Terri and Carla are always at the front to greet people as they enter the studio. They are both so friendly and welcoming! After just one visit I was greeted by name every time after that! They have about 10 different teachers although I have not had a chance to take classes with all of them. But two of my favorites are Betsy and BeAnne. They have two completely different styles of teaching but both are fun and challenging! The studio is very clean and has natural light from the many windows. The best part is that they have mats, blankets, bolsters, blocks, everything you need for class all to use free of charge! My only complaint is that they don't have a place to refill water bottles. Yes, they have the bathroom sink and they sell dasani water but I would really like a water fountain or any filtered water area outside of the bathroom. In the large scheme of things this isn't a make it or break it thing buuuuut I figured I would mention it :) Overall this is a great studio and I've already bought a class package as I will be a frequent customer!

I was introduced to Svaroopa yoga here and definitely became a fan. I have also taken Hatha with Kim and she is a great teacher as well. They are welcoming to people of all levels and abilities so don't feel intimidated if it is your first time taking yoga. I've taken class with men & women in their 60's to high school boys who were taking Hatha as an addition to the training regimen. Plus, if you are in the Roswell/Alpharetta area the location is great - downtown Roswell with plenty of parking.

She understands your skeptism and welcomes it because beyond the actual practice she talks you through everything she is doing, She makes the atmosphere condusive to allowing a healing process to take place with a soothing background music and nice aromic oils and candles. She doesn't push you, she talks to you. You always feel like you are in good hands. I have also had the pleasure of going through a yoga class with her and again she uses the same philosophy there. You feel like she really wants you to get everyhting out of the experience but she never pushes, just guides. Ultimately you get the general feeling she gives a crap about you and your well being, instead of just sanctifying the purity of the process. Literally I have been to some Hilter-esque yoga classes and felt like the red headed stepchild but never with Chris. Don't get me wrong she cares about the process and it's purity too but she also understands that on your first day you may not be able to do the Straight legs side crow. I found the studio online and of all the studios I looked at, it had the most variety of classes at times that worked for us (after regular working hours and on weekends). We signed up for the initial $20 unlimited 2 weeks pass and crammed in as many classes as we could over that time. Every class we took and every instructor we worked with was fantastic. I did 2 of the video classes as well. Everyone was kind and welcoming. And we loved that every single class and instructor reinforced that everyone's yoga practice is individual and we should feel free to modify as needed and ask for help when needed. We have since purchased multiple of the 30 class packs but I think we'll switch to the monthly rate as soon as we've used all of our classes. We look forward to the 2-3 classes a week we attend; they've become so much a part of our weekly routine that everything feels "off" if we miss one! The fact that Lift has now added a John's Creek location is even better for us, since we split time between my home in Alpharetta and my partner's house in John's Creek - so wherever we are, we can find a class time and location that works. Final note: I can only assume the handful of people giving 1-star reviews and complaining about the studio being "activist" and "political" are anti-maker folks who bristled at being asked to wear a mask and social distance inside the studio. We gladly wore our masks for the first several months we attended and continue to distance while inside the studio when requested. Yoga is not a-political. The very essence of yoga requires truth, justice, peace, and learning - and yes, activism. Anyone who doesn't understand that doesn't understand yoga.

This particular class is ninety-five degrees (just enough to be cozy without being suffocating) and open to all levels. My hamstring and hips are super duper tight so I struggled to hold some of the poses, but the teacher (I forgot her name but she was great) always offered modifications to make the poses either easier or more challenging. She explained in detail how to perfect alignment, which muscles are targeted and the specific areas we should feel the stretch (for me: Every area. Every time. Didn't take much.) I used blocks and a strap, and the poses were held long enough to get the benefit of the stretch and then move on. (I get very antsy and aggravated when teachers sometimes get lost in instructing another student and forget the rest of the class is patiently waiting to move into the next asana!) I think she gauged the abilities of the people in the room and adjusted the stretch accordingly, especially on very intense, demanding poses. I walked away feeling less tight and decompressed. I will be back and recommend this class to anyone struggling with tight hips/hamstrings! Other notes: -The music played during class was good. -There is plenty of parking. -I really like the flooring, it has a little "give" instead of being rock hard like some places. -The girl at the front desk was super nice, she let me borrow a cup to bring water into the studio.

Nothing is worse than a studio that only offers one (or zero) hot flow classes each evening. The heating of the studio is good, I can get my sweat and detox on. Some studios are luke warm and I need to wear a hoodie to get a sweat going. Most of the instructors were great, however one was lackluster and was also in poor physical shape. Considering I only had 5 new student classes to use I wish I had that one back. I think the pricing is a bit high for me, which is why I didn't sign up for a membership. Heck, the 5 class new student package for $50 is VERY pricey considering competitors offer 30 day unlimited for new students for around $30-$50.

They have a nice variety of classes and instructors, cap each class at 10 people total, and is non-heated (which I personally prefer). The first time it's hard to find, as it's nestled back behind the complex of businesses, but parking is easy and it's super accessible. It's no-frills, no gimmicks, just real yoga, in a cheery, bright, and cozy location with kind staff.

Sunny Street Yoga is the studio I have been looking for! There are so many things I like about this…read morestudio - I'll address them in the order of things that appeal to me most. First, Sunny Street limits class sizes to 10. I LOVE that classes never feel crowded, and I never have to rush to get there too early for a spot. Additionally, I never have to worry about the potential awkwardness of touching strangers accidentally in class. (Okay, there are certainly worse things, but this is so awkward, right?!) Next, this is truly a studio that offers many styles of practice. If you are looking for strength and stamina, you can find it. If you are looking for restoration and meditation, you can find it. If you are looking for a flow that combines the two, yep - you can find it. Like an earlier reviewer, I am LOVING the Ashtanga classes. Additionally, all levels of practice are welcomed. Props are readily available, and modifications and enhancements are offered for many asanas. In my experience, classes typically have participants that reflect a range of experience levels. All are welcomed and encouraged. I have never seen anyone pushed beyond their comfort level. All instructors I've practiced with (I have been to classes offered by five different instructors) have been incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and encouraging. I regularly sign up for classes with all of them as my schedule allows. Sunny Street has a handy app for class registration. All classes require registration in advance, and the app makes it so easy to check out the schedule and register for classes. It is super user-friendly. You can also monitor the number of participants who have registered for upcoming classes. Sunny Street also offers other wellness classes and special events, such as book clubs, circles, and general wellness events. They also sponsor events in the community, such as Friday morning yoga at the Forum. There appear to be a number of opportunities to connect with other people who practice at the studio if you are interested in doing so. Finally, it is easy to get in and out of - open parking lot and close to a number of neighborhoods. Classes are affordable and membership is a great value! I highly recommend a visit. Did I mention that they have great offers for visiting guests? Check them out on social media or their website for more details. See you at the studio!

From day one, the vibe in this place is different. The other students are genuinely warm and welcoming, not just tolerant of the new guy stumbling through his first chaturanga. But the instructors are the real reason people become regulars. This crew is equal parts knowledgeable, entertaining, and invested in the people in their classes. They actually know who you are, where you're at in your practice, and how to push you without losing you. That combination is rarer than it should be. And then there's the owner. She has built something special here -- a studio that the community genuinely loves, which is a direct reflection of how much she loves that community right back. Her classes fill up fast and for obvious reasons: this isn't incense and silence, it's deep stretches and power flows with Journey blasting and the whole room laughing and dripping sweat. It works, and it's fun. Operationally, this place punches above its weight too. Open every single day of the year, solid class sizes (no awkward three-person sessions like you'll find at other East Cobb studios), and a schedule that actually fits real life -- heated, non-heated, power, slow flow, and stretch options running from 6am to 6:15pm. If you're on the fence, grab one of their new client specials and give it a month. You'll leave feeling better physically, and you'll have found a community worth being part of.
