I can't speak enough praise about Dr Branovan and the office staff. I have an inner ear issue which…read moreas I suspected is in need of attention. This was my first visit to Dr. Branovan and after an easy check in process at the front desk, I saw the doctor. He looked in my ear, throat, and put the camera device through my nose. We had a question and answer back and forth of my symptoms. He explained what he thinks is wrong with my ear and suggested treatment with antibiotics, two nasal sprays - followed by a CT Scan of my sinus. He then told me he knows exactly how I am feeling - as if my ear is under water when someone is speaking to me and he was spot on. (It made me feel great to hear him say that because it's a big fear when you don't know if a doctor can really understand what is bothering you). Additionally a huge thanks to Tatyana at the front desk for helping me with the CT Scan process and pharmacy information. I really don't know why anyone would give less than 5 stars. Because they waited a while? I personally didn't wait - and was seen on time but even if I had to wait - isn't that a testament of how good the doctor is that so many people want to see him? I just can't say enough good things about the experience and am excited to cure this problem which has been an annoyance to me for years. Thanks guys!

God has this place gone down the tubes, probably because Papa Kantu isn't running things anymore…read more Seems like one of his sons "stepped up." He did my sinus surgery about 5 years ago. That whole process of pre and post surgical treatment took a lot out of me then, between allergy tests and constant back and forth visits. Thankfully, post-surgery I went from getting a sinus infection once every other week, to once or twice a year, I'll take it. This past fall I had a particularly bad one to the point where I could barely keep my head up. Therefore, I deemed it necessary to go to an ENT. First off, since I hadn't been there in years, they gave me the new patient treatment. I know how my body works and Kantu would give me a certain shot that opened my sinuses up right away. I specifically asked for it. The PA who was now treating me, instead went and gave me strong antibiotic after strong antibiotic with steroids. She then asked me to come back in 3 weeks for a follow up. I show up for the follow up and soon after, began to wish I didn't. The wait time was extreme and the entire office literally shuffles people from floor to floor. I apparently was scheduled for an allergy test as part of my follow up, I didn't know that, nor did I care for one as I took one years ago it didn't solve my problem then. What a giant waste of time. Then, I'm told to go back to the waiting room. After waiting for another 40 minutes, I am put into another office to talk with the PA. Little to no actual follow-up occurs. She clearly didn't read my chart, speed talks my allergy test results and then offers me ANOTHER antibiotic, severely misdiagnoses my jaw swelling. She then tells me to come back for another follow up and to go back to the waiting room AGAIN for someone to schedule a cat scan for me, to look at my sinuses. I was in the waiting room for about 20 minutes before I decided to just leave. I left feeling like I wasted time and money, I was so upset. I especially felt like I was not being listened to. I come to you for one severe sinus infection and you're sending me for cat scans and allergy tests?!? Literally no consideration, especially since I already went through all that years ago. There's no way I'm going to put myself through that again or coming back here.

Second time I had to go to NYU in the city in order to see a specialist since she once again didn't prescribe the right stuff. I had a simple infection that turned into a something worse because it wasnt treated properly. She is unpleasant, and you feel like you are in a clinic back in the USSR when visiting her. Those of you who have been to one of these clinics will know exactly what I mean. For those who have been fortunate to not be spoken to rudely by your doctor who feels that he/she is G-d, then you would have a difficult time to comprehend what it feels like. Nevertheless, she has been a doctor for many years and treated people who are in their 40's since their childhood, and it appears that she does not keep up with reading new discoveries and treatments. I do not suggest that you go to her for more than ear cleaning. I ussually don't review doctors, because it's a very personal opinion, but I honestly feel bad for people not to be treated for their symptoms properly.

If you happen to be someone that used Metroplus or medicaid/medicare type insurance, I think you will find this much different than some other offices Ive been, for example Lafayette Medical Center in Bedstuy in 400 blk of Lafayette, that place is a horror show. Anyway, I was very pleased. As for the office not speaking english, thats completely untrue. Im American and dont speak russian and everyone spoke english, the receptionist, the nurse, dr etc. I did have to wait awhile but they offer walk in appt only I believe. You just have to live with that or get there when they open...not sure I have only been 2X. The Dr. herself (Kalika, Sima) did a good job diagnosing my problem and it wasnt easy. She was quick to administer the correct protocol and also do the correct lab work. Btw the way to the review again...lab work is not allowed to be given over the phone..thats HIPAA not the dr. fyi. Google it, HIPAA privacy is a nightmare. Overall the RN was great and I was pleased with the Dr. Like I said its a clean office and organized...everything exceeded expectations AND they take medicaid type insurance.

The worst bedside manner and very unpleasant individual. Couldn't tell my mom anything about her problem, he is an impostor. I think his medical license was "bought" ages ago when he started his practice and it was actually a thing. No way he's a real doctor. No way he's educated in medicine! No real doctor, especially an ear, nose, throat specialist would say "we hear with our brain." I am shocked and appalled by this idiotic display of total unprofessionalism. Somewhere he has 5 star review, no way it is real! The only patients who may be happy with him are the clueless, no-English-speaking seniors and he is robbing Medicare because he cannot possibly provide medical advise or medical service.
