The king rooms have a walk in shower and the twin queen bed rooms have a bathtub/shower combo. I mention this as those traveling with kids might prefer the tub option. Every room has a mini fridge. Traveling with little ones here is nice because they can offer a microwave in your room if requested. Made a big difference for us traveling with a young one. The gym is small but they do have a peloton bike among other equipment like free weights and other cardio equipment. Complimentary breakfast has warm savory options like egg burritos both with and without meat. They also offer oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and bagels with plenty of refreshments. Parking is free and easy to find. There's also a complimentary shuttle to take you to places on campus if you have no car. There are also bikes at the hotel to get around. All in all, we enjoyed our stay as did our guests for graduation.

They are pretty common these days so don't think it would be a hard thing to put in. We had to keep buying water bottles from the front desk which felt wasteful. This hotel is downtown with plenty of things to walk to. The restaurant next door that does the room service for the hotel is great.

Other than that, I loved that it is a Hilton hotel, and the fact that it was lower in cost for Hilton Honors members as I am currently. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing of what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key. For your information check-in starts at 3:00 PM and ends at 12:00 AM! And check-out ends at 12:00 PM! I must say that the hallway felt never-ending as I walked down it to locate my room; and the carpet had the softest cushion like feel. After locating and entering the room, I said to myself "Oh my God" once I took notice of the kitchenet area which appeared so elegant! It came with a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, a sink, a built-in electric cooktop, plus cabinets that came with dishware, and pots & pans inside. Now the furniture in the room gave the room a homely like feel which made me anticipate my stay with Homewood Suites. It was those things that totally charmed me out of my panties, tehehe. There were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% inside of the shower attached to the wall. Seems like hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made really great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting the inside of my ear, tehehe. Other things the room came with that I noticed were an iron, ironing board, an extra comforter, and a few lamps with electrical outlets. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Homewood Suites, as expected, appeared immaculately beautiful! Leave it to me to forget my bathing suit, hindering me from swimming in the pool onsite even though I knew about it as I booked the room. It was great having a fitness center onsite because I was in dire need of a workout. And I was impressed to see the number of dumbbell weights, decent looking workout machines, and even a peloton fitness bike within. Served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, it was a relief having the complimentary breakfast because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. There is a coffee shop in lounge that opens at 7:00am. It has very good coffee, some Danish and yogurt and granola. The plus side to this hotel is it's location. Student orientation was held downstairs and public bus stop is right outside or around corner in front of bookstore. People at front desk were very nice. One clerk gave us directions on how to take the bus to a restaurant about a mile and a half away.( we didn't have a car-took a shuttle from the airport down to Urbana) The idea in taking buses ,etc. was to familiarize my son with local transportation and acclimate him to the area. Rooms are well appointed with kitchenettes and a large bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. As with other TownePlace Suites locations, there is a complimentary breakfast each morning. Not really a meal to write home about but it does the job of getting you refueled and ready for the day. I will be staying here in the future for my campus visits. Recommended.

While I awaited repairs to the new home I bought, I stayed at Comfort Suites in Urbana, a brief four day sojourn, but LET. ME. TELL. YOU! Okay, so firstly, am I right on this or am I right?! Like, have you ever seen a Comfort Suites so highly rated? Maybe I'm unfamiliar with the brand, I admit, I think that might have been my second or third one (Chicago being my first and that one had windows that shook with the wind ;)), but not only was the room lovely (spacious for sure!) with all your typical amenities, but for me it was the STAFF. THE STAFF in this place (and yes, it deserves a shout) is like.... PHENOMENAL. STELLAR! OUT OF THIS WORLD. Now, before you think I'm over-exaggerating, let me tell you why... I'd not only returned to Champaign after being gone for 15 years, but I'd returned home after the dissolution of a 30 year marriage! On my own again, alone! Not only had I come back without a husband, but I'd returned without the awesomest use of my legs (after a tragic accident), so with two huge suitcases and a house I'd only seen through a videocam, I'd made a lot of big moves. Especially for someone with a pretty massive handicap! Well, Sales Manager Laura was there ALL. THE. WAY. She helped me physically, she sat down in my room with me, she like actually listened to me share my tale, she took GENUINE interest (there was no -hand out- or even an *ask*, I assure you!, (the only mention of money was my own, stating that I wished I could give her staff more for all *their* help (and her comment was only to say that they were hardworking and deserving, which they were!)). Laura was professional, but she made no effort in hiding her heart of gold, and I'm here to tell you, friends, it burst from her! She was professional, like I said, but she was so compassionate and caring and she shared her life with me in return! It made the whole thing feel like she was a friend! And, honestly, there was something really revelational in that (in that it was so rare, but sweet and earnest!). When my time was up, Laura helped me pack my bags, get the car around, and she hoisted those two huge bags into the my trunk like she'd been working life-long at the airport! From there, she bundled me up, sending me on my way, out into the great unknown! With a lot of hope, a lot of heart, and a huge smile! All of this hospitality -- yes, there's the word! -- all of this work in the name of care and concern for her customer! A stranger she'd just met! A person who, in the span of a couple days, made feel like family. Comfort as a brand, at least for a while, was using the slogan "Rested. Set. Go." but it was Laura who truly made me think of a real oldie. Something that felt more applicable to my time spent there... and like an old pair of jeans warm from the dryer, a real comfort classic, it was a staple in that industry -- "We'll leave the light on for you."

My big issue is that the room temp has a cap at 75 degrees and it shuts off frequently even when the auto is not on. We haven't even hit negative temps in the area yet so I'm curious how the heating is through the winter. There was also hair on 1 of the towns when I entered the room.

It is in a quiet neighborhood near the University of Illinois campus. We chose the Dr. Lindley King Suite which is located on the third floor of the building. It is a huge room with antique furnishings, a stained glass window, a high ceiling and a very comfortable king size bed. Our hosts Sylvia and Ernie were very friendly and engaging. Sylvia is originally from Ireland hence the name of the Inn. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast mixed with lively conversation. One of the highlights was Sylvia's homemade muffins. When I mentioned to Sylvia how much I enjoyed the delicious Irish tea she served she gave me a take home gift of tea bags. If you are visiting Urbana and would like stay somewhere different than a typical hotel, consider Sylvia's Irish Inn!
