One gigantic old Kanata silver maple had split and was starting to decay in the cleft, making it a fall hazard. Manotick Tree folks came out, with crane, workers suspended from fixed branches, and totally removed the tree in one day. They left the area spotless after, and were very careful about protecting a very close fence and other property areas. They also opened the canopy on another huge maple nearby, and at our request, took great care not to tred on small spring flowers that were starting to grow underneath. Unfortunately, we have had to remove 2 trees from our property over the years (the roots of one of them was eating into our foundation and the other tree was growing dangerously close to power lines). As much as it broke my heart to have to get the trees cut down, safety always trumps any crunchy granola sentiments. We used Manotick Tree Movers both times (several years apart) and they were great. Their phone staff are friendly and courteous. The guys who came to cut down the trees were punctual, efficient and polite. They cleaned up the area really well and were very professional. We purchased a large beautiful Oak Tree 2 years ago. Manotick Tree's delivered it and planted it. It is beautiful ! Their service was top notch and the experience of wondering their selection of trees in an evening was amazing. They have everything set up, from the map, to the description and prices. You can wonder around at your leisure and when you find the right tree you are looking for, you tie a ribbon ( supplied) with your name on it, fill out a form and drop it in the box!
