This lounge was decent for priority pass. Came here around 9am and they had a pretty good hot breakfast spread, cereal, snacks, yogurts and fresh cut fruit in the fridge as well as a self serve bar. Golden Gate Lounge is a bit of a mixed bag, but it gets the job done. It feels a little worn and not the most polished lounge, but it is still a decent place to spend some time before a flight. They had a range of food, including meatballs, vegetables, breads, sweets, and some cold cuts. Nothing standout, but enough to put together a light meal. Meatballs were good. Drinks are easy to access with full cans of soda and self serve beer and wine, plus snacks like nuts. It is simple and convenient. The space itself was a bit warm, and they had a portable air conditioner running that was loud enough to notice. Seating was fine, nothing special but comfortable enough. With Priority Pass, I checked in around 6:30 and was told I could stay until 7:30. It felt a little rushed, possibly due to crowding or upcoming flights. No outlets for charging. Located in the international terminal A. Hubby & I attempted to use our Priority Pass Sunday. We were waiting in the hallway for them to open at 7am. At 6:40am someone from the lounge came out to inform us they're not taking PP card holders until probably 10:30am as they needed to accommodate Air India lounge members whose lounge is being built next door. Located just outside of the International security gates on the 4th floor. This is one of the better options, considering that the Virgin Atlantic lounge has cutback on their food choices. This was my first time having access to an airport lounge, as my back pain required a lay flat seat for a long International flight so I upgraded to business class. The lounge mainly seemed like a small self serve cafeteria to grab a quick bite, coffee, tea, or alcoholic beverage. I wasn't hungry so just had a cold soda and left. We had a great experience at the Golden Gate Lounge. It is a bit small but there's fresh and delicious food and plenty of drink options. The beef meatballs hit the spot and warmed my soul up. There's pasta on the side that's already seasoned for vegetarian options. The sandwiches were ok and they had a good meat and cheese selection. There's plenty of snacks and alcohol options as well if you are looking for something lighter. I appreciated the environmentally friendly plates and utensils. I was there around mid-day, the food they were serving was still on the breakfast side - I do like that they had a good variety of hot and cold foods available. Our regular lounge was closed so we were redirected to this one. The lounge is on the 4th floor located aaaaaaaaaaaall the way at the end of this narrow hallway with holes in the wall along the way. It felt questionable. After making the trek, we waited awhile at the front (nearly 10 min) as someone said someone else would be with us shortly. We then were turned away because they said they were switching out food and cleaning. The place was completely empty when we got there and we had 2 hours before our flight. Super disappointing. It's OK. We arrived at SFO today and are able to finally use the Priority Pass entry into the Golden Gate Lounge. While they allowed us into the lounge (which was only about 25-30% full), as PP holders, we are asked to leave at 6pm "to allow for business class members". I don't really get it - when we left, the place was still barely half full - why can't they serve PP members past 6pm is beyond my understanding. I'm not sure why all the sub par reviews for this place, but I absolutely loved my time in here. What's not to love? Free Drinks + free food (including desserts) + a self serve alcohol cart that includes hard liquor?? I've been in airport lounges before but not ones where you can pour your own drinks. For this alone, this place deserves 5 stars. Let's talk about the food spread first: Minestrone Soup, Dahl soup, Pasta with Meatballs, roasted veggies, chopped baguette bread, whole croissants, sandwiches (both vegetarian option and turkey on focaccia bread with pesto sauce), tomato salad, greens salad, and a cold cut platter with assorted cheese. I didn't get to try all of this but I did have the meatballs + marinara sauce (no pasta). It was surprisingly good and I don't normally gravitate toward Italian food. The Meatball was huge and tasty, not overly salted. The Turkey Focaccia sandwich with pesto was right up my alley- nicely portioned because it was bigger than bite sized yet small enough where you could eat it all and not get stuffed. Dessert/ Fruit station: Green and Red Apples, Oranges, Quarter sliced Blueberry + Poppyseed muffins, small Chocolate Chip cookies, Cheesecake Brownie bars.... These were all set up on top of a table. Right underneath this table was a glass door fridget that housed the Yogurt cups with sliced berries on top, Fresh Fruit cups, Sprite, Diet Coke, and Coke cans. Also on top of the table were canisters full of Yogurt toppings (Granola + Raisins). Next to the Yogurt toppings were Chex Mix and Nuts. I shared a piece of the Brownie Bar and it was decent. Alcohol Station: White wine, Red wine, Sparking wine + Bottles of Hard Liquor. I was only able to make out the Tito's Vodka because while I don't drink, one of us in our party made a beeline for that that since it's her drink of choice. They also had a mini bucket of ice + tongs + cups set out for you to serve yourself. With all of this, there were bussers coming around to clear your tables as you finished off your plates. They advertise Priority Pass access, but when I tried to enter, the staff refused to honor it -- despite the lounge being far from full. If you're not going to accept Priority Pass, then stop misleading customers. To make matters worse, the customer service was terrible. The staff were rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help or provide any explanation beyond a blunt "no." For a lounge that is supposed to be a quiet and comfortable place to relax, the interaction alone created more stress than relief. This lounge seriously needs to work on both honesty and hospitality. This is probably the smallest and lowest quality lounge I've ever been to. They don't even have full male/female bathrooms, and only 2 singular bathroom stalls. No sense of luxury at all. The wifi was painfully slow. The food selection is even worse than an intercontinental breakfast at a budget hotel in the middle of nowhere. Croissants are soft and soggy. We were let in to the lounge despite it being after the time for our pass which was very kind of them. Food was above average for buffet lounge faire. All in all a decent lounge - we came here mid afternoon on a Sunday and it was pretty spacious and easy to find seating. There were a variety of snacks, drinks, alcohol, cold + hot foods (their pasta with meatballs was pretty good) and I think a majority of their stuff was from costco. One thing that could be better is having coffee sleeves for the paper cups for hot drinks. I made some tea and it was really hard to hold my cup while trying to get hot water. The tongs for some of the snacks like their chex mix also made it difficult to grab more than one piece at a time! read more

It's not glamorous and the seats are worn down and a bit dirty, but it's still a lounge nonetheless and more comfortable than sitting at the gate. As a Delta medallion member traveling in business class with Aeromexico, I was told that the Golden Gate Lounge was where I had lounge access to. With a 1:30pm flight to Mexico, I got to the Golden Gate Lounge at 12pm, and it was mostly empty. This was most welcomed - to seek refuge in a quiet lounge right before my flight. I suppose this is because not many flights depart from the international terminal at lunch time. Note, this is also a priority pass lounge, so I am sure it can get busy during peak hours (lunch time not being one of them). There is limited seating, but during off hours there's enough for everyone. For lunch they had a variety of standard American lounge fare including vegetarian and meat sandwiches, pasta salad, garden salad, charcuterie spreads, and for beverages - wine, soft drinks, water. Food was nothing remarkable, but provided good sustenance prior to my flight! Overall I would give this lounge a solid 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for dishing out reliable food and drink options and a quiet space to chill. While I haven't had the chance to come here when it is extremely crowded or busy... I can say (at least) if you're here during lunch time, you'll likely have a more pleasant experience like I did. Golden Gate Lounge is located on the fourth floor in the international terminal so it's a little out of the way if you're not leaving from there. However, you can take the air train to/from all the other terminals to the international terminal but you'll have to go through security multiple times. When you get through security, go to the left and you'll come across a bunch of TVs with all the lounges listed. The lounge itself is small but it works. They also have free wifi separate from the airport wifi. The food was surprisingly good and they had self-serve alcohol. They also have vegetarian options and other snacks and drinks that you can grab and go. I like that this lounge is open throughout the day and also doesn't limit its hours for Priority Pass members (unlike another lounge I tried going to first). Having priority pass, this lounge is convenient for any folks flying out of the A terminal being that it sits at the very beginning of that sector of the airport. When entering, the I'd and boarding passes will be verified. Once you're in, all food and drink items here are self service. We went to the anti pasti bar and found the items pretty tasty. The wine selection was also relatively well stocked with a good selection of entry level wines hailing mostly from the old world. Charging stations here can be quite tough to get a hold of especially if you're competing with the neighboring table, so people looking to charge or work on your laptops take note.
