This is one of the few lounges left (that I've found) that you can still visit if you have a First Class ticket - no other fees required. We got great service from Paul. He made it worth the walk! read more

Came 11:30am on a Thursday. I checked in terminal 3 and whizzed over to terminal 2 and totally missed this lounge as it's at the end of the walkway with very little signage from terminal 3. They had better signage from terminal 2. Welcome staff was nice. Very little wait. There is a moral of San Francisco landscape on the wall, it was a cute touch that made the place less generic. No kids rooms, all the office spots were taken when I was there until the way end. They have desks lined up by the window but it causes SO much eye glare from the bright windows when you are looking at your computer. Food didn't look like much however the adobo chicken, chicken soup, and quinoa combined together was delicious! I appreciated the hard boiled eggs for the salad. Filled up my water bottle with the piping hot water. Oatmeal raisin cookie was alright, don't get the hype. Their toilets do not flush well. The flush doesn't remove all of the toilet paper. Every time I went to the bathroom, there was toilet paper remaining for the last guest... This would have been 3 stars but it's 4 due to the free showers. Great spot to shower (they had two showers). However, I was in the middle of my shower and the cleaning staff wanted to come in and clean!? They kept trying to turn the handle and made me very uncomfortable. Wasn't as crowded as the Club but also a bit remote if you are coming from a different terminal. read more

Timing is everything when it comes to anybody's experience at these exclusive airline lounges. Jamie W and I were flying business class to Montreal on Air Canada. It was an early morning flight, and we got to SFO early mostly to avoid the rush hour traffic. The lounge opens at 4:15AM, and we were lucky because waiting passengers were trickling in quite slowly. We could take time to appreciate how well spaced the seating was in the lounge and dining areas. Located on the 4th level of Terminal 2, it felt relatively new as it opened in 2023 and accommodates 165 people at any given time. There's an expansive outdoor terrace with modern furnishings and views of the planes on the tarmac. A self-service buffet was available, though it was too early for the full-service bar. It was truly relaxing versus the crowded zoo we later encountered at the lounge in Montreal International (review: https://yelp.to/qY9cc_eEYk). RELATED - Going to an airport? Decided to check out this airport lounge. Chase sapphire card holders can bring one guest in without additional charge. This is right next to Amex lounge and it's much less crowded. It's spacious and the outdoor terrace has great views. Food was delicious and the complimentary alcohol beverages were decent. They didn't have Grey Goode at all which was a bit weird. Overall this was a great airport lounge experience! read more

Large lounge and a lot of seating! It's kept very clean and the service was great. The food was fine, held us over for a couple of hours before the flight. It's located in terminal 2, but the walk from terminal 3 is only about 5-10 minutes! We got in no problem with the chase sapphire reserve card and a star alliance boarding pass. read more

Ok overall. I don't like that you can purchase a day pass, or get in with credit card access. It makes it very crowded at times (tho this visit wasn't as bad), and not at all special. Food is ok. Just your typical average lounge food. I will say I do really like their oatmeal cookies though. The layout and smaller rooms are nice. I'd come if I had some extra time before a flight, but not a lounge I really look forward to spending time in. read more

Here is my review of the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge while sitting in the Maple Leaf lounge at SFO. Located in Terminal 2 near the entrance to the walkway to Terminal 3, you take the elevator up to level 4 and walk down the hall toward the entrance. Entrance is based on whether you're flying business class on Air Canada flights, Star Alliance carriers or if you have the Chase Aeroplan card or Chase Sapphire Reserve flying Air Canada or a Star Alliance carriers in any class. Positives of the Maple Leaf Lounge at SFO are as follows: 1 - Views galore. Because it's located on level 4 you have unobstructed views of the runway and San Francisco Bay. They also have an outside patio that's pretty usable most of the year. 2 - the vibes of the lounge are light and breezy with large windows letting in a lot of natural light. 3 - Seating is both a positive and negative. With a focus on the ramp, there are a lot of counter and table seating facing outward. However, that leads to a lack of variety and tends to make the lounge feel crowded during high traffic times. The negatives of the lounge are as follows: 1 - Food options. During this current visit the soda machine ran out of ice, but no one proactively went about to fix it and the soda dispenser felt like it needed to be refilled. 2 - the food when available was tasty, but during this visit they ran out of food at the buffet three times, meaning either the kitchen can't keep up with the volume or there is no one actively monitoring the buffet. 3 - Showers are available, but felt a little exposed because of the layout of the space. Perhaps a little barrier of some sort blocking that hallway can alleviate that situation. Overall, I think the Maple Leaf Lounge at SFO has a lot to offer, but also needs to tighten up its service to meet the standards set by its Star Alliance partners. It's less crowded than its neighboring Club at SFO or the temporary Centurion Lounge, but not on the level of the Polaris or soon a revamped United Club. read more

I got in using one of my free passes from owning the Chase Aeroplan Credit card. I entered just after 6:30am on a Tuesday. I had no issues with any of the check in ladies. By 7am, the lounge was about 85% full. Lounge was clean and still looked new. For breakfast options they had: Oatmeal, black bean soup, sausages, potatoes, pancake, tortilla, OJ, apple juice, coffee, tea, cereal, pastry, assorted fruit, yogurt and granola. The hot food items were below average. Served just slightly above room temperature. The decaf coffee tasted watered down. There is another coffee machine which as others have mentioned is broken. Tip: go to the bar to get your espresso. Unfortunately no alcoholic beverages until after 11am. The outside patio is nice. Good amount of seating with a few fire places. There's also 3 private work stations, 2 showers and a couple lounge rooms with a TV. If you don't have a pass, I wouldn't recommend buying one. The food at The Club, is better. read more

I've been eager to come to the MLL here in SFO ever since it opened. I saw all the fanfare about the only outdoor terrace at SFO and the signature finishes that made the Maple Leaf Lounge a cut above the myriad United Clubs around the airport. I finally got my chance on a recent United flight back to Seattle. It definitely has the wooden trim that gives it the unique MLL character and elegance. The food was not bad at all - the Chicken of the Chicken Fajitas was tender and flavorful, and the cocktails were beautifully handcrafted (I had a sunset negroni). Unfortunately the latte machine was in disrepair and as such the bartender was called upon to make cappuccinos as well. The outdoor terrace was quite nice although as the day progressed the sun only grew stronger and pushed folks back inside. My biggest criticism was that there didn't seem to be anyone clearing the tables of plates and glasses, so those all piled up, all but ruining the classiness of the space. I continue to recommend this as the preferred Star Alliance option especially as I went to a United Club for a half hour before boarding and found it crowded, uninspired, and sorely lacking, despite having staff to clear surfaces of paper illy cups and plates with cracker crumbs. I do hope AC can find the budget to better keep the tables clean and machines in good repair, then you'd have a true 5 star experience for your next UA or AC flight. read more

Date: Saturday, October 18th, 2025 Time: around 8:30pm How Accessed: Chase Sapphire Reserve Card Flying: United *Salad *Chicken Caesar Wrap *Lemon Rosemary Chicken *Gnocchi Zuppa Toscana *Brussels Sprouts *Glass of Bubbles I had a flight at 9:30pm and I was starving. Even though my flight was leaving out of Terminal 3, I hauled a$$ to Terminal 2 to grab a quick drink and food. Tried basically almost everything in their baby buffet. At that time, there wasn't much, but this spot isn't crowded at all. Very simple and clean. The bartender was super sweet. I was in and out in less than 30 mins. I'm not sure why, but all I had to do was scan my boarding pass and the the gates opened. No need to show my reserve card or anything. Maybe cuz I booked my flight thru the Chase portal? I don't know, but it was super easy to get in. Nice lounge if flying out of Terminal 2. Probably wouldn't make the trek from 3 again unless I had a lot of time. REVIEW #3872 read more

I know what I am and that's 100% an airport lounge lover! So when I got into the Maple Leaf lounge via my first class United ticket, I was super excited to check out a new spot. Arrived exactly 3 hours before my flight (I absolutely hate the 3 hour rule) and I was pleasantly surprised. A few weeks ago, I went into the standard United club and thought it was just ok. This one is definitely a more elevated alternative. They have a lovely outdoor section that I quickly looked at since it was raining, but when I'm back, I'll make sure to take full advantage. Food was great here! They were serving up potatoes, pork loin, salad, and cauliflower in a spicy green sauce. So delicious! It makes me a bit upset that I grabbed lunch before heading in. Drinks and bartenders were great too! So many folks were drinking espresso martinis this day and they looked delicious. Lastly, I loved the private rooms here. They have a few common areas with the option to close yourself in via sliding glass door. Such a nice feature. Cute few hours at this lounge! If you have a first class ticket via United, this is a great option if you're not feeling the United clubs available. read more

Outdoor space in an airport lounge is the ultimate flex. What's better than fresh air? The Maple Leaf is my pick for top lounge at SFO because of this amenity. On the occasions I've passed time here before a flight to Toronto, it's been easy to find a spot to perch (read: not too crowded). And it might be my imagination but everyone in here seems nicer (which I attribute to them being Canadian). But maybe it's because they breathed some fresh air and didn't have to fight a crowd for a cup of tea? read more

Popped in for a short visit this evening to eat a much better meal versus what I saw earlier at the United Club. The food options included teriyaki chicken, miso asparagus, vegetable yakisoba noodles and even lemon meringue pies . Food presentation and taste was appealing and appetizing. The lounge was quite full though and the outdoor patio section was closed for construction so that was a bit of a disappointment. No timeline posted anywhere on when the construction will be finished. As long as the food continues to be better than the United Club then will take the detour here before my flight every time. read more

Came back again to this lounge on a layover in the afternoon and they had an Asian inspired lunch spread. There was miso glazed asparagus, fried noodles, fried rice, and chicken. For dessert you got to choose between lemon meringue pie or an oatmeal raisin cookie. I loved that there was outdoor seating as well has huge windows to enjoy some sunlight. read more

Great spot with a modern art vibe and a layout that's ideal for work or rest. Food-wise, it's better than your average United Club, even if it's not quite Centurion level. The bar coffee service was also excellent. Plus, the staff is friendly from the second you step through the door. read more

The nearby United Club lounge in E was at capacity, so the staff suggested that I walk to the Maple Leaf Lounge, supposedly 3 minutes away. While I'd argue that the elevator bay is 3 minutes away, it can take a little longer to wait for the elevator! Once you get there, I can tell you that the walk is worth it! I feel like I've been missing out. While United Club has been cutting back on food, the Maple Leaf Lounge has real protein options. And, because Air Canada has less flights, the lounge is no where near capacity. The outdoor patio was a nice surprise -- no smoking allowed here, so even better! What a nice way to get away while at the airport! read more

Really poor overall service and food options are limited and bland. Hard product is high quality though and can be so much better with the right staff. Current staff isn't the right people except female bartender who was kind and wonderful. Asked to be added to the shower list and just gave me a buzzer that wasn't turned on and nobody was waiting for the shower or using the shower for the 2 hours I was there. Whenever I asked the staff snapped at me "just wait". Ridiculous behavior. read more

So I've invested a lot of butt in seat with United Airlines and United Clubs. Today I stopped by the Maple Leaf Lounge at SFO. All I will say is I love this place more than Polaris lounges. The lounge itself is not crowded, the food is actually good, and there is a good variety of dining options. My favorite thing? The outdoor patio. You can relax, have a drink, sit by the heater and watch the planes come and go. This place is a true gem! (I've never rated an airport lounge this high) read more

This place is worth seeking out even if you have even a 90 minute layover as you can get some hot food (soups, salads, pasta, cookies) and pour your own sodas, water, sparkling water, and other adult drinks for the bartender (also complimentary). They have lots of seating options (cushion chairs, tables for easier eating, bar seating, and the unique outside patio to enjoy on a nice day. They have shower rooms if you have time and need, and the restrooms are clean and spacious compared to the rest of the airport. Definitely a great find for Star Alliance Gold members (even if you are not traveling in business class on a Star Alliance flight). NOTE: The lounge and elevators are not well marked in the hallway until you are right ontop of the entrance. read more

Echo most of the reviews here - what a great lounge! Chase Reserve got me in, nice food options (breakfast) and lots of seating. Not crowded at the time I went. I did see shower rooms available, enclosed work spaces, TV rooms, as well as a bar that opens and serves alcohol starting at 11am. But for sure the superstar is the terrace with amazing views of the tarmac, control tower, and San Francisco Bay. Heat lamps and fire pits as well. Well worth it, I will be back! read more

CSR cardholder and it was my first time here. Awesome lounge with great runway views from almost anywhere you sit, plus a really nice outdoor patio area. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My experience at the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge on August 2 during the day shift was extremely disappointing because of the customer service I received from the woman working at the right-side front desk. From the moment I approached the desk, she sit with her arms crossed and gave me the impression that she had already judged me before I even spoke. Instead of greeting us or making us feel welcome, her attitude came across as cold, dismissive, and unapproachable. What frustrated me most was the inconsistent and confusing information she provided about lounge access. I explained that I had reviewed the Chase Sapphire Reserve lounge benefits online and understood that two people are allowed inside. Instead of clarifying the policy, she told me that I didn't know what I was talking about and only one is allowed to access. I accepted what she told me and decided that my mom would go into the lounge while I took my two children elsewhere. As I was walking away with my kids, she suddenly said, "Oh, you can leave one kid if you want because you can bring a guest." This directly contradicted what she had just explained and made the entire interaction even more confusing. It wasn't just the incorrect or inconsistent information--it was the way she treated us throughout the conversation. Her tone was dismissive, and she made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests. As a paying Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder who specifically chose this lounge benefit, I expected to be treated with courtesy and respect, even if there was a misunderstanding about the access policy. Fortunately, the other employee at the front desk was pleasant and appeared much more welcoming, which made the contrast in customer service even more noticeable. I hope management reviews this interaction and provides additional customer service training. Every guest deserves to be treated with professionalism, patience, and respect. A welcoming attitude is just as important as the lounge itself, and unfortunately, this experience fell far below that standard. read more

Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is a wonderful surprise! With United Airlines fully occupying SFO Terminal 3 (E & F Gates) and with overcrowded United Clubs in E & F, I was hoping United would add a club at Terminal 2 (D gates) since United has expanded into D. Nope. With Star Alliance Gold status, frequent fliers can access the Maple Leqf Lounge in D. It offers a superior club anyway. I've been inside a few times and here are the advantages: No crowds (at least when I've been there at night), plenty of variable seating arrangements and areas with lots of outlets. Pleasant and helpful staff from the front, the food crew, the staff cleaning tables quickly, and the bartender (who let me taste test the complimentary wines). Liquor is also complimentary. The tidy food section is not large but has a tasty selection of soups, salads, an entree or two, desserts and coffee machines. What truly elevates the lounge is the outdoor terrace with sweeping tarmac views. There are even fire pits for famous San Francisco foggy and chilly evenings. It's a great respite from the rush of the airport crowds. SFO Maple Leaf Lounge is known as one of Air Canada's top clubs. Its relaxing, upscale ambience truly excels. read more

A quiet retreat from SFO. As a Star Alliance GOLD member I come here gratis on long layovers. 3.5 rounded up to 4**** Nice lounge. Full bar. Lovely views. I'd say this place is more about the ambiance than anything else. I thought the food was not the best. While it was most definitely edible, I didn't bother taking pictures. I'm sure the food changes or rotates on a regular basis anyways. Overcrowded, bad food, and no alcohol until 11:00am. This lounge has a lot of wasted potential. The high point is the incredible outdoor terrace with lots of seating and epic views of the runways. The bar also has great views and friendly, talented bartenders. Sadly, unlike any other lounge at SFO, the bar doesn't open until 11:00am sharp. They won't even give you a menu before then. The late opening is a major pain point for travelers coming in from other time zones or people who don't want to queue in line for alcohol service around the switchover to lunch. Speaking of food, the day I went had some of the worst catering I've ever experienced at a lounge. Terrible Mexican food for breakfast, and for lunch . . . again terrible Mexican food. No Canadian food or any other culture's cuisine in sight. The final nail in the coffin is the immense overcrowding. Felt more crowded than even the temporary Centurion lounge at SFO. The powers-that-be for Maple Leaf Lounges need to step up and serve alcohol earlier and get better catering. Until then, I can't call this a premium lounge, even though the Sapphire Reserve cards provide access. Walk across the hall to AMEX's temporary Centurion Lounge. read more

I'd say that SFO as a whole isn't a great airport. But I'll say the sfo maple leaf lounge is one of Air Canada's nicer lounges. It was clean, lots of seating, private places to work. The food is whatever, but it's def a nicer place to spend time do you have a layover read more

The Maple Leaf Lounge is overall a nice and spacious place to relax or catch up on work before your flight. There are plenty of outlets and several rooms designed for privacy and quiet work conditions, which I really appreciated. The large windows bring in lots of natural light, making the atmosphere bright and pleasant. That said, our check-in experience wasn't great. The lounge attendant seemed bored and annoyed, with one hand supporting her chin while the other scanned our passes. When my husband didn't mention that I was his guest, she had to redo something and rudely informed us to let them know next time. Definitely not the best welcome. The food and drink options were decent, though as other reviews mention, food tends to run out quickly. When we went to grab something, a few pots were already empty, but the staff seemed to be actively replenishing them. I ended up with oatmeal, which was fine, but the brown sugar was clumped together in one hard chunk, making it frustrating to use. Despite the hiccups, it's a convenient lounge with a lot of good features. A little more attention to service at the checkin and food restocking would make it a much better experience. read more
