Complete waste of money. I was given a terrible tutor who only liked to tutor on physics when I needed help with other sections. He was very inflexible about meeting and would cancel a lot last minute when I was already almost at the meet location. And to top it off, when I started having these problems I emailed the company requesting a new tutor or some solution and they just ignored me. Would not recommend. read more

Unfortunately, this prep didn't work out for me as expected. They are misleading and have little to offer in comparison to their competitors. I had Vinh as a GMAT tutor. He is very patient, friendly and explains even the smallest steps. He was always eager to explain the topics to me in an understandable way. He was also very cooperative about our appointments. But sometimes I had the feeling that he is not prepared and works unstructured. I paid for Manhattan Testprep's TOEFL program back in May 2018. The program was advertised as a package of TOEFL test preparation classes taught by (i) experienced instructors with intimate TOEFL knowledge (ii) in a group setting meant to maximize the student's learning experience. Upon payment, Manhattan Testprep's sent an off the shelf questionnaire designed to place me in an upcoming session, at which point I clearly mentioned my anticipated test date in two months of July 2018. Manhattan Testprep failed to place me in a session that matched the requirements per the questionnaire as they did not have group sessions available. In fact, Manhattan Testprep forced me to compromise for a completely different private tutoring package that failed to provide the unique benefits advertised with group preparation. Without any alternative options provided by Manhattan Testprep, I was asked to attend the private tutoring sessions (ii) not in a group setting but (i) taught by an experienced TOEFL instructor. After two introductory sessions with the assigned instructor, I learnt this instructor had absolutely no experience teaching the TOEFL. This clearly contradicts the terms and condition of Manhattan Testprep's TOEFL preparation program offering. With the upcoming July 2018 test date and Manhattan Testprep failure to honor the terms and conditions, I was forced to promptly cancel the program and seek a full refund. The refund was requested on June 8 2018. Manhattan Testprep argued against any refund as per their refund policy, which was only shared as reference after I filed the dispute. Furthermore, with regards to any policy reference, it's only valid if and only if the merchant renders its promised product or service. In this particular case, Manhattan Testprep falsely advertised a program offering and failed to deliver the promised service. This kind of behavior is deceptive and unlawful. read more

I took the evening classes on Wednesday and they were challenging with the instructor George. It was good though because he gave us a prep before each class and then went over the questions. Some questions were really hard though... I then started taking tutoring with Lucy who was awesome! She broke things down so well I felt like I had been stressing over the math part too much! Frustrating experience to say the least. I worked with a tutor through Manhattan Elite Prep and actually scored worse on my subsequent tests after many more hours of studying and effort. I put forth a good faith effort as best as I could and was met with criticism and negativity. I was contacted via cold-call on Linkedin to tutor a student in-person about a week from first notice, based only on the score I earned (without Manhattan Elite Prep) on the same standardized test. When I questioned this, they blocked me on Linkedin. Manhattan Elite Prep might have some great tutors, but this behavior seriously concerns me. I am so lucky to have found Manhattan Elite Prep. The services they provide are superb! There are always very qualified tutors to pick and try-out from, and they always keep the students' need as the priority. My daughter did the math and science of ACT with Emily and her scores shot up after two months of tutoring. The supporting staff are equally professional, they answer questions in prompt manners and always helpful. Now my daughter is working with a Spanish tutor Stephanie who is knowledgeable, responsible and has a great personality, and my daughter loves working with her. I used other prep services before but Manhattan Elite Prep stands out not only for its top level tutors but overall services and prices. Hiya, I needed to take the GMAT in order to get to B-school 'cause my company was paying for me to get my MBA. I really needed to get into Columbia so I could stay in the city and do some work for my company during my free time. Anyway, I took Manhattan Review because I went to an info session, and got some money off (it was like $100 bucks I think) and it actually turned out to be really worth it. I was apprehensive at first, because I had taken a prep course way back in the day with Kaplan for the GREs and it didn't pan out so well. This one was good though, our teachers knew their stuff and the classes were small. Also, their material was good, and I haven't seen their practice problems in any of the other prep books i got, which is great, because there's a lot of stuff that just gets repeated in other books. Anyway, I got in Columbia, which is awesome, so I'll be there for two years starting in the Fall. So it was well worth it. read more

I was assigned me Adam as a tutor through Manhattan Elite Prep and he was amazing. Here I was, 10+ years out of college and never really great with math to begin with, trying to learn this monstrous amount of information in a very short amount of time. Adam was patient, helpful, and explained things as many times as I needed for them to sink in. I was so anxious about the GRE, and Adam helped me calm many of those anxieties. I did very well on my essays and my qualitative portions. I did well enough on the quantitative, considering how long it'd been since I'd done more than calculated a tip on a dinner bill. For me, as a working professional with a strong mathematical background and not so strong on the verbal, taking the instructor-led course was the optimal solution. I was worried that in a classroom course the other students would slow me down on the Math side and that in such a course I might not reach the performance I am capable of. Likewise on the verbal side, I was scared that I would slow others down. This was not the case at all. Behind the course stands a superb instructor, George, who is deeply dedicated to the student's success. George was fun, challenging and motivating! He taught the class in a friendly, easy to grasp manner and showed us invaluable tricks that are not found in the textbooks!!! It was clearly understandable, effective, and most definitely a painless way to prepare and succeed in the test. I ascribe at least 100 points of my final 680 score to the course, George and the staff at MEP who gave me the chance to take a shot at achieving one of my dreams! I did not receive any credit from you, why do you post this misleading information? Yes, I indicated that I'll be happy with the upgraded package that included an expert tutor, which I've never received. I indicated many times that this tutor is not expert, she made the same mistakes that I made, she has no feedback to improve my essays, and she just says this is good. How on earth I'm gonna improve with this tutor. Yet, the representative failed to find another tutor who is in fact an expert, after they requested a whole week to find another one. After that, they told me that there is nothing they can do. And I said before that I've never used the online library as there is no way to improve myself without feedback and the resolution of this library is so small that I cannot see anything on my computer. And I did not receive 4 hours of private instructions, unless you count "this is good, and continue" as English instructions. My experience of essays review with Manhattan Elite Prep Admissions is disastrous to say the least. I have planned 1 month before my deadline and communicated my plans with the counselors, namely, Tom and Stuart and I was prompt to reach out to check if everything is in place. But the services provided is just disappointing and unprofessional. Although the advertised turnaround is 5 days, 1.5 weeks later, I didn't receive a reply from counselors as I sent in my materials, I had to follow up with no response and the school administrator took 1 weeks just to coordinate between counselors. All together I lost 3 precious weeks of planning because of this and I had business travel plans lined up. I was trying my best to coordinate my schedules but it was a nightmare to be having good expectations out of such reputable center. Though my last counselor, Adnan, was prompt in contacting me, but his service was just baseline. The review of my essay1 and resume was done on the fly after my complaint and it was only reviewed once. Due to timeline issue, i asked for my essay2 to be reviewed but I didn't receive additional guidance concurrently for essay2 as promised. After all the struggle, I was only able to send in my essays on the last day of university while I'm on business travel though I planned the work 1 month in advance. I have had several email exchanges after my review with the center and they further disappoint me with their very defensive stance and putting the blame on my communication and expectations rather than trying to improve their service level. The conversation was nothing short of being rude and presumptuous about our interactions thus far and I find it hard to further express my disappointment. This is unacceptable and I'm sorely disappointed. I will not recommend this expensive but unprofessional service to anyone. read more

I enjoyed all my classes. My SAT tutor Don Kim is a good and reliable tutor, he showed me many strategies which were useful on exam.

I had a positive experience with MEP classes in Washington, DC. There are multiple options for courses on different days and times and for different lengths of times (rush courses, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, etc.). The course experience depends on your instructor- I had a wonderful instructor named Laurel who was incredibly helpful. Students are allowed to sit in on courses for (I think?) 60 days after their original course's end date, but usually the instructor changes. I tried sitting in on some classes after my original session ended but decided not to because the instructor was not good. My least favorite thing about MEP is that enrollment in a set session (6 weeks, 8 weeks, etc.) is rolling and not limited to the beginning of the session. I found it frustrating to develop a rapport and comfort with my group and then have new students join who are not at the same level of preparation. The group size (even with the new additions) never got larger than 6. The courses are affordable if you keep an eye out for Groupons- I paid $500 for an 8-week course. read more

I worked with their tutor George for 5 sessions where he targeted my weaknesses and helped improve my overall math knowledge, as well as my ability to see test patterns and concepts that I will need for the GRE. Manhattan Elite Prep has been nothing less than amazing! I am so glad I decided to prepare for the GMAT with them. I paid for an online course in 2012 but could not take it because I was too busy working a million hours in NYC. Almost 2 years later, I am living in an entirely different country with terrible wifi connection, and MEP has done everything they can to help me take the course smoothly. They are very prompt with answering emails and have gone above and beyond to help me prepare for this test. Not to mention, the online course is great! The classes are small and I have received plenty of individual attention from the professor.
