A well maintained trail takes you along the Little Manitowoc estuary. You can see herons, geese, ducks, gulls and terns, not to mention various songbirds. There is a really slick exercise area with weather proof weight machines under an outside shelter building. There are benches to sit and relax. The trail takes you from Maritime Drive to Waldo Boulevard. This trail links up with the Maritime Trail that can take you to Two Rivers. There are a couple of small picnic areas. There are no facilities in this little place. Dogs are allowed. If you are looking for a nice spot to bird watch, take it easy, or have a quiet picnic with views of a river and nearby Lake Michigan it would behoove you to seek this pretty place and chill.

There is a picnic area with grills and tables. Playground equipment has been developed on the hillside northwest of the parking lot. A picnic area with a grill and a small shelter and toilet are located near the parking lot on the lower level. The lake access has a pier, which is used for both launching and fishing. This 19-acre lake offers good rainbow trout fishing as well as large mouth bass, crappie, bluegill, perch and northern pike. Use of motors on this lake is prohibited. You will see fishermen with high power bass boats moving slowly, using just their electric trolling motors. The wooded area between the two arms of the lake yields an area that promises good birding. Good fishing draws attention. At any given time you will see folks wetting a hook. There are 1.2 miles miles of shoreline. The lake averages 25 feet, with 54 feet being the deepest spot. The boarding dock, and the route of travel to it, is ADA accessible. This lake is described as a seepage, "two-story" lake. If you are looking for a nice fishing spot, a place for a picnic, a place for small gathering, or a nice place to get into the woods it would behoove you to find this nice little park off of county highway XX. A small, lakeside park just north of the marina. there is an ample parking lot and a very nice…read morebathroom facility at the north end. A couple of picnic spots and a small but nice beach area. The real attraction here is the walk on the north Manitowoc jetty. On your way to the lighthouse you will come upon a water impoundment that can be rife with shore birds. A little further on is the Paws and Play dog park. Beyond is the walk to the lighthouse. If it is windy and the surf is up you might skip the lighthouse walk because you'll get wet or worse. All in all a nice area to spend a couple of hours. Bring your binoculars and snacks. On a sunny day this can be a great day in the making. On a cold, rainy day, not so much. People in Manitowoc are usually friendly. Take the time to chat, you might make a new friend.

This park is right on the coast of Lake Michigan. There is a boat launch, an outdoor shelter, restrooms and picnic areas. A great place to take in the grandeur of Lake Michigan. The Town of Cleveland is pretty stingy with information about this place. Not much else to add. It is a nice spot.

The famous lighthouse hole is one of my favorites and there are plenty more fun and interesting holes to play. Be prepared to look for your discs if you go off of the fairway. Trails lead from the parking lot down to a creek and the lake. Nice spot for a birding outing or a picnic. Good place to bring your kids, as the place is pretty safe (as long as you keep your kids away from the cliff). But there is a lot of lawn between the lot and the cliff. There is an old silo next to the parking lot. When I was a kid, the rumor was that some guy hung himself in it. It does have an eerie feeling to it. Walking down the road to the beach you will find an old metal bridge in the middle of nowhere. You can drop a fishhook there if you want. A bit farther to a small beach. Some of the place is pretty wild. But the park is a bit tame for my tastes. I prefer the Point Creek Conservation Area a few mile north on the same highway. Yet, this place is a nice place to spend some quiet time and do a little wildlife observation. Just a click north of Cleveland. Hey, it's me again. Just to let you know there are two parts to this park. Just out of Cleveland there is a southern parking lot. There are bathrooms there. Drive north a bit, cross the creek, and there is another parking lot. This is where the spooky silo is; and the walk down to the old bridge. I prefer the northern part. They are both a nice spot to hang out for a quiet time.

Outstanding birding area, mergansers offshore. Last year, while I was there, I was surrounded by dozens (yes, dozens) of golden crowned kinglets. The trails are relatively easy. The spruce forest is a haven for birds. Last fall I saw an elderly couple come out of the woods with several baskets of mushrooms. I, myself, have foraged for edible mushrooms there many times. The views from the bluff are fantastic. The beach is sandy and lonely. You will rarely encounter anyone on the trails. This is a magical, remote area that is a must visit for nature lovers. Deer, fox, porcupines, and all nature of other little critters. I will reiterate that the birding is wonderful. The area where Point Creek meets Lake Michigan is a magical place. If you want to commune with nature in a truly beautiful place, this is a hidden gem you will not want to miss. Bring someone you love, a bottle of wine, and a picnic lunch. Don't forget your binoculars.
