Nice and spicy, and it reminded me of the picadillo and cheese empanadas I used to get at Cafe Tu Tu Tango in the Grove before they closed. The one my dad got me just wasn't enough, and thankfully they were still open by the time I was finished in that dreadful line at the other place. So I got two more beef empanadas and saved them for lunch the next day. They reheat very well (in the toaster oven), and they were just as fabulous as they were the previous night. Have gotten back involved in the food truck craze again, I decided to give the food truck "The Pork…read moreShop" a whirl All I can say is he knows his way around a pig! The Pork Shop sell's only pork, I found there menu to be limited to three items. Pork Lettuce Wraps, a Pork Salad, and a Pork Hash. I ordered the Pork salad and Pork lettuce warps, wrongfully thinking that it would not be enough. I was told if I wanted taco's he would switch them out, but I went for the semi healthy version. The Pork Lettuce Wraps were very very tasty, he puts a scant amount of almonds in them, which only amp up the flavor. The pork does have a distant taste. The Pork Loin Salad, was good not as great as the PorkWrap, but it was just a matter of finger food v. knife and fork food. But the loin was stuffed with artichokes, and it was very tender. I vacillate between 31/2 and 4 stars, but gave him the benefit as he was a nice social person, and yes he can cook. I was just looking for something more complex, although he told me that this was the healthy menu, as he is camped out at South Miami's Cross fit. Which is something I definitely need. He's a bit pricey, by a couple bucks, but I will try him again.
