Pruzin Brothers did a stellar job setting up a country club for us to meet. Loved the idea the director came up with of tracing the immediate family members hands on the casket and having them write a little message in their hand. Very cool! They did a really good job. I highly recommend this facility.

I would say she is one of nicest human beings I have ever met. I never once felt uncomfortable. She was soothing and had a kind and warm energy to her. She was charismatic and I can not stress enough so kind. In a very difficult time the last thing you want is to deal with anyone rude or unthoughtful and I was just blown away by the service we got here. She went above and beyond. She went through everything with us and made great suggestion and was great at explaining everything. And when I had to ID my father before cremation she took the time to put a little make up on him to make him look normal and I cannot express how much I deeply appreciate that. It's like I got to see my dad nice and peaceful one last time and I can never thank her enough for that. The thoughtfulness that was put behind that is so worth mentioning. And after the funeral she even made my mother and I little containers with dried flowers from the funeral and the stones we had. I mean just so much compassion and consideration for us. And I know she has to deal with grieving people all the time and it must be exhausting but for her to do the little things along with the big things made the difference for me. There was also a taller white male who worked with her and although I didn't see him often whenever I did he was kind, professional and great at his job as well. I would recommend this place to anyone. People like violet make things go by just a little smoother in such a terrible time and those people deserve all the recognition there is.

Each time my family was consoling each other and grieving, he only cared about his "checks" and belongings. Very disrespectful throughout the entire process and would not recommend going here. He made my family's and personal experience worse than it had to be. The level of respect was extremely low and that is something that he NEEDS to work on. It was noticed by several family members and he will always be remembered that way.

This funeral home has a small parking lot across the street that holds perhaps a dozen cars. Additionally, there is a large, mostly empty, town lot less than one block away. Baran and Son funeral home, however, also believes that they own all of the parking along 119th street as well. This morning, they sent the police to bang on doors in the neighborhood and demand that people move their cars so that the funeral home could also use the street. Do you know what else would achieve this same result and be less traumatic than having the police banging down the doors of the local elderly at 8am? PUT UP A FLIPPING SIGN the night before. Just put up a sign asking people not to park. Also, you have "no parking" pylons that I have seen...those would also work. Place them in the parking spaces the night before. OR if you wanted to actually be a good representation of the Christian Soldiers that your obnoxious church bells proclaim you to be, you could try being a good neighbor, directing your guests to the city lot that is literally 2 minutes away, and not demanding ownership of the entire street. I am actually appalled that the Whiting police complied and took the time to shake down the block to demand cars be moved. What a small-town embarrassment this is all around. Shame on everyone involved. #policestateusa
