, I felt a weight lifted off my chest. Three sessions after that, I feel more empowered, confident, and peaceful. Meditation is something I have been learning and practicing for a few years. At times during meditation, one can feel vulnerable and fearful. I feel protected and safe when Jessica guides me through a meditation/hypnosis, and that is extremely important for it to be effective. Hypnosis was something I have never done before, but always wanted to try. I have learned in my personal studies that much of our inner healing takes place when we are silent and still. I find that silence to be very healing - even though it's hard sometimes to be still and silent for longer than 5 minutes for someone as restless as me. She guides me through a meditation that I helped create (my happy place is a beautiful beach). She has also guided me through other various hypnotic states. I have learned how to better meditate and visualize whatever results I want. I have also learned how to focus more on gratitude and less on fear-based thought patterns and behaviors. It's hard to describe how helpful meditation and hypnosis are - but I believe they're the best kind of therapy that exist. Jessica is one of the most kind hearted and also professional people I have ever worked with. She has given me tools that I can take with me and use any time in my life. She has a VERY calming presence and voice, and she fluctuates her tone during the hypnosis, which I find to be very pleasant and relaxing. I felt heard, seen, and felt. She gave good examples and dialogue that I could absorb and understand, which I very much appreciated. I liked that I received a few MP3 audios to continue doing the work, making time to listen 2-3x daily. Even after 7-sessions, I don't feel, just the in-person sessions would have been enough. For the issue that I came in to work on, I'm still working through it. I know every individual is different and hypnotherapy works differently for each person. It's not overnight or immediate for each person to work through things. I think it's good, there is a free consultation initially to see if the relationship could move forward. If you could be receptive, if you're both a good match, if she could actually help you. But then, I was a bit caught off guard with having to commit to a 7-session package, $1225 out the gate. I felt that could have been explained a bit more in the phone call prior to consultation. I like to ease into everything in life and I'm a bit more cautious with taking a plunge, especially with a provider of conscious work. I paid in two installments; I had to leave half as the deposit for the full package to secure that I was serious about doing the work. I had to book my dates right then & there after consultation to secure doing the work sooner rather than later. She gets booked out well in advance. It took a month for me to get the initial consultation appt. Cancelling is not a good idea if you care about doing the work per week or every 2-wks, but if you must, especially on short notice, as long as you can be flexible, she can get you into a slot asap. And she can shift an appt if she gets well in advance notice. Nonetheless, I'm glad I did the work and I had a good experience with Rita. I highly recommend her for hypnotherapy. I appreciated her honesty, practical guidance, feedback, words of wisdom, emoting skills, and choosing to do this kind of work. And I appreciated that she was responsive via email, text or if I needed information.

The guy who complained was asking odd questions the whole time and taking notes. (Example of an odd question, "Can I drink coffee all day instead of water?" I'm sure that's exactly what Michael Phelps drinks all day when he's training, coffee.) When I left, my husband asked me how it went and I said fine, except I think there was a blogger or something there writing an article. Which is fine, except in a setting where you need to feel comfortable, he was a huge distraction. I think the weird note taker guy even asked her at one point could she do magic. Magic? Like, pull a rabbit out her pocket? Other than that it went well and I saw people at the end signing up for more sessions. I've recommended hypnosis (specifically Irit) to every single one of my friends since I've been. I even told one friend in Virginia Beach that it was worth the weekend trip.
