With a few brief instructions on timing and where our serving pieces were I was completely free to concentrate on our guests and enjoy myself. She inspired confidence from the start and followed through. Her sense of timing and service was great--she kept the buffet table well supplied as people came back for seconds & thirds and she was engaging and friendly throughout. Now to the food--in a word, FABULOUS. All vegetarian; healthy, fresh, delicious & beautifully presented; her specialty. We started off with a wonderful Cheese Platter that was accompanied with dried figs, maple tamari glazed nuts, buckwheat chees straws and fresh fruit. Later, on the buffet table, we had Rustic Pizza Bites with goat cheese, butternut squash, camelized onions & fried sage, Sweet Pea Dumpings with Mint dipping sauce, Corn & Black Bean Cakes topped with a dollop of Guacamole, Vegetable Spring Rolls with a Thai Almond dipping sauce, and the best warm Artichoke Parmesean Dip EVER (so light & delicious, not heavy & greasy like the ususal). Everyone is still talking about the food. Even my meat and potaotes brother was happy! It was a filling yet light meal and so different from the usual buffet fare. I'd purchased a birthday cake and when it came time for that, Lisa jumped right in and took charge of cutting and serving. Her energy was boundless and I was left with a clean kitchen and leftovers that were placed in my fridge in well marked, tidily prepared containers....for a few days we happily ate that lovely party food and had fond memories of the day. I will definitely be doing business with Fiddleheads again. Check her out.

Fiddleheads Cuisine catered my wedding, in Concord, Vermont. The menu, which I'll include below)…read morewas tailored to our specifications and accommodated our many vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and omnivorous guests. Working with Lisa was comfortable and easy. She responded promptly to emails and phone calls. Though we repeatedly changed our menu, and increased the guest count, Lisa never once declined a requested change. Since we had no official wedding coordinator for our small affair (40 guests), Lisa wisely requested that we provide her with a point-person who could answer any questions during meal preparation. My aunt served in this role, and said that Lisa was very pleasant and easy to work with. The food reviews by all of our guests were overwhelmingly positive. Many people said is was the best wedding dinner they had ever had (that was certainly true for my wife and me). Considering that the guests comprised a large range of dining preferences and dietary restrictions, the positive reviews are that much more impressive. Despite the small size of our wedding, Lisa and her helper were never intrusive. In fact, had she not found my wife and I to complement us and say farewell, I hardly would have known she was present. I would highly recommend Fiddleheads Cuisine for any small event requiring catering. Also, based on my experience, I suspect that the community-supported kitchen service, cooking classes, and in-home cooking service provided by Fiddleheads are all equally meritorious and excellent. Here is the menu Fiddleheads prepared for our wedding: Appetizers -- Corn Scallion Fritters topped with Cilantro Almond Aioli (v/gf) -- Sweet Pea Dumplings stuffed with Herbed Cashew Cheese with Zesty Mint Dipping Sauce (v) Vegetable Sides -- Wild Rice Salad with Sweet Peas, Watermelon Radish, Tamari Toasted Almonds and Chives in a Zesty Ginger Dressing (v/gf) Entrées -- Eggplant Rollatinis with a Cashew Pesto Filling and Sundried Tomato Sauce (v/gf- not tree nut free) -- Chicken Marbella braised Browned Chicken served with a Sweet Caper-red Wine Sauce (gf) -- Vegetable Neopolitan stacked high with garlicky smashed cannelloni beans, grilled portabella, roasted red pepper and fresh basil drizzle served over herbed quinoa (gf/v)

We want to share our experience with The Roving Feast so other couples know what to expect. We…read moreworked with 7 other wedding vendors, all of whom received glowing, five-star reviews from us. Unfortunately, this caterer was the one vendor that caused constant stress and frustration and turned what should have been a fun planning process into a 7 month-long headache. While the food itself was delicious and the on-site staff were friendly, that's where the positives end. From the start, communication was slow, disorganized, and full of errors. We requested two in-person meetings to clear up repeated mistakes, and both times were promised updated proposals within a few days. Instead, they arrived 3-4 weeks later, only after multiple follow-up emails and phone calls. We didn't even receive our final invoice until 11 a.m. on our wedding day. Food & Service: We were charged for four servers but only had two. Guests had to refill their own water carafes and even serve themselves salad on what was supposed to be a staffed buffet, and this was at the direction of the owner! Dessert was never served, and we ended up cleaning up leftover food, garbage, and bottles the next morning. Unlike every other vendor we worked with that day, who checked in upon arrival and throughout the evening to ensure everything was going smoothly, the owner never checked in with us at all. Bar Service: We were told we'd be invoiced after the wedding based on the number and types of drinks actually consumed. Instead, we were charged six hours before the event for a predetermined number of drinks at the highest price tier on her menu. The bar also closed 30 minutes earlier than we paid for, something we only discovered when the bride went to order a drink and was told everything had already been packed up. We also were told we would have two VTLCB-certified bartenders but only had one. When we questioned it, the owner admitted that the third food server had been pulled to work the bar, which meant an unlicensed individual was serving alcohol to our guests. Instead of addressing our concerns professionally, the owner sent a series of aggressive, accusatory emails demanding immediate payment while acknowledging errors on her end. When the groom called her to discuss corrections, she apologized for her tone and agreed to send an updated invoice. He even offered to pay for the services the servers had already provided as an act of good faith so she wouldn't be delayed in receiving payment, but she declined the offer. What followed were multiple hostile emails filled with false claims and personal accusations, including that we distributed more drink tickets than we paid for, a claim disproven by her own photo and our accurate count. Her behavior after the event was shocking, combative, dishonest, and deeply unprofessional. We've since reported our experience to the venue that lists her as a preferred caterer so future couples are aware. It's so disappointing because every other vendor we worked with was wonderful, responsive, and kind. We wish this had been the same experience here. If you value transparency, honesty, and respectful communication, please take this as a serious warning. The Roving Feast misrepresents its services, is evasive about pricing, and treats clients defensively and disrespectfully when questioned. It was, without exaggeration, the most stressful part of our wedding.
