Very enjoyable experience! We sat outside even though it was too cold for the locals. The waiter was friendly and attentive and spoke English very well. The food was fresh and very hot. Highly recommend the bruchette sampler, carbonara and porcini taglione pastas and tirmisu! Very reasonably priced and the service was very quick. We wandered around the center of Assisi on Thursday night before Easter. Some restaurants looked closed and some looked less than appetizing. Some looked expensive. This restaurant looked almost full and had a 3 course menu for 18 Euros plus beverages and 2 Euro service charge. I liked the options on the 3 course menu, so ordered that. DH started with the lasagne which he liked. I had the second pasta item on the menu, but substituted penne for the House made pasta, which is made with egg (I am allergic to eggs). The sauce was light, with broccoli, ground meat and dusted with pecorino. Both dishes were satisfying. For our second courses, DH had grilled lamb chops which he really liked--9/10. I had the rolled lamb, which was boneless lamb leg rolled. It was ok, but salty and fatty to me. DH thought my lamb was good. I selected the grilled vegetables as my third course and thought they were perfect. A good choice and they accept American Express cards. read more

I had a wonderful Strangozzi with tartufo and fungi porcini. Restaurant is cozy and has good service.

The daily special was a fantastic choice. The ravioli and bore soup was very tasty and more than enough.

Walked in at an off-time (3:30 PM) only to be warmly greeted by the manager who graciously seated us in what is a very sleek yet welcoming Trattoria that has a wide-ranging menu and a robust selection of wine. I had the Tagliatelle made with wild boar which was perfectly prepared. The pasta was spot-on al dente and together with the succulent wild boar made for a delicious main course. My wife and I shared a starter of melon and prosciutto which was refreshing and tender. The melon was perfectly ripe and the prosciutto was tasty, dry, and the perfect accompaniment. My wife was wild for the lamb chops...not little tiny ones but full-sized ones that were roasted to perfection. The house red and white wines were more than adequate. If you would like a nice quiet place to have a fine lunch amidst the Assisi pilgrims we recommend this nicely furnished. well-staffed, and food-focused establishment. We truly enjoyed it . read more
