Oh and the shelf for toiletries is a joke! Take a look at the closet. Its not large to hang a sport coat without hitting the back wall. No way to actually gang my business attire for the week. Good lord. Would have gotten 1 star except that the reception was warm and helpful.

There was a post budget media event next morning. Just couldn't find a room. Then got the YHA room with en-suite. It was a good deal with 2 bunk beds, a double bed and a sleep out on the floor. There was a tv and a clean and hot shower. Worked really well. There was some kinda work site next door that got me up early with machine tools and other mechanical noises. Still managed to get the badly needed 7 hours to revive the muddle mind. May have put a holiday maker off but I had a 730 meeting at the private dining room in parliament for a media event so that helped. Tea & coffee facilities. No fridge or safe in room but cooking facilities and large refrigerators downstairs for food storage. You can't stay longer than 14 days though without manager saying it's ok! Good for back packers & groups traveling to Canberra!

Meeting rooms are very nice and the staff was excellent that attended to our conference. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful as well. I had stayed at this Novotel for 6 days and only requested room service twice during my stay. I had noticed the first night that the mini bar was not full and notified the front desk about this issue. I had never used any of the items and room service never refilled the missing items, but yet after checking out I was still charge about $50 AUD for the missing items. It took about a week, but I was refunded the money so no worries on that. Room overall was clean, but the carpet was stained and needed some deep cleaning. Also one of the windows was not closed all the way so air and a lot of noise could get it. Location wise this is a good stop to stay if in the Canberra area and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for dining and Canberra Centre is within walking.
Hotel was fairly disappointing. There were no huge issues, but enough small issues to leave me…read moredissatisfied. There was a hair ball on my carpet when I arrived, the mirrors and lighting are awkward, as is the bathroom. The hotel staff didn't know if the pool was heated, although their brochure says it is (I heard someone ask and I heard them say they didn't know... maybe she was new). They claim to have umbrellas available for guests, but they didn't have one available for me. The room service I got, their home made curry, was pretty bad, and didn't come with the side salad as described. Again, a bunch of small things turned me off. The hotel staff was very nice. I would stay here again if I was on a budget and this was the only place that fit.

Basic but new, clean and convenient…read more The hotel is a few months old (I believe opened in May 2019), so everything is fresh, nice, modern, in great condition, and clean. Also very reasonably priced. Our room was nicely sized, had very basic decor, and a convenient little kitchenette. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the hotel again, either on business travel or for leisure. Pluses: - Friendly staff. - Convenient location. - Enjoyable buffet breakfast. - Three fast and quiet lifts. - Comfortable beds. - Shower with hand-shower. - Fully equipped kitchenette. - Good speed internet Minuses: - Parking was not available onsite. - Curtains allowed light in the morning. - Weirdly mounted tv in the studio area makes watching tv rather challenging.

Only negative was that the QR code system wasn't working for ordering from the table, so we had to go inside to the bar to order but the service was always fast and if your order wasn't going to be ready right away (like another other than just pouring a beer) they gave you a number and would bring your order to the table. Atmosphere here outside was nice, but definitely want to try to sit inside next time to see more of the pub itself

We had a large group and you order from an online menu but the servers don't get a name so it takes a while to figure out who gets the plates that come out.
