Although it took me 40 mins to get to this place, I was willing to make the drive and switch over to this office instead due to such high quality work I had heard about. Unfortunately I was immediately met by their front office staff who were quite unprofessional. I became aware of the mask requirement when I read a sign and told them I did not have one on me. However, there were two clients present without a mask on. I informed them that I did not need to wear one due to observing the other customers not having one either. They proceeded to let me know that "Well they're just dropping their dog off" and "we have immune compromised people in the back" Not to mention, I had just walked in and these other customers had been there well before I arrived conversing away with multiple staff members.. As I understand from their response: my "germs" while up at the reception area are infectious and warrant a mask, while the germs from the other customers without a mask won't find their way into the back of the office where their immune compromised staff are..... but mine will? I picked my poor dog up and walked out. I called the office and asked to speak to DOCTOR HUBER .. they asked who was calling... it was met with zero empathy or an apology. I waited for a while on hold, finally hung up. I was hoping to hear back from the doctor but I still have not heard anything. I am very disappointed as I had mentioned before this place was so highly recommended to me. I can respect rules and policies in place, but please do better and make sure that these standards are held in place for every single customer. Thank you.

It's unfortunate that the secretaries are so rude, because the vets and vet techs are wonderful…read more The first time I called the secretary sounded like they didn't want to schedule my pet and were trying to get me to take it to an emergency vet when they had never even seen my pet, and my pet was not in an emergency situation. I called another time and specifically said I was calling about euthanasia for my cat, and then when I was answering the ladies questions., She cut me off and said, I'm not trying to cut you off but what do you need from me because I have someone else on the other line. Not very compassionate when I was already upset about possibly having to put my cat down. Then most recently I called to let them know that I couldn't catch my cat for the appointment, and the lady said., OH, weeell... that was an extended appointment so that might have a fee attached. Her snarky tone sounded like I had done something wrong, and I told her it's common for people to not be able to catch some cats who get scared about going to the vet. And I said I didn't know anything about the extended appointment or any fee. She again said in a snarky tone that it's in all the paperwork and all over their website. I just looked on their website, and I see nothing there about a Fee. It may be under one of the line tabs, but that feature is currently not working. she hung up on me when I said something to her about her rudeness, and when I called back and asked if she could have a vet call me back, she said no, that she is not going to have a vet call me over something like this. she also told me that if I wasn't happy there that I should go back to the place where I was going. What secretary is allowed to say no that they aren't going to give a message to the vet?! this lady seems to way overstep her role and I think she loses clients for the business. I do not usually do this but I am so baffled and livid with Mairs Veterinarian Clinic and I think…read moreit's important to tell people why. I took my cat to Mairs Vet Clinic about two months ago to get him checked out because he had some blood in his stool and he was drooling a lot. I wasn't sure if the drooling was an issue but I wanted it to get checked out. After his appointment, we were told all is good and no one informed me of any mouth issues. I thought it seemed odd, but trusted the doctor to tell me what they found as most people trust their doctors. Since switching vets, I had been thinking about bringing my cat in for his mouth again because I still felt like something was going on. When switching vets, I had to get his previous records from Mairs for my current vet. Remember how Mairs didn't inform me of any problems or concerns with my cat's mouth? When I got his records, I saw that Mairs had listed his oral health as abnormal. They mentioned gingivitis, plaque, suspected resorptive disease, multiple missing teeth, and a recommended dental. THEY TOLD ME NONE OF THAT. My cat's oral health is so bad that he needs all of his teeth removed. I'm so furious with Mairs and DO NOT recommend going to them. Do your babies a favor and take them somewhere you can trust. Not only that, but they fired my MOTHER as a client, because of MY personal review on this situation. Instead of making it right after costing me thousands of dollars, they can't handle a bad review based on legitimate malpractice, and fire the relative of the person who wrote said review. What a joke.

My father and the original Doc Mairs were friends for many years back as they say "in the day". They saw our dog and he is on the mend. Very happy to be with an experienced group and heritage.

Today was my first visit & I am ecstatic to FINALLY find a vet who didn't claim to have a knowledge…read moreof reptiles but actually did! Dr. Riggs was incredibly nice & so was the staff. They took the time to listen to my concerns and discussed every option (both cheap & expensive) for my tortoises care. Unlike past visits (stow/kent & memorial) to treat the parasites Paul has, none of the other vets ever gave us medication or suggested a change in diet. But Dr. Riggs clearly provided me with a few food choices that the internet & previous vets informed me were not options. As well as medication to treat the parasites. He even went over Paul's xrays with me & explained the image in a way that anyone could comprehend. The facility itself was very clean and I noticed a lot of sighs promoting saving the environment & some eco friendly products around the office :) Dr. Riggs is/or was on the state committee to fight against animal abuse in circuses- this guy deserves a medal in my book. Can't say enough about the awesomeness of the staff and the quality care my pet received!

After 24 hours with the dog, we decided to return him. His alpha demeanor scared my daughter, and the dog scratched and bit the whole time. Nowhere in the contract did it say should we keep our $200 "donation." This woman was thoroughly unprofessional and, unpleasant and a liar. Buyer beware. She is very nice up front, but nasty if you have issues with the dogs.
