There were many tricky aspects to it and he conquered all difficulties. I felt the price was fair - he was definitely not the cheapest quote I got, but I had followed up with references who raved about him - and I can see why - he did very good work. That said, he could have been a better communicator - I would have liked a written proposal and I wish it had not been me to follow up with him on "are you coming today" - however, he had had an emergency in his family so it may have been just that. I very much recommend Jorge for porch railings. Plus - added bonus - he's a really nice guy!

They also did a great job in repairing some subpar drywall work that was done by the original contractors. While in the process of painting the walls, we had casually asked Jorge if his team also did trim work. Jorge was easy to work with and accommodating of our schedule. We will be definitely be using Jorge and his team for future projects.

A corner of the plaster ceiling in the living room was falling away from the lathe. He was able to quickly cut out the deteriorated section and replace, mud, prime and paint over a two-day period. In addition, before our most recent tenants moved in, Mark painted the entire place (2 bed, 1 bath) over the course of a 3 day period. In addition, during this time he was able to do some repair work throughout (drywall, carpentry, etc.) In the summer of 2015, Mark helped my wife and I make our kitchen a reality. This was a complete gut-rehab. He moved a wall, completely rewired the kitchen, laid a new floor and floated it into the existing hallway floor (hardwood maple), installed new cabinets, moved the drain lines to put the sink in front of the window, added a dishwasher and crafted a pretty sweet washer dryer enclosure. We contacted him for multiple bids for work we needed done around our home over time, and he provided us with 3 very reasonable quotes. We could not do all the work at once, so we hired him for one project to start with--to build a fence in our back yard. We paid him a deposit of half the cost of the project per our agreement. Work to start the following week. It appeared that he did not actually have an available crew or the necessary equipment to do the job and rather than be honest with us, he strung us along for almost 2 weeks with assurances that he was going to be getting his guys out. We ended up with only 6 poorly installed posts that were only 2 feet deep which we later learned is not in accordance with city code. He also installed them 3 feet in from our property line because he said the ground was overrun with vines and roots, making it impossible to dig through. This is true if you don't have the right equipment. When we questioned him on these points, he became very hostile, stated that correcting his work was "impossible" and hung up on my husband when he stated we wanted our money back. All our attempts to contact him have been ignored. We have never experienced a situation like this with contractor that came so highly recommended. We trusted him based on his reviews and our friends' recommendation and are now out a few thousand dollars. You can PM for more details if you are thinking of hiring him for anything. They were quick, professional and so far no issues with the work. I wish I had more resources to get my entire viewing parts of my fence replaced. We liked Mamut's work that we have gotten a second quote on more work that Mamut will be doing for my family.

I gave dave 4 thousand dollars to paint an empty 800 square foot condo with no furniture and he didn't finish painting kitchen or hallways or closet shelves. It was an easy job. But it was a nightmare. I have a list a mile long. The straw that broke the camels back was him doing something simple like putting a rod in my closet to hang my cloths. Well I put my last piece of clothing on rod and the whole closet rods and brackets came out of wall on top of me. He came back after his vacation 1 week later and fixed it then he measured wrong and I couldn't open the drawers from dresser inside of closet that he knew I had to open the drawers. So that being said I couldn't trust Dave installing my cabinets for premier. He can't even hang a closet rod let alone cabinets. Hit or miss kinda a guy. Live and learn. Reviews are for a reason.
