I cannot say enough great things about this complex but I'll give you some of my favorite things…read more 1. The staff here are amazing. Keith, my favorite person, who ensures the place looks amazing. Everyday I see him working his tail off to make this place look and feel like the luxury apartment complex it is. All of my issues are addressed quickly and professionally! Keith has been so patient with me as I move in and have requests for things. He's genuine, kind and makes sure I'm happy. Best part about him is how kind he is to me and my fur babies! I trust him in my place and with my dogs when I'm not home. Kelsey was also amazing during my leasing and move in. She was prompt and professional with my millions of emails. She's also my neighbor which makes it cool to have a real resident as a leasing agent who can be honest and passionate about the area. 2. The location is amazing. The community is professional. No sketchy people and everyone's cars are in good shape. 3. The place is so clean. Pool area is beautiful, gym is always spotless and the parking lot is always clean. The landscaping is perfectly manicured and they do a great job making the place look sharp. 4. They are very dog friendly and have the best pet clean up areas I have ever seen. Most of the neighbors enjoy my big ole hounds and it seems that almost everyone has a pet, which is awesome. 5. They do a great job keeping stray walkers out. Being so close to the downtown area, I was worried that there would be more people that walked around they didn't live her. That's simply not happening. Even being along the river walk, people stay on course and mind their business. I have no concerns of theft with my outside decorations and furniture. 6. I feel safe. Period. They make sure the place is lit up and the presence of the police officers that live here is a sure plus. I highly recommend this place. I have a very large, updated, beautiful, spacious apartment which almost feels like a condo or villa, not an apartment.

In both cases there were no cameras watching those areas so it is a great set up for burglary. The customer service for all of those instances fell along the lines of, "I'm sorry that happened but there is nothing we can do." Which while it may be true, isn't a reassuring feeling. The apartment itself was nice and anything that came up inside of that space was fixed in a timely manner.

I found THE PERFECT apartment. The amenities are wonderful! I watch English Premier league soccer games in the movie theatre (for FREE) on Saturday mornings on the residence site, I take advantage of the pool in the summer, the gym in the winter, and I love walking my dog around the groomed property. The staff (especially Brenda) is extremely helpful. The maintenance crew are cheerful and prompt in responding to any request you submit. I couldn't be happier with the transition. THANKS!

I enjoyed walks around the complex, It's really rare to find an apartment complex that you can comfortably walk around. There's a lot of pretty pond views. I would of stayed but I got married and moved because of that. The apartments are nice, basic layout. I had a 2-bdm. My mom also lived there and she had the townhouse which was really nice because it had a fireplace and washer and dryer. She also really enjoyed living there. The staff was great and it was a real close community feel. I actually knew my neighbors and we looked out for each other. The maintenance was also very nice and prompt. The location was perfect, and we never had any security issues there. Anytime there was crime the staff would send out a letter. They even held community meetings and self defence courses there. I rented a lot of apartments in my life so far this is one of my favorites. If they ever changed to co-op or condos I'd get one in a heartbeat.

Well the Foundry lost a star. We have been here three years and, on balance, liked the place. Great…read morelocation, 5-star apartments, wonderful village and stores on the first floor where you can be a part of a neighborhood. Our only real problem was with the maintenance/administrative peeps. This business appears to be getting too big for its staff. When we moved in there were maybe 200 or so apartments - and lovely ones at that. Since then they have built an addition on the south end that probably doubles the number of apartments; now they have another add-on going in pushing the number even further. Our biggest problem is being able to talk to someone - not just leave a message. They are understaffed and overly busy. It was move out for us and we actually did get to talk to an office person - and we set up an appointment for 2 pm to do the final walk-thru on Thursday when leaving. When there we were running late and asked to push it an hour to 3 pm - of course, no one answered the phone so we had to leave a message. Long story short, no one shows up at 3 pm...nor at 3:30 or 4 pm. By 4:30 after calling and leaving a number of other messages we just left. No idea how we'll now do a walk thru but their telephone answering skills are terrible. They just waste their customers time. So in sum the apartments here are all 5 star - this is a great apartment complex and full of opportunities and amenities. The administrative people are always hard to get a hold of, so that is a problem. The one bright spot is Christine - but use email to get a hold of her. Maintenance is spotty - one of the guys we worked with is Larry - a real fine guy...if he promised something he kept his promise, and if he said he would be there at a certain time he was. Larry was tops, but the rest of the maintenance staff left a lot to be desired ... not the least of which is showing up when they said they would. So we will continue calling and see what they want to do for a walk-thru close-out. 5 star apartments, 3 star admin and maintenance staff, not respectful of their customers time ... giving it 4 stars.

I never had a problem with anyone or the staff. Staff was helpful & resourceful. As long as you request to have Maintenance done, they'll come out & fix it ASAP. The Landscaping crew does A+ Work. The only downfall to this Apartment Complex is The Washer/Dryer facility outside your apartment. So If laundry needs to be done, you have to go outside and to the laundry room to wash and dry. That's it though. No washer/dryer in the apartment. Overall I LOVED my apartment at Castle Point. Never had any major problems with anyone or anything there. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a nice, spacious apartment for a good price & in a good place at that. 5 minutes from Notre Dame, The Mall & all sorts of Restaurants.

If you are looking for a safe area and aren't too worried about rent and lease termination costs,…read moreIndian Lakes is a fine option for you. If you are a pet owner, young professional or someone that might be looking to move for a job before your lease is up, look elsewhere. See the very last paragraph for my biggest criticism of this complex from my experience. Positives: Clean apartments and decent upkeep. Area is quiet (in terms of community ruckus) and safe. Laundry units in-unit is a huge positive. Nice balcony space. Service calls normally had quick responses and I didn't have to fight with management over my broken refridgerator - they just showed up with a new one. Never had an issue with power outages, but water is another story (see below). Pool, parking (uncovered), and most utilities are included, and electric is normally under $30/mo for my one bedroom. Area gets a bit loud with Douglas and Main being just steps away, but its close to a lot of grocery and restaurants. Management does a good job of notifying you of water shut offs and pool closings (if you read your emails). Negatives: AC blows cold in my living room, but hardly in my bedroom. Kitchen is a bit small, and storage space sucks. Rent could be more affordable, especially since the units are getting pretty out-dated with the new apartments in the area, and Indian Lakes doesn't seem to be making updates. Management shuts off water nearly once every two months for several hours - not something I've heard of before. Rules of the complex are very strict: no grilling (not even a space available outdoors to grill), pool restirctions (no food or drink allowed), can't hang a lot on your walls (might risk your security deposit), and like rules are a bit annoying. The complex has a good amount of space for walking/jogging, but some of the "lakes" don't have a foot-path, which is a bummer. Pet fees are too expensive. the cost would be nearly $1000/year to have a pet with you - the main reason I never got a pet in my two years living here. For more details on my experience, see below. I moved to Mishawaka from Kalamazoo, MI and chose Indian Lakes becuase I heard it was the most reasonabile and best quality for the price. One of the main reasons I chose Indian Lakes is because they are an Edward Rose complex. I lived at another ER complex in Kalamazoo before, so I knew that their early lease termination term in the agreements was basically a one month notice and additional $750 fee - basically two months rent all together, including your last month of living there. This seemed the most reasonable to me, as I was a young professional just starting my first job out of college and I knew I might be looking elsewhere in a few years. Unfortunately, Edward Rose changed their policy on lease terminations somewhere during my second year there. The requirements doubled: 60 days notice of termination and two months of rent UP FRONT to break your lease- effectively four months of rent just to get out of your contract. This, in my opinion, is completely unreasonable. Not to mention, my lease was up for renewal during the Covid-19 pandemic, a time when noone's job felt safe. I was forced to take a shorter lease in my third year (6 months) which increased my rent by $100/month. I was very disappointed to see this section of my contract had changed, and it felt very sneaky of the company to do this. I called management and asked to negotiate this term and was told that would not be possible. This is the biggest reason for this bad review for Indian Lakes. I think this is wrong to require such a fee and a two month notice just to break your lease. What company wants to hire a person if they have to wait two months to onboard their candidate? This is unfair and disappointing. If you're in a similar position in life as I was, I would recommend you discuss these terms of your contract with other apartments before you commit to Indian Lakes.

The rent is continuing to skyrocket, even when I'm barely getting by. They could care less whether…read moreor not I am struggling financially. Also, they don't have payment plans set up, which would be much easier to pay the rent that way. Maintenance does a good job, but the office are not very helpful when I have questions. I asked someone at the office about the smart locks and why they were being installed. I even asked if someone could easily hack it. I know someone who had his apartment broken into, person used a maintenance code somehow. I have never even met the landlord either, which seems very weird.
