I am very happy with how things worked out, and I would highly recommend then to anyone looking for a good place to go. The first positive is ease of scheduling. As a new patient, I was able to get an appointment scheduled in just a few weeks. At past places, it has always seemed like it can take 6 months to get an appointment scheduled at a "good time." As a teacher I don't like taking time off for appointments, so I try to go 3:30 or later and those are always booked, here it was easy to get an appt relatively soon. The staff was very friendly. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very personable, she talked and was friendly, but didn't go overboard. Sometimes I find the hygienist gets too talkative when they have the tools in your mouth and it is a pain to talk, didn't find that here. They didn't suggest all sorts of work and things that needed to be done. My teeth aren't perfect. But I brush twice a day and try to floss most days a week and I feel that I have pretty good oral health. But some of the places i've gone seem to always suggest lots of different things I should have done, and I'm never very certain on if it needs to be done or if they just want to make money, but I didn't see that here. Overall, I am definitely not someone who loves going to the dentist, but the people at Batavia Family Dental made it an overall good experience.

I ended up going to another dentist and they did a root canal due to the root being dead. The other dentist had no trouble numbing me up! None! No excuse working on someone without being numbed up. No excuse trying to fix the problem three times when you can't. If you can't figure out what the problem is or how to fix it call a dentist with more experience and ask. I don't recommend this dentist for dental work. Horrible!!!

My husband has a lesion on his gum, and he has to see an oral surgeon to have it looked at and…read morebiopsied. We chose aspen dental because there are no other oral surgeons in Batavia NY. I called to make the appt., told them our dentist was referring and for what. They got him right in with in days. I wasn't there, because I had to work... They took x ray after x ray, did an oral exam, charged him $200 of a $600 bill, which is well above my copay through BCBS (ILLEGAL), and then scheduled the appt for the oral surgeon, who ONLY COMES IN ONCE A MONTH. My husband asked a few times why all these X-rays were necessary, he already HAS A DENTIST that does all this stuff... they said they couldn't see him without establishing him as a patient. He wasn't there to be a dental patient.... He was there to consult with an oral surgeon, who never even showed up because he wasn't in the building! Needless to say, my husband wasted an hour there, was subjected to unnecessary radiation, overcharged for unnecessary treatment, knows nothing more than he did before he went, and won't be going back. I'll be calling my insurance and credit card company tomorrow. What a SCAM.
