Because the waiter didn't speak English, there was no explanation of the cuts, leaving us to figure out whose plate was whose. ​Arrogant sommelier: When we asked for a wine recommendation, the sommelier suggested a bottle for nearly €200. When we asked for something in the €70-€80 range, he condescended to us, asking if it was "our first time at a restaurant"--despite their menu having options as low as €30 . ​Disappointing management & service charge: I raised our frustration with the manager, who took over for the rest of the meal and brought the bill. He had automatically added a 10% tip, brushing it off as just a "suggestion." When I voiced my surprise at this level of service and the automatic tip addition, he looked down on us and simply ignored the feedback. ​Lisbon has far too many world-class dining options with top-tier hospitality to justify paying premium prices just to be looked down on by the staff.
