I've been at this school for over 10 years and I have to say that the management was better when…read morethe old owner was still in charge. Mrs. Remtulla, the previous director of education, was more "in-touch" with the school. You can see how truly she loved the school and she genuinely cared. On the other hand as soon as her daughter, Ms. Remtulla took over, things started going bad. Once the high school was added, grade eights had no graduation because they expected you to continue on to the high school. When asked about the graduations teachers and the principal said it was the director's idea and we couldn't do anything about it. My parents have paid for over 10 years of tuition and uniforms only to be told there was no graduation. This school is not worth the tuition especially if you are in middle school and thinking about going here. If you are in grade 7, you will be in the Stouffville campus and there the campus is trash. Sometimes the water doesn't work, sometimes the heating doesn't work and sometimes the water isn't clean. I strongly advise you to go to a public school instead to save the money. Some teachers genuinely don't care about you and most of the good teachers have left. Some of the teachers I had had no idea what they were teaching and they wrote tests based off of things they don't even know. Some teachers have clear favourites and a lot of them get mad at some other students for no apparent reason. One teacher I had yelled at one of my classmates when they were correcting her about their name. She called him one name and he was trying to tell her that wasn't his name and then she sent him to the office. To get to the gym, you need to take a hike to get there. The gym is secluded behind a bunch of trees. We had to hike in the snow there for gym classes. Overall, this school isn't worth the cost especially for the higher grades. Good luck.

This school has great facility for it's price. Both for the CASA and Elementary…read more They even have their own theater, playgrounds with two different play structures, Library and Music rooms. Great selection of After School programs. Parking is a little over crowded during peak pick up and drop off hours. They do realize that and are planning an underground parking in the future. Like all schools, having the right teacher who gets along with the child and parent is the best fit. And to be realistic, this cannot always be the case. We did encounter some teachers that did not fit well with my children, but the administrators can take care help if you voice out. Overall, this is a good school. Children are very happy here and have made a lot of friends of all classes.

Our child enjoyed the time at this daycare centre. The aspects of Montessori education provided by…read moreher teacher was great. The facility is clean and the outdoor play area is nice. There are some differences between the programs outlined on the website and how the classes are structured (ages in each classroom didn't match when our child was there), as well as some closures on days other than stat holidays. There is little communication between the administration and parents, which is frustrating when changes are taking place (e.g. teachers moving classrooms, upcoming closures), or there are events that parents could participate in (e.g. bake sales).

The staff are wonderful and warm-hearted people with an impressive educational background. I had gone and seen a few of the locations of this school and was lucky enough to get my son into…read morethe River Grove branch of this school. The teachers at this location are really sweet and have been so good at getting my son adjusted to being away from Momma. He is one of the youngest students and didn't express himself very well verbally before he joined. In just two months he is talking in larger sentences, cleaning up his toys (sort of) and putting on his own jacket! The teachers have been helping him potty train at school...seriously, thats the nicest thing! Its not a super fancy school by any means but its comfortable and the children are always happy. I am really lucky that I got him into this Montessori :)

My then 3 year old son was in the first batch when there was a change of teachers in 2009. The…read moreMontessori taught him to be responsible for himself (eating on his own, wearing shoes/jackets, etc) and his toys/books and nurtured his love of learning and reading. Since he was a bright child, they let him explore and taught him things at his pace, that other 3 year old's were not exposed to. Their way of teaching, especially phonetics and spelling is simply amazing and even today my son can spell and pronounce any unknown word almost correctly, 9 out of 10 times. Ms Ursula and Ms. Arifa and the rest of teachers at that time did a wonderful job with my son and all of the students there. My son was always happy and excited to go to school and simply loved being there all day.

It is a family run, traditional Montessori school, and so the atmosphere here is unique, and I would even say special. The classes are small so nobody gets lost in the shuffle. There is a strong focus on community, and teaching the children how to navigate the world in an independent and responsible, respectful, conscious way. I really can't say enough good things about this school, honestly. I sometimes wonder what I would do without them :) I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of going in the Montessori direction, to definitely check out Discovering Minds.

They have been so helpful and trustworthy that I sent my other two children there as well; all three passed their classes with flying colours, thanks to the great help. My daughter says that she will never forget the valuable advice and guidance the staff at Scholar's Edge provided her with. When receiving tutoring from this company, it is so much more than just help with the basic subjects at schools. The staff is always ready to give guidance and advice on career paths, and the environment on the table is much more friendly than one would expect. They are not at all strict with the students, yet are able to improve the marks with such great ability, that it has left my wife and I stunned. Thank you so much, Scholar's Edge.
