    1. The owner of the company, Phillip, forgot that he had scheduled to begin my job and ended up…read morestarting weeks later. 2. I carefully selected paint colors and sent him the names and numbers, but he only used two of the five colors that I had selected. The paint colors he used were either ones that he selected without my approval, or one (for the back deck) that he insisted I change at the last minute without giving me an opportunity to see the color in the light of my back yard first. The finish on the front porch and rails was also not approved beforehand, and was not the previously agreed upon satin finish. 3. I specifically asked whether materials were included before the project began, Phillip stated that they were, but then tacked on extra charges for materials at the time of payment. 4. The contract stated that they would inspect "...stairs and stair treads..." and "...make all necessary repairs," however when I noticed that they had left several non-slip stair treads that were partially damaged and looked sloppy, he argued that I had not specifically asked for them to be repaired or removed beforehand. He did end up fixing this, but not before much arguing with me about it. 5. He broke into my storage space, which was locked from the inside, and utilized it to store his supplies without asking my permission. 6. He parked his storage trailer in my small driveway for several days without asking me first, and told me I had to park to the side. 7. His crew left paint spills on my porch swing, window panes, flower bed pavers, brick landing, and a decorative antique bell. Although he asked me to let him know if anything needed to be touched up, when I alerted him to these spills, he said I was "nitpicking," and blamed the previous painters from nearly a decade ago who had done a crappy job. He refused to clean up the spills. 8. I showed him that the paint was bubbling up on posts on the front stairs. He said that this was due to previous weather damage. He did say that he would repair this, but has yet to do so. The appearance worsens daily. 9. Trash was left in the yard, which I was left to clean up. 10. My porch light, which had previously worked properly, no longer functions. He refused to take responsibility for that, first denying that they had even touched the light, then admitting that they had removed the cover, but blaming whoever installed it (16 years ago) on the "shotty" (sic) installation. 11. He complained that I was trying to withhold payment from him and said that I had refused to pay him one week when he had not even requested a payment at that time. 12. When my next door neighbor asked him to please keep his voice down, as her elderly father was trying to sleep and he couldn't because Phillip was yelling at his crew, Phillip rudely replied, "I can say whatever I want, this isn't Cuba." 13. He asked inappropriate personal questions that made me uncomfortable, such as whether I colored my hair, my age, my occupation, where I go to the gym and when. He even went so far as to invite himself to go to Jazz Fest with me, and told me that he would ride with me--I declined, and had not given him any indication that I wanted him to go to Jazz Fest with me or any other social event, for that matter. He called and texted repeatedly late at night to find out if I had had fun at Jazz Fest, and to find out my location. His attitude and professionalism seemed to decline rapidly after these requests were rebuffed. 14. When we first discussed painting the exterior of my house in October 2016, he said he would send me an estimate that included the back deck. When I noticed the back deck was not being painted, he said that it had, in fact, not been included in the original estimate (it was written vaguely enough that it could have easily been misinterpreted either way). Due to this misunderstanding, he said he would only charge me for materials for the back deck and not labor, but when he came to collect his payment, he said he'd have to charge me for labor as well, tacking nearly $700 onto his charges. 15. Finally, in an effort to secure the screens on the windows, which his crew left unsecured, I discovered that all of my windows had been painted shut. 16. My dog walker has informed me that Phillip was extremely rude to her on multiple occasions. Once, she was inside my house with the front door closed (she has a key to my house and is there every day), when she suddenly heard a loud male voice behind her. Phillip had entered the house without even knocking, and admonished her for allowing my dogs on the front porch, as if she were a child. Another time he scolded her for allowing the dogs on the back deck. A third time, he told her that I had authorized him to be inside my house without anyone present (I absolutely had not). Another time, as the dog walker approached, she witnessed him loudly berating his crew in front of everyone who walked by.
