Recently, however, I had a problem with her office staff that spiraled out of control. Apparently, her office was (and may still be) using a outsourced company to take some of her phone calls. It was more than just an answering service, however. The people from this service would provide information and pass along requests to the in-house office staff, unless they don't. I was prescribed medication that contained counter indications for my kidneys according to the literature. I decided to contact Dr. Dhawan's office on a Sunday and I expected to leave a message. Instead I got the outsourced service. I explained my concern and was told the Doctor would be informed and return my call. That never happened. I waited a couple of days and called back. No one in the "real" office staff had any knowledge of my first call. Some additional promises were were made and not kept. By Friday afternoon, I was pretty wound up. I called the office again trying to get some kind of timeframe for when I could get my simple question answered. That call did not go well, and I was irate; I'll own that. I just wanted to know how and when I could get my question answered. Dr. Dhawan's office assistant became upset and told me she didn't want to talk to me. Instead, she was going to put her manager on the phone. I later found out that her manager was not in the office. That sorta explains why I was placed on hold forever. I finally realized that twern't no one coming back. So, I hung up and called back. This time, I got the answering machine that I was expecting a week ago. Now, at this point, I had been screwed with for a week and it was 4:30 in the afternoon on a Friday. They weren't answering the phone and that meant another weekend before I could speak to anyone just to find out if and/or when I can get this simple question answered. So, I sat down and enjoyed a beer to relax. Haha! No, you know that's not what I did. I grabbed my car keys and drove down there. When I arrived, perma-hold chick was hiding in the treatment area. Another lady greeted me and kindly listened to my epic story. She apologized and promised to have Dr. Dhawan call me. The doctor did, in fact, call me probably the next day, but it was soon enough. The first thing she did was answer my question. She answered it a lot. Like, it was more or less a yes or no deal, and she spent fifteen minutes on this topic. I assume she was burning time so she would have an excuse to ignore the customer service problems that were definitely on my agenda. And yes, that's what was happening. I thanked her for the exceptional fifteen minute yes or no answer and told her I'd like to discuss the problems I had. She would have none of it. She began to berate me for being impatient. She then--and this is really good--accused me of placing myself as a higher priority than her Covid patients who were dying. What?! Umm, no. She has also mastered the art of talking at the same time as I did, never once giving me any opportunity to say anything. So, towards the end of this encounter, I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere and I shutdown. I politely let her finish saying crazy things and she ended the call. I doubt she knew anything about what actually happened or even when I first called. Her staff probably rallied to create a new narrative that omitted what they did and dialed up my hated of people dying from covid. Because that's just so who I am. It's too bad that no one will read this. There are like six reviews here or something. So listen: as far as I know, Dr. Dhawan is a good doctor. Everything else might be a ticking time bomb, but your mileage may, and almost certainly will, vary. Stay safe out there. And if you're on Lithium, get your blood work done regularly.

I am VERY disappointed in the lack of customer consideration I recently experienced at Silicon…read moreValley Sports Med under the leadership of Dr Tiffany Gorman. I proactively sent an email to my doctor (Dr. Doscas) asking about some recent tests and prescriptions only to be notified that my doctor has left the practice. While Dr. Doscas was a great doctor, I'm puzzled by how this was all handled. I received no email or comms from my doctor, the management team nor was I given any guidance on next steps in switching doctors. This is unacceptable. I should have been proactively notified and should have been made aware of my options ASAP. I called and texted the office several times to speak to Dr. Gorman about my experience but did not receive a call back. Instead, I received an impersonal, cold and sterile letter a few days later notifying me that I needed to find another doctor. I would not recommend this practice to anyone given the sloppy nature of my situation was managed- it's completely unacceptable.

I actually chose a couple of doctors before but ended up canceling both times. Finally, after more searching, I found Dr. Kristina Hobson in Los Gatos. To be honest, when I first walked into her office, I was already looking for an excuse to cancel again. But once I spoke with her, I was really impressed with her knowledge and the way she explained everything, so I decided to keep my appointment. Today was my procedure at Silicon Valley Surgery Center, and I had such a great experience. The facility was clean, calm, and very nice. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful. From the front desk to Barbara, who helped review my paperwork everyone was kind and welcoming. My first nurse, Kay, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. When she went on break, Nicole took over she was also amazing. I'm not a fan of needles at all, but she did my IV so gently and with so much care. Then Kat, the third nurse, took me to the procedure room she was kind, calm, and very professional. Dr. Michael Block, the anesthesiologist, was excellent. He actually texted me the night before to ask if I wanted to review everything ahead of time or on the day of the procedure, which I really appreciated. We exchanged a few messages, and then he spoke with me again before the procedure and explained everything clearly. He was confident, knowledgeable, and very reassuring. In the procedure room, I fell asleep within seconds and woke up quickly afterward feeling great. Within about 30 minutes, I felt completely fine. I was even able to take calls and respond to emails. And now, about Dr. Hobson ,she is truly a 10 out of 10. Honestly, the entire experience was 10 out of 10. From the office to the surgery center, every single nurse and staff member was exceptional. I'm a very detail-oriented and perfectionist person because of my job, so I don't say this lightly. Something I was so scared of and postponed for 5 years turned into such a smooth and positive experience. Thank you to everyone

She said she would call in for pain medication to my pharmacy and if the X-ray was normal, she would order an MRI. It has been 2 weeks and no request for MRI even though the X-ray was normal. She also has not called in a prescription for pain medication and when I called twice to find out why, the response I got was that I should take over the counter medication. She clearly does not remember our conversation and has not followed up on anything that was discussed. Meanwhile I am in constant pain with no follow up or help from the doctor or her staff. I am adding to this review to state that the medical assistant staff is probably one of the most incompetent I have come across. I unfortunately had to deal with this office again to obtain my xray information for a visit to a specialist. On the phone, I requested a CD of the xray and Blanca told me that she would make the CD and have it at the front desk for my pickup so I could take it with me to my appt. When I got to the office, 30 min prior to my visit, there was only a paper copy of the results and the office staff; including Blanca told me they don't make CD's. Completely frustrating encounter with this staff. I will never visit this office again.

This injection is meant to help decrease inflammation that was causing pressure on my sciatic nerve. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. I checked in at the front desk. Luckily, the day before, they emailed me a link to fill out all my paperwork. That proved to be very helpful and made the check-in process very easy and fast. The facility is very modern and large. There were quite a few people in the waiting area waiting to be called back for their procedures. The waiting area is very nice with plenty of seating. There was a big flat-screen TV for all to watch while waiting. They have a self-serve coffee area. You can choose your flavor and variety of Keurig pods and easily make yourself a nice hot coffee. My husband took advantage of that. I was called back within 15 minutes of checking in. The nurse taking care of me did a great job explaining the procedure and the order of events that were going to take place. She did an amazing job inserting my IV and kept me warm with heated blankets and a heating machine that blows warm air under the blankets. Since it was freezing in there, the warming machine felt so nice. I got to meet everyone in the surgical suite and was able to ask my Dr. questions before anesthesia was given to me. The surgeon, nurses, and technicians were all so nice and made me feel comfortable. Before I knew it, I was in recovery. The procedure was successful. They offered me juice of my choice while I was in the post-op area. The nurse removed my IV and helped me get dressed, while my husband moved the car to the patient pick-up area. This was one of the best outpatient experiences I have ever had. Everyone was so professional and friendly. They were very thorough with going over all my allergies. I'm allergic to a lot of medications, so that part is extremely important to get right. They took excellent care of me. If I need to have an out patient procedure, in the future, I would definitely choose to have it done here. I highly recommend coming here for an outpatient procedure.

My anesthesiologist was also fantastic, and of course I had a great experience with my doctor. I felt very well cared for by the clinical team. Where I think there is room for improvement is the front-office experience. The front desk came across as somewhat unprofessional and there wasn't much acknowledgment or greeting when patients arrived. Communication with the finance department was also frustrating, as I had difficulty getting calls returned. Overall, the medical care itself was wonderful and that's ultimately the most important part to me. I just wish the administrative experience matched the level of professionalism and warmth I received from the nurses, anesthesiologist, and my doctor.
