An actual witch must be baking these pastries because how in the world are they so good? I came by a on Saturday morning with group of 8 and I don't think a single person got something that they didn't really love! I eneded up getting the monkey bread and the artichoke escargot (don't worry, there aren't any snails; its just shaped like a shell) and thought they were both divine. The monkey bread was just the perfect amount of sweet without being overwhelming but the artichoke was the real star of the show. It was so flaky and garlicy. Just typing this review makes me want another one! The shop itself is really small and the parking lot seems to fill up fast. They do have a few tables out front for a quick nibble but something to keep in mind when visiting. read more

okay maybe I'm just used to the manresa in Campbell LOL but this is a teeny place! just a counter with pastries & a couple shelves - definitely no drinks or actual food no tables except for small ones outside - the ones around the corner are not open for use (only for the winery or whatever) got a monkey bread - standard to monkey breads at all other manresa locations read more

Manresa Bread - Bakeries Near Me - Santa Cruz, California

Came in on a Tuesday morning and was greeted by Ava, who was very pleasant. After viewing their selections, I purchased a sourdough baguette and a croissant. I really wanted a chocolate chip cookie, but could not bring myself to spend $5 on it. But, I will say... it looked marvelous. The baguette had a lovely crust and a great flavor to it. Probably one of the best true baguettes around the area. As for the croissant... absolutely amazing. So flaky and light - I think you'd be hard pressed to find one better around here. I know the prices aren't so palatable, so that's where a star gets docked, but I will say their pastries hit the spot. read more

It's been awhile since I've been to Manresa, the last time I visit was years ago at their Los Gatos location ! Nice to see they open a small bakery here in Santa Cruz but it taste so differ to what I had in the past !! Both the laminated pastries I purchase was lacking layers, buttery flakiness and it was in the soft side ! The chocolate croissant I thought needed a little more chocolate buton read more

Apricot scone was dry without evidence of cream. Contained what I think were currants but chewed like hard, chewy something's. Over baked.

Location and Ambiance Manresa Bread, is located in the lively square that has coffee, shops, breweries, restaurants, wine, tasting, and now empanadas thanks to Fonda Felix. This bakery exuded warmth and charm when I noticed it from the street. The aroma of freshly baked bread greets you as you step inside, creating an inviting atmosphere. Vegan Bread Selection: As a vegan, I was thrilled to discover that all of Manresa Bread's baked gluten offerings are confirmed vegan. Their baguettes, in particular, are yum!. The crunchiness of the crust and the tender inside dough texture were spot-on. It's evident that they take pride in their craft. Technique: Bring some prepared, guacamole or slices of avocado if you intend to eat such as the square with 11th hour coffee in front of Santa Cruz yoga. But better yet, take the back at home, it up with some vegan spread or ideally with fresh cracked salt and pepper all over it and a few dollops of hot sauce. Can't go wrong. ### New offerings? I'm a fan of the seeded baguette at Companion Bakery but they often run out of them by midmorning and they're also closed on Monday. I have a suggestion: How about introducing a seeded baguette with poppyseeds, sesame seeds, or other nuts on the outside at Manressa? It would add a delightful twist and cater to those who crave variety. ### Early Bird Gets the Warm Bread Manresa Bread tends to sell out and close early. I recommend arriving early , before the crack of noon to have the best selection. If you get there early for a small charge, they'll put extra gluten on your gluten! You can then get your bread and pop into 11th hour or verve coffee, which are both very short walks from this bakery and enjoy your gluten. ### Final Thoughts In summary, Manresa Bread is a gem for vegans. I wholeheartedly give it five stars and look forward to new vegan surprises on their menu. read more

Manresa Bread - bakery outside. The person at the register here liked my PRIDE colored Apple Watch band so I gave her a flyer to come celebrate with us. - Bakeries Near Me - Santa Cruz, California

Flashback to my venture @manresabread in Santa Cruz, located at 330 Ingalls St.. They have a few locations but this is the only one I know of in Santa Cruz. Manresa provides all the Verve Coffee locations with their delicious pastries. At this location in Santa Cruz, they sell both their breads and savory/sweet pastries, not coffee. No problem, @vervecoffee was right down the street. I bought an almond croissant, a tremendous chocolate soufflé, and a coffee glazed croissant that sells out with a quickness!! They often sell out of items, so get there early. Everything was great and they mill their own flour! You can taste the difference. Perfect for chilly coastal mornings. It's located in an awesome business district with multiple coffee/wine spots, SC Mountain Brewery, and small spots to eat at. Shekkitout. read more

During our vacation in Santa Cruz, we made a point to visit as many shops as we could within walking distance of the parking lot. Manresa Bread was a place we needed to check out. When it comes to bakeries, Joe K and I love the smells and freshness of a working bakery. This place had a nice selection of baked goods, but we especially came for the bread. Our plan was to break bread and drink wine back at our hotel. It has an amazing view and the thought of a small family gathering overlooking the beach seemed like a special way to get together. We purchased a loaf of wheat sourdough bread and a few other snacks. The shop has several varieties of flavors making choosing difficult. But Joe can only handle sourdoughs and we all love sourdough anyways! This bakery worked well into our plans and we were glad we stopped by! They are a bit pricey, but everything in Santa Cruz seems to be! read more

Definitely go for the almond croissant, and some of the pastries. Wasn't too big a fan of the coffee, tried a few different ones but nothing I personally liked. read more

This review is based on one amazing loaf of bread, it was so delicious, as good as my local (if not slightly better) bakery in Berkeley, that I had to make sure to Yelp it. Amazing texture, great even the next day, still moist and amazing toasted. read more

Manresa Bread - Such good bread! - Bakeries Near Me - Santa Cruz, California

The levain bread rocks. Might be the best loaf sold in this town. The pastries are pretty good, slightly more expensive than others. Got the orange cranberry scone and chocolate chip cookie. I think the cookie was made with whole wheat so it had a different taste. Not bad, but wouldn't run back for it. read more

I love Manresa bread and been for long time. I been noticing this for some time now. Sunday and Monday batch is questionable. Taste more like day old Levain bread. My brother went in for me this morning and at the wee hours croissants and other pastries are sold out. Yes Levain taste like day old and paid a full price. Manresa what happen to your passion and quality control, please make it better. read more

The croissant was nice and fluffy, but it could have been a bit more buttery. The Olive Foccacia was good - very olive flavored, and the olives in it were very good olives. But it could have been a little more moist. My daughter said the chocolate croissant was excellent - but then again, she thinks all chocolate croissants are excellent. Small Shop. They have a few tables outside which are nice. Credit Card only! read more

We got a loaf of olive bread, a lemon poppy muffin with raspberry topping and two chocolate chip cookies. The bread was good, super fluffy and it had whole olives which was great. The cookies were good but nothing special. The muffin on the other hand. OH MY GOODNESS. Easily the best muffin Ive ever had and probably one of the best pastries. Worth coming here for that alone!! And then there was the woman working who was super friendly and provided us with an extra muffin for free because it was the end of the day, talk about a come up!!! Will be back for sure! read more

The olive bread is a winner. A unique bread that takes a special magic touch to make. And this place knocks it out rightBetter get you some .No Place in town even comes close delicious read more

Brand new location for Manresa bread. Another great addition to the west side. It is still developing since it's only been open for a few days but the pastries are top notch quality. We tried the Kouign Aman and Pain au chocolate. Both were delicate, delicious, and well made. They are essentially a small room with a desk that has the available pastries out on display to choose from. They also have a bread wall and some miscellaneous merch items. We enjoyed our pastries and look forward to seeing how everything develops. read more

I recently bought bread at Manresa and was really disappointed twice...the olive loaf was either over-baked or stale!!! When paying $10 for a loaf, this is inexcusable. I'm wondering about their quality control in such a small store... read more

Got the olive bread and carrot cake muffin and although both were tasty, it's overpriced IMO compared to other nearby bakeries with similar offerings. Honestly could give 1 star for the service. We walked in to an empty store and the girl working there sat there for a long time reading her book before acknowledging or welcoming us to the store. They weren't helpful at all once they did stand up. I asked if they had a bread slicer and she straight up just told me to go slice it myself. Super rude. Will not return read more

All the bakery items we ordered (kouign amann, croissant, etc) were all very fresh and delicious!

Our favorite bread and we drove to Los Gatos once a week to buy before they opened in Santa Cruz. My only question is, while I understand why they don't have slicer on site due to store size, Since the bread is sent over from Commissary, can't they send sliced loaves‍. They are just so much easier to have! read more

Bought the levain. It was delicious but a bit dried out.. was probably baked the night before

How many people in Santa Cruz buy a $10 load of bread? I feel places like this have a nerve to charge $5 for a small muffin, $5.50 for a chocolate croissant with a minimal amount of chocolate. I am really underwhelmed. And they don't take cash, which is annoying. read more

Really good baked goods, outlandishly overpriced. $70 for a Panettone...... $10 for a loaf of bread (plus taxes plus tip)

Absolutely the most delicious almond croissants on earth! As a very special treat, I never questioned the price. Unfortunately today they were noticeably smaller than they were the first few times I bought them. SO disappointed, leaving me unsure if I will return. read more
