We don't recommend the Munno Para store,
Absolutely disgusting behaviour by the Owner.
We normally go to Hindley St store with no problems with food or staff.
Our food was inedible and very very salty.
When we told the owner Michael Gerges that we really didn't enjoy our meals because they were so salty which was why we had barely touched our meals he got very offended and instead of showing some integrity he started to get aggressive.
We were not happy to pay full price for our meals as we'd barely touched them but offered to pay half plus our drinks but he wasn't interested in that and demanded we pay for the whole lot, which we were not happy about as we had barely touched them, so he chose to call the police which was fine by us. We waited for an hour then offered our phone number to get police to call us but he refused, instead illegally detaining us, my 85 yr old father, 75 yr husband and myself, they bailed us up in the carpark and the owner forced his staff to park their cars in front of us and another behind us and would not allow us to leave.
They had us surrounded by approx 6 or 7 men in the carpark, himself, 2 staff and some guys from the gym nearby.
He then proceeded to get very angry and abusive and started punching and kicking our car and said he will damage our car, which he did.
The whole time we were sitting in our car, we were not being abusive in any way shape or form.
We then also rang the police to see how much longer they would be, the officer I had on the phone wanted to talk to Michael but he refused to talk to the officer who was on the line.
When we offered to pay him so I could get my elderly father home as it was getting late but he refused to move the cars that were blocking us in.
Michael has no idea how to run a restaurant, how to cook or how to treat his customers.
If you can't handle it when customers say they are not happy with your food you are in the wrong job position.
When the police arrived they said Michael had no right to detain us and certainly had no right to damage our car.
The police have taken pictures of the damage and have filed a report and I have now written a statement.
If you have gone into a restaurant and they give you an inferior meal as far as I'm concerned you have every right to complain, you shouldn't have to pay full price for rubbish.
We felt the service was very bad, we waited nearly an hour for our meals and we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Trust me, we will never step a foot into Marcelina's Munno Para store ever again nor will our family and friends of which I have many who will spread the word of the poor customer service and food at this particular store.
We have enjoyed many great meals at the original Hindley St store for years.
Michael at the Munno Para store, not the kind of person you'd want representing your business name.
The food is disgusting & there is no welcoming atmosphere at all.
Instead of taking some constructive criticism and learning from it he chose to get very aggressive and went way over the top.
I'm glad this incidence was captured cctv as it will show we weren't in the slightest bit aggressive, we waited for an hour for the police, they would not let us leave and illegally detained us against our will and the owner damaged our car for no reason.
I 100% do not recommend Marcelina's at Munno Para they are merely just a franchise store that don't give a damn about their customers or the reputation of the company they are working for.
Michael, you should be ashamed of yourself, that's no way to run a business and probably why we were the only ones in your restaurant.
Reading other reviews seems like we haven't been the only ones you've been abusive too.
Seems like the police were on our side too, they weren't really impressed with your antics either and have lodged a report on our behalf which we will be following up.
Looks like you will be paying for the damage you did to our car which will be far more expensive than the disgusting meal we had tonight, what a stupid thing to do and it's all on cctv
Well done Michael!!! read more
