Flying into London Stansted and then taking the train into town was WAAAAYYYYYY cheaper/easier and more fun...plus this hotel is within walking distance to downtown Brentwood where you can find a number of family friendly restaurants/english bars/classic English feel! The rooms are either in the historic house or in more modern buildings around the property. Our room was tastefully furnished with a clean and modern en suite bathroom in a building behind the older house which faced the main road. There are even chickens and a garden area if you like to sit outside. Parking is also available. You need to fill out a form to select any cooked breakfast items the night before. The breakfast room is light and airy as it's a large conservatory. However, there is also a selection of yoghurt, fruit and cereal available in the breakfast room. The breakfast is good and you can even have home made jam with your toast. I tried a few of the cooked items and particularly enjoyed my scrambled egg on toast. Unfortunately, the tea is PG Tips and the vegetarian sausages are Linda McCartney which are not my favourites although these things are a personal preference. The portion sizes are good and the breakfast is enough to get you ready for the rest of the day!
