I already bought there something for myself. But most of the times I just buy gifts for friends. And they really like it. Who would not like the stuff they have? OK, the person has to like some colorful things. :D The store has a wide range of products, which goes from decorative, home, kitchen, personal care, accessories, to office items. The products are most of the time very colorful, amusing, and very functional as well as fun. They provide gift packing at no extra cost. I am not so sure if they also do it on Saturdays, given that the store do gets a bit crowded. It is almost guaranteed you will find a gift that the matches the person that will receive it. :D

Pop culturish with brightly designed toys, clocks, etc. This is also a place I could see locals coming to get something for their young teen nieces and nephews, particularly females who want something hip for the phone or bag. Overall, a nice place with cute ideas it just wasn't what were looking for on this trip so we did not make any purchases. With that being said, check it out anyway.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars for Maria Büscher! My wife and I flew from the US to Munich…read moreand upon arrival we discovered that the airline decided to rip the zippers off my luggage so that I would not be able to close it once I unzipped it at the hotel. The next day we took the damaged lugagge to Maria Büscher to see if they could repair it as we were going to be in Munich for a week. Peter explained that it would take around 2 weeks to get it repaired since he had to mail it to another location to get fixed and then have it mailed back to his shop. He then gave us the most economical options for luggage to replace my damaged one. We settled on one and it is great - standard overhead carry-on size and it is durable (my wife and I's travels continued for another 4 weeks and we had no issues or any damage on the new luggage). I also ended up buying a beautiful leather belt as I accidentally left home without one. There is a great selection of products here, leather and otherwise - wallets, belts, hand bags, overhead carry-on and checked baggage sized luggage. My wife and I ended up hitching a ride to the Bayern match that evening with Peter and Manuel too. While we were at the store, I asked the best way to get to the stadium and they simply said you can come with us. I thought they were kidding at first, but no, they were serious. And my wife and I were very thankful. What started out as a need for a luggage repair or replacement, ended up with a friendship. Peter and Manuel are wonderful people, very nice and very accommodating. Oh also, their english is much better than my german, so there was no language barrier between us. If you are local to Munich, I'm sure you are already know about Maria Büscher. If you're a traveler and need any luggage, belt, wallet, etc. assistance while in Munich, don't worry about trying to find any other place other than Maria Büscher.

After visiting this shop before but never buying anything, this year I finally got myself a nice Bavarian button down shirt which I love. I wanted to buy more but things are quote expensive here. The store is smaller than many but packed with beautiful items. That is where the goodness ended for us. The two ladies working were rude and taciturn. They followed us closely, monitoring, watching like hawks. But did they inquire how they could help? Oh no. Not even when we expressed interest in knowing how the garments were laid out so we did not search through all of the racks. One grumbled when we asked to go up to the female section. Once there, the grumbling women physically stood in the way of a section, explaining that the items there were handmade and +$600. These were the ones that we were interested in based on our research; however, this woman just frowned and said that if we wanted to look, she would pull and handle the garment. It made it hard to look... especially since she was still in the way... We understand the delicacy of the materials and quality of construction. If you have a specific way that you want things handled, tell your customers... nicely. If we cannot see the section, we clearly won't be able to decide which garment to look at, and our unworthy fingers will never touch the dirndl to try on and buy. Feeling very unwelcome, we left empty handed and shelled out the cash at a worthier establishment.

We were staying in Old Town and I got the impression you could really only find very expensive, designer ones or touristy, low quality ones. After a lot of research, I saw Trachten Rausch come up multiple times. I walked to the store and was immediately greeted by a young saleswoman who figured out my size quickly and whisked me away to a small changing room. She brought a few options, helped me in and out of them and we settled on two final options - both reasonably priced (do not expect to spend less than 150 euro on anything quality). I chose the one I wanted and was rung up and out the door. Both sales women I spoke with spoke excellent English and didn't make me feel bad about my very poor German speaking skills. This was an excellent experience - the dirndls are beautiful and I'm excited to wear mine!

Trust me when I say women get good service here and English speaking men are out of luck. The service is rushed and pressured. The male employee was pushy and didn't even know how to size me. The prices are not low end but they have mid and upper level stuff. I don't write reviews to punish a business, but I know there are people like me who want the full Oktoberfest experience and buying traditional clothes in a foreign country is confusing. My experience was bad here and world class somewhere else.
