Of course Wells Fargo can not make it easy like ANY other bank and let you do this simple task online, they tell you you must go in person into a branch to fill out a new beneficiary form. So while I am at this branch I ask the lame-o teller for a beneficiary change form. She asks me if I have an appointment! Appointment to fill out a short, common, every day form with one signature needed? No! Sorry, I did not see any need to make an appointment. Then she tells me there are no "bankers" there today, all day, and I should go online and make an appointment for next week. What the ...??? Sorry, I don't have time for that. Didn't realize it would take an act of God to change the beneficiary on one damn account. Lame, understaffed, lazy people in this branch. Ridiculous.

I visited this branch and they said "we don't know why, don't see any suspicious activity, but can't tell you why your account was closed". Then to add insult to injury, they charged me $8 to cash my check after they sent me my remaining funds. I asked why the fee and their response was "because you're not a client we have to charge you". I could only laugh. The tellers were pleasant. I hope they can find a bank to work at that doesn't treat their clientele this way.

This review is more about the telephone customer service. There was a time when it was easy to reach customer service by phone. No more. Today, I called at noon. I opted for a call back. Now it is 2 pm and still no call back. Two hours without a call back? That's unacceptable. Another issue that only happens to MFCU and not my two other credit unions and credit card company is their interface with Quicken. For years I've had problems and get no answers or resolution. I've decided to close my accounts but even that is not made easy by MFCU. I now live out of state and in order to close my accounts I have to send a notarized letter and my driver's license photo by mail. Maybe this is SOP in the industry but for me it is part and parcel of doing business with MFCU. Hopefully soon, I will not have to deal with this credit union any longer.

I was gaslighted today by an office banker. Came in 2 weeks ago to have a complimentary analysis…read moredone of our retirement financial situation after having the same thing done about 8 months before the pandemic. The first analysis revealed that our net assets and expected post-retirement spending levels revealed that we were good AND it showed what our net worth would be upon our deaths. Two weeks ago the analysis results (shown to us in the office) did not include the latter (net worth upon death). I was told with great certainty, while in her office, that that was never part of their model. I disagreed and the banker agreed to ask her colleagues if previous models did provide that important piece of information. And I agreed to play around with the model (online and available to me on my Chase app) when I got home. A couple of days after our meeting j happened to be in the branch and my banker came up to me and informed me that 3 of her colleagues agreed with her that that net worth info has never been provided. I thanked her for that info. The next day I opened up my Chase app and found the model with all of our information in it and found the net worth information (line graph) I wanted (net worth on Y axis and Time on X axis) in plain sight. I sent screen shots to my banker and she did not respond to that email or a follow-up email. I went in to the branch today and she was kind enough to see me and that's when the gaslighting started. She claimed that she showed me the chart while my wife and I were in her office. The meeting did not go well. It was very short. Be careful.
