The real attraction here is the walk on the north Manitowoc jetty. On your way to the lighthouse you will come upon a water impoundment that can be rife with shore birds. A little further on is the Paws and Play dog park. Beyond is the walk to the lighthouse. If it is windy and the surf is up you might skip the lighthouse walk because you'll get wet or worse. All in all a nice area to spend a couple of hours. Bring your binoculars and snacks. On a sunny day this can be a great day in the making. On a cold, rainy day, not so much. People in Manitowoc are usually friendly. Take the time to chat, you might make a new friend.

This lake is best known for large mouth bass, but panfish including bluegill, perch and crappies are also found here. Use of motors, except electric motors, are prohibited." There is a picnic area with grills and tables. Playground equipment has been developed on the hillside northwest of the parking lot. A picnic area with a grill and a small shelter and toilet are located near the parking lot on the lower level. The lake access has a pier, which is used for both launching and fishing. This 19-acre lake offers good rainbow trout fishing as well as large mouth bass, crappie, bluegill, perch and northern pike. Use of motors on this lake is prohibited. You will see fishermen with high power bass boats moving slowly, using just their electric trolling motors. The wooded area between the two arms of the lake yields an area that promises good birding. Good fishing draws attention. At any given time you will see folks wetting a hook. There are 1.2 miles miles of shoreline. The lake averages 25 feet, with 54 feet being the deepest spot. The boarding dock, and the route of travel to it, is ADA accessible. This lake is described as a seepage, "two-story" lake. If you are looking for a nice fishing spot, a place for a picnic, a place for small gathering, or a nice place to get into the woods it would behoove you to find this nice little park off of county highway XX. There is a natural path through a wooded area that gives access to the beach. This beach is a lightly traveled one that is good for a picnic or just relaxing in solitude.

Point Creek defines the southern boundary of the property, which includes over 1,000 feet of riparian corridor." I love this place!! Little known place is a secret of locals. Outstanding birding area, mergansers offshore. Last year, while I was there, I was surrounded by dozens (yes, dozens) of golden crowned kinglets. The trails are relatively easy. The spruce forest is a haven for birds. Last fall I saw an elderly couple come out of the woods with several baskets of mushrooms. I, myself, have foraged for edible mushrooms there many times. The views from the bluff are fantastic. The beach is sandy and lonely. You will rarely encounter anyone on the trails. This is a magical, remote area that is a must visit for nature lovers. Deer, fox, porcupines, and all nature of other little critters. I will reiterate that the birding is wonderful. The area where Point Creek meets Lake Michigan is a magical place. If you want to commune with nature in a truly beautiful place, this is a hidden gem you will not want to miss. Bring someone you love, a bottle of wine, and a picnic lunch. Don't forget your binoculars.

This is a unique park in Manitowoc County. There is a natural limestone escarpment that runs along…read morethe West Twin River. The park itself is well maintained. There are natural caves that have formed in the limestone escarpment. Some are just big enough to peer into, and a couple you can wiggle into for a few feet. The caves are marked so you know which one you're looking at. The park has some good hiking trails. This is the main reason I come here. There is a nice trail above the escarpment. That one winds around several acres of wooded landscape. The lower ones follow the escarpment to each cave and continues along the river for the better part of a mile. If you're into hiking, this is a nice 4 mile hike.

It soon turns into a dirt path. There are several foot bridges that cross little gulleys. You have to love autumn. The leaves were colorful. Most of them have fallen and provided a colorful blanket on the forest floor. The path was cleared for the most part. The parts that weren't were easy to follow as the trees are marked with paint spots. The trail meanders through the forest. There are a few short steep inclines that will get the old heart pumping. There are roots that pose a trip hazard, so pay attention or you may end up doing a face plant. The splits are well marked. We hiked 2.7 miles in all. This will be a trail we will hike often. This trail is built for city folks as it is six feet wide and covered with gravel. The Vetter Trail leads you to the Vits bike trails. As this trail is on Woodland Dunes property, no bikes are allowed There are side by side well built toilets. As there is no parking at the Vits trailhead, this is the lot you can park in and bike a half mile to the Vits entrance. Grand opening was in May 2023. A nice easy hike in a cool, calm woods. A ways into the woods is a very nice picnic spot with a table and an ancient tree sculpture. If you're looking to get into the woods that is close to town, this is where you want to go

Driving range. 2-3 tees per hole. 3 baskets per hole and they are all in every time (not just moved around like most courses.) Rakes to get your disc out of water areas and deeper mud spots. Nice protective wooden fences in danger holes. Cement tee boxes. Garbages on a lot of holes. Benches to rest on many holes. CONS: Muddy on some holes. $5. Don't get disc out on water holes.
