Maple Grove Hot Springs was honestly one of the most relaxing days I've had in a long time. The setting is unreal -- tucked right along the river with mountains around you. It feels secluded in the best way possible. The pools were clean, water temp was perfect, and the entire space just had a calm, grounded energy. You can tell they care about keeping it natural and not turning it into some crowded resort vibe. Staff was super friendly and made the check-in easy. The facilities were well maintained (clean restrooms, places to change, etc.) and the whole environment encourages you to unplug and actually slow down. Amazing experience!!! As a midwesterner, this is something I have never experienced before. This is such a special little gem tucked away in the mountains. Upon arrival, the place was so calm and peaceful; very zen! We were greeted by a wonderful employee at the check in. She was sooo friendly and provided us with all the info we needed. Good vibes all around. We just did a day pass (3 hours) which is plenty of time to spend there for the day! But if you want the FULL experience, I highly recd staying the night! You definitely get to experience the hot springs to the fullest. Come here if you need to recoup and recover from life, don't come here if you wanna party in some hot tubs lol. Also, READ YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL! Lots of important info in there including what way NOT to take into the resort. We almost got stuck and it was a terrifying drive on the side of the mountain. We just had a two night stay (9/5/2020-9/7/2020) for a girls weekend getaway and it was heavenly! We were looking for a secluded area to enjoy a soak and unwind while being safe and away from the crowds. We found all that and more with this small, serene camping/glamping resort. We felt like we had the resort to ourselves as management does not allow this resort to become overcrowded. There was never more than 6-8 people in each pool at any given time. Overnight guests have access to the pools 24/7. We stayed in one of the small yurts. It was super close to the three small hot springs pools and had a wonderful view of the river from the porch. The yurt was clean and has plenty of room for 2-3 people. The parking is also very close to the yurts, so carrying luggage and cooking equipment was a breeze. We especially appreciated the CoVid precautions management enforced with social distancing and cleanliness. Helped us feel safe and secure. We brought our little Coleman camp stove and cooked all our meals at the yurt but there is a community patio that has a community campfire and large gas grill available to prepare food on. The resort did offer tin foil dinners available for purchase ($15/each). They must be pre-ordered and can be cooked on the community fire or the grill. We didn't buy the tin foil dinners, only because we had already prepared all our meals ahead of time but heard other guests say they were delicious. The resort offers bath robes but not towels, so be sure to pack your own towels. The main building, the River House has a bathroom and one shower in the women's locker room. It was very clean and appeared well maintained. My only tips would be to wear water shoes when walking to the pools as the trail to the pools is small gravel and can be a little tricky walking back in flip flops and wet feet. But not a major deal. Also plan to bring a flashlight or lantern (lanterns provided in tents/yurts) with you to the pools as there is very little lighting along the trail and you'll need some light to get back to your tent, yurt or other options. This was our first visit but it seems this resort has had a lot of different managements in the past. The new/current owners (Jordan and Jaynee) have managed the property for roughly two years. They are wonderful and joined the guests each night for a soak and seemed genuinely interested in making sure everyone's needs were appropriately being met, answered any questions and helped make sure everyone was enjoying their time. This resort is very peaceful. It's quiet, serene and presents a great opportunity to unwind and relax. Morning and evening yoga is also offered and appeared to be well attended. There is no cell service, which helps add to the unplugged atmosphere the resort offers. There seems to be something for everyone here. If you want to tent camp, trailer/RV camp or stay in one of the yurts, cabins or canvas tents, you will be pleased and leave rested and feeling rejuvenated. We can't wait to return! read more

Have stayed here several times now and will definitely be back again. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a canoe that you can take out on the river and a shared kitchen (although I have never used the latter). Three hot tubs, right along the river, are available for soaking and the views are spectacular. This place is a true desert gem. There are another two, much larger, swimming pools. I would say that the pools were clean and well maintained- not at all as described by the previous reviewer. My only complaint is that the propane heaters in the yurt did not work. So, just make sure you have enough gear to handle a really cold night. I would also agree with the other reviewer, that on most of my visits, this place has gotten crowded with kids/families, which is a bummer. For this reason, early mornings are the best. You'll have the pools all to yourself and the sunrises are not to be missed! read more

The main house/entrance needs some updates/improvments but don't let that stop you from soaking here. We had a very nice experience - and the views of the Oneida Narrows Reservoir can't be beat! Just returned from a wonderful weekend relaxing and recharging. We just fell in love with the staff (Travis, Amber, Jerry(aka-Gandolf), and Decklin), and of course the peaceful grounds. They have canoes you can take out for free and paddle boards to rent for only $5.00, which we felt was very reasonable. We stayed in the RV Trailer which was clean and equipped with a working stove and refrigerator which was perfect for us as we brought all of our own food. The hot pots are very clean and managed very well for temperature. Bring wood if you plan to build a and also plan to decompress and rejuvenate. If you are looking for a place to booze it up and party all weekend look else where as they are an alcohol free facility which was just fine for us. read more

Last night, a large group of my friends and I drove over an hour from Logan, UT to go to the hot springs. We had checked the website (which stated the pools were open 10am-10pm, 365 days a year) and the Facebook page (which had no recent posts) beforehand to make sure everything was good to go, but when we arrived at the springs all of the lights were off, and it appeared to be closed. While we were standing in the parking lot waiting for the rest of our group of 16+ people to arrive (since this place is in the middle of nowhere and we had no cell service to call them and tell them what was going on) we were suddenly met by an unaccompanied rottweiler, then a man's voice yelling at us from the darkness that we were trespassing and needed to leave. A. If you are going to close your business unexpectedly, you need to make an announcement on your Facebook/website so that people don't waste their time and money driving all the way out for nothing. B. Instead of treating people that have traveled a long distance to use your facilities like criminals, and hiding in the shadows, greet your customers face to face, explain what's going on, and apologize for the huge inconvenience you have caused them. I've never felt so disrespected that I was compelled to write a negative review for a business before, but I just found this behavior so appalling and unprofessional that I had to say something. So if anyone is looking to visit a hot spring that they can rely on being open, and where they will be treated like a valued customer, I highly suggest going somewhere else. read more

This place was a diamond in the rough, but now just rough. My wife and I found this place about 6 years ago and fell in love with how quite, clean, and cozy it was. We would make a trip at least once a year since we found it and loved to share it with family and friends. This last week we made reservations and hauled my brother and nephews along. I kept telling them they were in for one of the best camping experiences ever. We showed up supper excited and ready to settle into a camp site, but we found the fire pit full of beer bottles, cans, cigarette butts, and nasty garbage from the party the night before. Originally they had only 8 camp sites. Camp sites. Now they have built camp sites for 12 or 13. The camp sites have turned into RV parking spots! 2 new yurts next to 3 the private soaking pools, that are no longer private. They are currently building a little cabin with its own soaking pool up on the hill, this does have potential. But back to the camp sites, if you think you can pitch a tent and listen to the crickets and your camp fire crack all night, WRONG! We showed up in the mid afternoon, one guy and his wife had rented one of the yurts that is about 50 feet from the soaking pools. He had a gas generator running, I believe they where there for a family gathering. This family had multiple ATVs running back and forth, up and down the whole Maple Grove hot springs property, from camp site, to yurt, to the lake and back, and even worse they were going back and forth to top off there cups. We are talking about needing to use a razor ATV over walking 50 yards or less. This went on into the night. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my beverage, but there where multiple kids playing on the grass and walking from camp sites to pools. This family had multiple trucks parked on the grass next to the 3 small soaking pools,this family's generator ran until sunset. Once the yurts gas generator finally shut down the 35' 5th wheel trailer's generators started up. This trailer was parked in the camping site next to our camping site, this guy was allowed to set his gas generator 20' from our tents. Crazzy! At about 9 at night this generator turned off for the night. Finally some quite time, not. At about 10pm The family that was staying in the yurt started his generator up again, it ran all night, and he finally turned it off at 9am in the morning. After a small confrontation and telling him thank you for shutting it down, he gave a little smile and said the owners approved the gas generators. I have been to dozens of hot springs/camp sites from Canada to Mexico all along the Rocky Mountain range, west. Maple Grove Hot springs was one of the coolest, unique hot spring experiences out there. That experience is no longer. If you love being over crowded, ATVs all over kicking up dust, trucks pulling right up to the "private soaking pools" generators powering up trailers and TV sets all night, then this is the place for you. I go to a lot of natural and commercial hot springs and this one was really mediocre. Dirty tubs, tepid water, and the bathrooms and the reception area look like they're rarely cleaned. The guide to the pools said they were all different temperatures- ranging from 90 to 107 degrees. I got in every pool and they were all around 100-102. It seems like whoever is running this place doesn't care enough to clean out the pools, freshen the water, wash the algae or mud out of the hot tubs, or mop the bathrooms. The womens' shower was dirty, the light was broken, and there was hair on the walls. Floor was muddy. There were dirty dishes soaking in the communal sink. I'm a hippie chick, but this place was really grungy by my standards. Not worth the $8. Head up the road to Lava Hot Springs... it's a few bucks cheaper-- pretty touristy, but sparkling clean and a better soaking experience. read more

This place is amazing!! My boyfriend and I were traveling through Idaho and somehow came across this gem. They have a variety of places to stay - you can rent out a trailer, a yurt, bring your own tent or camper, and I'm sure there are other unique accommodations available. There have a couple pools to choose from set at different temperatures. Once you have soaked for a while, you can jump in the Bear River and cool off. It is a really romantic place minus all the children running around which was a downside for me (but might be good for you?) It was very family friendly. Ownership is changing and no one is maintaining the property. Partially finished construction is just left. Junk trailers for rent on site (over 50 years old). Previous owners son was only person on duty and not taking any interest in any aspect of caring for customers. Office was dirty, smelly and days old food on a counter. I was told pools are drained and cleaned weekly but were green colored with algae chunks floating in them. Empty partially full and full alcohol containers littering the area around the pools. Very disgusting situation in a resort that could be a treasure. read more

I had heard wonderful things about these pools and was very excited to camp there. However, what I found were very nice people - but the pictures are very misleading. Hopefully, because the new owners (changed hands in May) are in transition. The grass was not mowed, the water was not clear in any of the pools and the trailer is stuck in weeds as high as the door. It did not stop people from coming in groups - probably old reservations from when it was wonderful. There is potential: two new yurts are clean and pleasant and an incomplete cabin overlooking the river. The tent sites and boat dock paths are overgrown...and the canoe and kayak may not be water-worthy. Flies and flying crickets are everywhere. I really prefer to say good things - but this place has a fabulous location and the fortune of an old reputation with great memories for many which made the present disappointing condition more profound. It started with a phone call to see if we could check in early and what was available with the room (ie:electricty or sockets?, check in and out time). with the answers: "I guess so" and "I dunno". Once we had arrived there was no verification process to even check in, we could have been anyone and said we rented a yurt and ok we got it! there is no key to the yurt so no way to lock your things in there if you are soaking or anything. Went inside and it was FILTHY! When i sat on the bed a cloud of dust came up, there were dead bugs all over the concrete floor (not even a rug to wipe your feet on) and all the furniture : the bed, the chairs, & the table. Plus a very unattrasctive fly strip full of flies hanging right over the bed. I get this is the outdoors but i dont have that many bugs in my tent when I go camping!!! I had emailed them the day before to ask about the accomidations and the answered me right after we had checked in...if yoiu can call it that. I just thing at $89 a night i should have to sleep in a single mans hunting cabin that has never beed cleaned!!! The bathroom was the cleanest and nicest part of the wholr facility. This was our favorite place last year and the new managment has totally ruined it for us!! So we actually left and went to stay elsewhere that actually felt clean! Maple Grove is one of my favorite spots to spend a relaxing and fun evening. Living two hours away I always debate driving there, but once I spend an hour in the hot springs it is always so worth it! I've been going to Maple Grove for the past 5 years and have always appreciated the friendly and beautiful environment. The owners are more then pleasant and hospitable.
