When I first arrived, I was ignored by multiple staff members including a manager while others who came in after me were helped first. It was honestly disappointing and made me feel uncomfortable, especially noticing the difference in how customers were being treated. Thankfully, Kelly stepped up and showed what real customer service should look like. She was attentive, respectful, and made sure I was taken care of right away. If it weren't for Kelly, this review would have been very different. Management should take note, she's the standard of how customers should be treated.

The store was well stocked with plenty of snacks and drinks, and everything was easy to find without wandering around too long. The staff were friendly and got me checked out quickly, which I appreciated since I was trying to get back on the road. Gas prices were about what you'd expect, nothing amazing but not outrageous either.

The next week, my friend had to change her oil and had the supplies to do so. The owner charged over 35 for not an hour of labor, but HALF AN HOUR OF LABOR, and went $20 over the "estimate." Her oil change totaled $56, not including the oil and filter she bought and brought to them before their transaction even began. A business that thinks it's ethical to overcharge an estimate by $20, top off when a person just wants an oil change, and somehow used 15 miles' worth of gas in her tank to change her oil is a place owned by scam artists. These people take advantage of students and their distant parents. Unless it's an emergency, I will not return to this business that insults the integrity of Sewanee; this place does not represent the university by any means. I'm ashamed of our only auto shop and hope most people can get into town, at Monteagle, where they are certainly more trustworthy--you just can't get any worse than Sewanee Auto.

She saw me try it and saw it didn't work. She then calls her husband over and wants me to try it in front of him, didn't work. They both then get mad at me when I literally didn't do anything. I wasn't rude to them, simply stated that it didn't work and they are seeing themselves that it doesn't work. The husband then told her to give me my money back and she proceeds to tell me that there is a problem every time I go in the store. I asked her if she can give me an example because that was not true at all (I hardly go in there anyway because it's a dump). She's couldn't which I guess made her more upset. I told them I will never be back in there and I won't that woman has a terrible attitude every time. They literally got upset for no reason. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced in a store. Everytime my daughter goes in there she watches her like she is going to steal something. Terrible people who have no business running a store or dealing with people. Also, it's unkept and the store itself looks more and more run down as time goes on. If I could leave a negative star review I would.
