I made an appointment for my first visit to a dermatologist for Feb of 2026, filled out their forms…read moreonline, uploaded my identification and proof of insurance and attended the appointment. When I checked in for my appointment, I had to fill out more paperwork and give them my proof of insurance and identification again! Why would I have to repeat this?I noticed a sign in the lobby that stated that full payment is due at the time of service. During my appointment I had a biopsy performed and two areas frozen on my face. I paid my bill in full as I was charged. A few days later, I received a call from a staff member with my results of biopsy and was told that I needed to be scheduled for a procedure to remove the carcinoma. Before explaining the procedure they immediately went into scheduling. This news caught me a little off guard and I had a lot of questions regarding what the procedure was and what I can expect. Maria explained it verbally and moved forward with scheduling the procedure for the second week of April. Two weeks prior, I was out of the country and received a call telling me that the dr doesn't take my insurance. Now wouldn't you think that this would have been known before my initial visit when I provided my proof of insurance or even at the time of biopsy when they had to provide a cost of service before performing the biopsy? I certainly would have thought this and believed that they had done so. So, I had to cancel this appointment as well as a future appointment for a full body scan. I thought that both of these appointments were cancelled as I had asked and then I received messaging confirming my active appointments that I had cancelled. So this tells me that the person I communicated with didn't cancel my appointments. This resulted in yet another call. Now once I was back in the country I received messaging confirming a bill in the mail for an additional $19 and some change. How can I be receiving a bill for something I was fully charged for and I payed in office? This is not a company or clinic that I can recommend at all. After dealing with these unprofessional administrative errors, I don't have faith in their dermatology treatments and procedures either.
