Came to this gas station on Christmas to grab some munchies. It's a pretty casual gas station. Prices are pretty fair, not too sketchy like it seems. read more

We are Expiditing from IL to TX. We had NO OTHER CHOICE but to stop here to fill up with gas. We were thrilled there was a Marathon close by the Interstate. Easily accessible in & out. We FILLED UP our van. While filling up our van a lady begged my husband for help with her car. He told her to go inside & purchase some things. She asked for some paper towel for him to check her oil. They said NO. She got toilet paper for him to use. The owners of store DID NOT OFFER TO HELP HER. So we did help her. She spent money. We spent money. I asked could we get some ice water in our own cup. They said no water. Buy bottle water. I said ok. Ice. We have bottled water One guy said absolutely not too bad. We will charge you. The other taller guy said yes since you purchased gas. My husband went to get our cup. The shorter guy started having words with the taller guy so when my husband came back in the taller guy started screaming he was going to charge us or just get a tiny bit of ice. I had already purchased two honey buns while waiting. More money spent. I took the cup, went over & filled it up. How dare these Owners whom could not even speak English for customers to understand was going to treat their own customers so rudely. I told them they should be ashamed of themselves not helping out their customer having car issues at their pumps & then refuse us ice for our cup after spending money. Smart ass short guy said too bad. So sad. I said too bad for you I got my full cup of ice & I will write a negative review online for very very poor customer service. Why support any business this unprofessional. We will never return. We do not recommend this business. Right across the Interstate is a WalMart with gas station. You can go inside WalMart & get a gas card & save even more money & not support a poorly run Marathon. read more

This location has my favorite drink (calypso , organic sweet leaf and Bai5 ) that no other store around carries. It's always convenient for me to get off the highway and stop in for a quick beverage. Their staff are very courteous and always make you feel welcome and comfortable. Its a huge store with all essentials you will need and everything is very reasonably priced unlike the speedways that charge you like crazy for a small drink. If there's anything you might need the owner will always go an extra step to get it for you. I wish them the very best. read more

Their coolers stock every kind of beverage possible at the lowest prices i have ever seen. And the location is easy access in and out of i57 on sauk trail rd. After traveling 609 miles, our car badly needed a wash. We saw this car wash and thought it was a…read moregood deal, only to find that the fully automated wash was out of service. So, I had to opt for the self serve wash. I had no change so I went to an open door, presumably an office and asked a man sitting and counting money if I could have some quarters. He just stared at me. I asked again and he said "outside on the wall." I found the change machine and got $10 worth of change, thinking I would only use $5 to clean the car. Well I put $2.50 of quarters in the coin receiver and the wash started up. I began following the proscribed sequence of six steps but before I was even done with step one, a siren started blaring to let me know I had only one minute to finish the wash. Really? How could I possibly be expected to clean the car in two minutes? This sequence continued until I had spent $10 and the car washing was still not done. The alarm went off again as I fumbled around trying to find a few more quarters before the timer ended. I found the quarters, inserted them into the slot and the time kept ticking down like a time bomb. By this time, I had inserted three more quarters which the machine did not accept, so instead of being able to incrementally add my quarters, the timer went off and I had to start over with $2.50 in quarters. I went to the man in the "office" and explained what had happened. He seemed quite perturbed. He got up, gave me one quarter and turned around. I once more told him that the machine had taken three of my quarters and in a surly voice he asked what bay I was in. I told him, he flipped a switch to turn the water on and did not do as much as turn or make eye contact with me when I said "thank you." Everybody has their day and this was his. even though I spent $10 + he chose to be a grumpy old man and Ann-Margret was nowhere in sight.

HORRIBLE GAS....don't do it!! I filled up my car with 89 octane and it's driven like shit ever…read moresince. Immediately the check engine light came on, the car dies out, it sputters and runs very rough. The car has 35,000 miles and is a well maintained vehicle, never had any problems with my car before I filled up here. I called and spoke with the owner Jim (who of course, doesn't admit he is serving lean or watered down gas) acted like it wasn't his problem. I will NEVER go to this gas station again, and I will make sure to spread the word to everyone I know to not get their gas from this station either. Now, I have to take my car into the dealership to make sure his shitty gas didn't ruin my engine. Save yourself the hassle and get gas elsewhere! And, by the way, I'm forced to pick a star in order to post. I would've given no stars!!
