Nature!

Loved the location! Full hook ups and the grounds are kept clean. The bright, starry sky's are amazing too

Loved this place!!! Sweet, sweet alternative to a hotel room, or a crowded KOA campground. In addition to RV and tent sites they have a couple wonderfully refurbished travel trailers. The place is run by a young couple who are as charming as the property itself.

First two nights we did the retro trailers third night the wall tents so fun..

Firstly, I've never met a nicer, hardworking family. They go out of their way to meet all your needs. We had so much fun Kai and Jillian

The owners have spent a lot of time and money maintaining, and fixing up some small trailers. The place is very nice. They have a small playground and a great view. This is not my ideal place. I prefer being out away from people. The stalls are right next to each other. This is very typical for camp site around Lava. We had the best stall for our weekend. 11 is away from all the other campers. The walk from this camp ground to the city is not a quick one. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We had problems finding the place, because google told us we had arrived about 1 mile from the turn off. We used apple maps, and it got us there. The owners actually walked us through turn by turn on the phone when we called them. I can not give 5 stars cause this is not my style of camping, and the road is so close making it a little noisy.

We stayed here for one night and were pleased with the campground's proximity to downtown Lava Hot Springs. Everything was EXTREMELY clean. The only reason I'm taking off one star is because our campsite (E) was very dusty unlike the other campsites which had plenty of grass. It would also be really great to have hooks added in the shower rooms! Overall, it was a great stay.

I've stayed at a fair share of KOAs and because they have a very user friendly website, we tend to…read moreuse them in many states. This won't be the case moving forward. I'm sick of the up charging some KOA owners do and this particular location takes the cake. They charge well over $100 a night for an RV spot then proceed to charge extra for every kid, pet, and extra person over 2 people each night. The host at check in even had a clip board to have the guest initial they agree to these charges and numbers provided. In addition they give you paperwork with fines listed if you leave things in the site at check-out. It wasn't the warm and friendly check-in we felt at other campsites KOA or not. This Holiday level KOA does not offer any special amenities like a swimming pool, kiddo activities, jumping pillow, or decent river access for wading /swimming. I'm not sure what makes this one this high level of a KOA except location. The allure of the is for the hot springs in town. This KOA grounds are large with three levels of wide and spacious sites. They also offer cabins but some cabins are just a small box with beds and no bathroom. Bathrooms are located quite a ways down the road in the main office. Sounds miserable to have no toilet or sink for washing up close by. On the end of the property are nicer cabins with all the amenities located just next to the river float entry. But those nice cabins do not allow pets. Also keep in mind that the campsite is right up against the road and very near a double train track that is very active. It's not that bad and can still be peaceful but not quiet from traffic and trains that sound like they are vibrating off the canyon walls as the train enters the narrow ravine where the campground sits. It was entertaining during the day but that first night it was a terrifying rumbling sound. The up side is it's within walking distance into town where all the fun activities are. There are so many other campgrounds in the area that might be worth checking out as another alternative.

Second trip here. Peaceful and quiet. Don't worry about the noise from highway and trains. It is…read morebarely noticeable. Staff is nice and attentive. Had a cabin with view of river. Gas grill and fire pit. Saw a lady giving grief about pet fee, staff handled it gracefully. Walking distance to town

I was blown away by how clean, peaceful, and well-maintained the public hot springs are. The geothermal pools range from 102° to 112°, so you can pick the perfect temperature for your soak -- whether you want something warm and soothing or a hotter pool that melts away every bit of stress. One of the biggest surprises was how crystal-clear the water is. There's no sulfur smell, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. The natural mineral water flows through constantly, meaning it's always fresh and never stagnant. That alone puts Lava Hot Springs above so many other hot springs I've visited. The atmosphere is beautiful, especially with the surrounding mountains and rising steam creating the most peaceful vibe. It's open year-round, and I can only imagine how magical it must be in winter with snow falling around you. Whether you're road-tripping, visiting with family, or planning a relaxing getaway, this spot is a must. Lava Hot Springs is easily one of the best geothermal soaking destinations in the West. I'll definitely be coming back! https://linktr.ee/reessroots

Natural hot spring with multiple pools. It was not crowded at all and we did not have to walk far or fight the dirt road to get to like most hot spring. In fact it looked like any regular pools or spa but as you get close you can see the steam wafting up and as you dip your feet in the water it's "aaaaahhh" at first sigh... hehee I don't remember the cost but it was between $10-$20. There were plenty of free parking. They even have a locker and shower. I can't wait to go back when I'm on a road trip that way. Making plans already...heheh...

Not what I'm used to but...think of it is as your very own personal Schitts Creek experience!…read more My husband and I decided to have an overnight adventure and give Lava Hot Springs a go. While I didn't feel what all the hype was about, this little hotel made the experience the best for us. There were only privately owned hotels and all directly in Lava Hot Springs and then there was this one. While definitely not fancy, it was quaint. It's not in the city, but plenty of nature out your back door which was a fun and interesting surprise. It's not the Grand hotel but it has a bed and running water and it's clean and seem to be kept up nicely. Pros: The bed is NICE. It felt like a new memory foam mattress which we slept REALLY well on. The AC is frigid which is a big deal to me, the fan nice and loud to drown out noises, the little fridge was more spacious than other hotels and my favorite pro? It wasn't in town where EVERYONE else was and it was nice to come out of Lava Hot Springs and just breath while only 3 minutes away. PERFECT. Cons: Two cons but not a big deal considering the value it provided us and I'm a snob when it comes to sleeping away from home. The first, it's RIGHT off the main highway so it is noisy but the air conditioning fan took care of that for me. Two, the smell is a liiiittle musty so bring a diffuser or candle or something to make it more pleasant. It's cute, meets the needs and the front desk was pleasant. If you love Schitt's Creek you'll appreciate all this little hotel gives in its unique and quaint experience. Actually, I recommend it for that! Ha! Would I stay here again? 100%
