Wish I give 0 stars. I went in for a balayage retouch and she ended up doing a "color correction" couldn't match my previous balayage. Completely damaged my hair. I MEAN DAMAGED. Went back to my old hair stylist who took the photo. Got charged $200 to have my hair completely Damage with ugly blonde patches. Ok place, not over the top but the ladies were nice. I have to say the music was little loud and obnoxious for my personal taste, and I feel like I could not relax because of it. I asked for a short haircut and Marcella asked exactly how I wanted, I told her a choppy above the shoulders cut. She asked if I wanted it longer on the front then on the back, I specifically said no...to my surprise at the end of my cut it was not choppy like the picture I showed her and it was longer on the front. I came in yesterday to cut my long plain dark hair. My goal is blonde and brown balayage, my hair is dry and damage. Sonia was able to add some blonde and brown highlights and gave me a good cut. Almost everybody else that I have gone to for a haircut rushes through it or never really gets what I want. I have thick curly hair so all I ask for are lots of layers to get a textured look. Anyway, this was my first time coming here. Brenda Oliver did my cut and I absolutely LOVE it. She really really took her time and knew what she was doing. At first I thought she might have cut too much off because I wanted 5 inches off from the bottom and that was when it was dry. She did 5 inches while it was wet and my heart kind of sunk a little BUT she layered it so beautifully step by step that it didn't even matter because it turned out amazing! I found Sonia here on Yelp and from the reviews decided to give her a try. I had been looking for someone to give my natural blonde hair some icier blonde highlights and she did a perfect job! I love it and get compliments about it all the time. I have naturally pretty curly/wavy hair and it can get a little frizzy, so she recommend getting a celeaphane treatment next time I came in. So I scheduled a 30 min appointment to try it out. Best $20 I've ever spent on my hair! I noticed an immediate difference in the texture and look after the treatment. Much softer, less coarse and much more shiny (not oily shiny, healthy shiny). Thank you Sonia!! I'll definitely be coming back to her to try the tinted treatment next time! Can't wait!! read more

I came in wanting blonde hair and keep in mind I knew nothing about the process and I original came in with hair that previously been dyed (from box type). She bleached and bleached my hair burning my scalp. She damaged my hair not warning me how bad it was for my hair I had no idea, whenever I went to other solans they were shocked she did that and how unhealthy my hair was because of her. Never again going to her all she cared about was showing off that she was able to do this change and did not care about the health of my hair. read more

I've kept from reviewing my experience but I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through. Marcella did the worse service on me from the moment I walked in she was upset because she didn't schedule me the right day, complained about how much hair I had (which made me feel uncomfortable) she talked badly about a coworker, was cursing, talked on the phone. I sat down and pulled out my phone to explain how I wanted my hair and she said oh no I already know how you want it, because Marcella had seen how I wanted my hair over text, and then denies she ever saw any pictures. She double booked me and put highlights in my hair then had me sit for about 40 mins with blonde in my hair while she did someone else's hair after she waited more then an hour after her apt was set. After the service I told her I didn't like it and it wasn't what I asked for she got upset and said that's what I asked for. She charged me more then I've ever paid for a service, she didn't cut my hair or even tone my hair. After a few days I called her and we got into an argument because she kept with the story that she provided me with what I asked for, when it wasn't at all. So why would I go back to her after we were on bad terms. A month later after my hair healed from the bleach being left on too long I had to go to another salon to get it toned and cut. The best way to describe my experience was it was ghetto. For the price I paid and the location, it was not worth it. read more

I've had the same hairdresser for many years , way out of town. I had a great conversation with Marcela and made an appointment with Sonia. When I arrive, a few minutes late because I couldn't find it, Sonia was doing another client and looked like she had just finished washing her hair. I verified my appointment time and Sonia said it would be about 20 mins, but that I could call and reschedule if I wanted ? I waited about 35mins and left. Sonia called me almost one hour after my appointment saying she had time for me. I am an older person with many health issues and I told Sonia I waited as long as I possibly could. Being an hour late threw off my whole day. I liked all the great reviews I read and that's why I was confident when I made the appointment. Had my hair done by Marcella Munoz at the Loft and was super disappointed because the reviews of her work are so good. A tip to all: if you're from the Bay don't let any hair stylist out here know, they will jack up prices on you for 2nd rate work like she did to me . This lady actually told me that she DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO CUT HAIR , why would you pay somebody to dye your hair and then pay somebody else to cut it? Seriously? She was only able to cut my hair in straight line , straight across and it looked horrible. I took a picture to her of the color I wanted which was a brown/blonde mix of highlights and left there with a mix of red hair with highlights- not even close to the same. She talked about how hung over she was and had her assistant doing all thecwork on my hair and then paid the assistant right in front of me so basically letting me know that she charge me more than Bay Area prices because she was too hungover to do the work herself. Save your money and go elsewhere . I had to go back to my original hair stylist in San Jose to get my hair color and cut fixed.
