What makes this quaint package store so awesome, is the employees. I've been here a few times, & can't recall why I haven't wrote a review. They offer a very big selection of wines, with the grades & information listed on some bottles...tremendous prices. The beers are stationed on both sides of the stores in pretty large coolers. The basic candy, cigarettes/tobacco products are visible. GBW also has the MD State Lottery, really serving as a Mini Mart. If you want to wire $, they also have Western Union. The young lady that assisted me who I asked twice for her name (too much sampling Malbec while shopping LOL), was as friendly as can be & will do her best to answer your vino questions. They are open 7 days a week, so hop off the train, grab you a bottle or two, get back on the train & be on your merry way.

Extremely into craft beer and I came across some good reviews for this spot. Unfortunately all the…read morereviews I read weren't accurate. I rolled in on a Friday night. This place is your typical corner store with average selection at best. One of the clerks decided to act like he was stocking the beer to make sure I wasn't stealing anything. I get it. I have a mask on and there's a decent amount of shady characters hanging around the store so I wasn't offended. To break the ice with him I asked them if they carry Barleywine. He told me that he never heard of that before. That statement really explains why this review was needed because this is not a place you need to seek out for any thing craft beer related. The manager was friendly as I checked out so it's all good. I drove 20 minutes from where I was staying based on the positive reviews so that's not their fault of the store but don't make the same mistake that I did seeking out this place for seductive selections.

If the hours have changed, it's management's responsibility to post the update online and at the storefront--otherwise, at least one employee is obligated to open on time. The lack of both shows a total disregard for the value of customers' time, and not everyone is walking distance. Those of us fortunate enough to live in Bethesda have lots of choices, and I'll be buying wine elsewhere from now on.
